Edward trembled. “I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking. That's not what I meant. Don't worry, I promise I won't ever appear in front of that old man.”

“Don't worry, I promise to keep my word,” Edward said to Samuel. ”Give me a pen! How can I sign without a pen?”
