CHAPTER 2

Shana hurriedly ran to the bathroom and prepared to go to work because she was late to go to work this morning. Shana wore a white dress with high heels. She looks beautiful this morning. This morning she was picked up by Halsey and today was Halsey’s first day on duty as her bodyguard.

As soon as Shana entered the office, her boss and her co-worker were already sitting there talking about something Shana doesn't care about, and her boss saw her and cackled at her happily.

“Morning Miss. Ward!"

"Good Morning, Sir,” said Shana, bowing down to her boss, Mr. Miller.

Mr. Miller looked at Shana. “Hiya, Shana. Have you slept well?” He asked.

‘Yes sir, I was very comfortable last night.’ replied Shana politely.

"Today we have a movie shoot about an action movie and Shana I assigned you in the horror makeup section." His boss gave instructions. "Roger that boss." Shana likes horror makeup because it can calm her mind. "Today is going to be a good day because I just have to put on stunt man makeup."

Working with stunt men is more fun because they are not picky like artists. Dennis is the male lead in this movie. Without Shana knowing Dennis has never used a stunt man in any of the movies he has starred in.

"Are you alright with that, Shana?" asked her boss curiously.

“I would do anything for you guys, sir,” Shana answered honestly with her big brown eyes looking at Mr. Miller. She knows this job is her chance to prove herself to everyone.

Mr. Miller was impressed with Shana's loyalty to her friends and family. "Alright, that's great, Shana." "Oh, and we have a special guest coming today," he added.

"What a surprise. Is he cute?" Shana asked excitedly. Mr. Miller chuckled at her excitement.

“I don't think I should spoil the surprise, Shana. I'll let you know when I announce it."

"Alright. Thanks, Mr. Miller" Shana replied.

And then Mr. Miller went back to his office leaving Shana and her co-workers alone. Shana waiting for the stunt man to arrive to do their makeup.

After waiting for about 15 minutes some of the stunt men arrived. Shana quickly comes to one of them and does the makeup for him. Soon, she was finished with it and went back to the makeup area where Dennis was finishing his makeup. They made eye contact with each other and what a surprise they both saw each other.

Dennis didn’t think that he would meet Shana again and what was even more shocking for him was that Shana was a makeup artist not as he imagined. He thinks Shana will inherit her father’s company. On the other hand, Shana was like seeing a ghost. Her face was pale. She wanted to leave the set at that time as well but he had to be professional. So Shana remained in position. She was feeling uneasy and she wasn't sure if this could be a coincidence. She tried hard to hide her feelings from Dennis.

Dennis goes straight toward her and said

" Bro, can I use her service? I'm not comfortable with Ms.Chan. She's a little rude. But please don't tell her"

Dennis winked at the stuntman who was going to be makeup by Shana.

"Ok. I won't tell anyone" the stuntmen walked away and walked toward Ms.Chan.

"Hey, it's you. You work here. I thought you work for your father's company"

"Yes, I'm more comfortable standing on my own two feet" Shana replied while preparing her makeup equipment.

" Just like you broke into my room yesterday using your two feet?" mocked Dennis.

Shana quickly covered Dennis' mouth with her tiny palm.

"Shh... Please don't discuss the matter again unless you want some wild gossip about it"

Shana resumed her work which was interrupted a moment ago. Shana puts a horrifying special effect on Dennis ’face as Dennis features a male character full of facial wounds after having a serious accident.

"Stop staring at me. I'm not comfortable with it" Shana continues doing her job.

"You do it again! " Shana snapped at him. Dennis just smile and then whispered in Shana's ear "Your times during this filming will be uncomfortable. I'll make sure of that."

Shana was so shocked to hear that she dropped her mascara holder and it splattered all over the floor with red liquid.

"Shana? Are you ok?" asked Dennis while helping her pick up the broken pieces of makeup.

"Don't pretend like you care " replied Shana quickly picking up the rest of the pieces with an extremely shaky hand. Suddenly Dennis called his boss. "Boss, Shana's work is very good and detailed. I want her to be at each of our shooting locations. From now on, Shana will touch up my makeup."

"Who are you ..." before Shana finished her sentence, Mr. Miller cut her off and said

"Anything for our male lead"

Shana was furious with Dennis. It seems like everything that happens between us starts with him. She felt disgusted with everything that happened between her and Dennis recently. All Dennis did was hurt her in some way or another. How can he be this heartless and cruel to me?!
