Chapter 4

When Shana wakes up the next morning she finds that her head hurt like hell. She slowly sat up from her bed groaning in pain. Her whole body aches. She tried to remember anything that happened last night. It was dark and then suddenly she hears a scream and someone ran away from the room screaming. But when she woke up she was alone in the bedroom. She had a nightmare that night. That's when she noticed a note was taped above her head. She read the words written on it in fancy handwriting.

"We have shot at 8 am. Make sure to be there on time or something will happen later," said Dennis.

"Relax boy. I'm just asking" He looked at Dennis surprised.

"Shana..she's ugly. Her behavior is also not good. There is nothing good about her" He deliberately insults Shana in front of Euntae because he hates Shana. To him, Shana is just a destroyer of his life.

The shoot started at 7.15 AM.

"Shana, what do you think? Does this suit me? ” Euntae asked Shana

"Yes, it is. You looked handsome in it. Today you will do a scene where you and Dennis are chasing criminals, right?"

Euntae nodded and smiled at her. Shana smiles at him back in happiness. Shana felt very happy today that she didn't feel like crying and she didn't feel angry or depressed.

Everyone is dressed and ready and is waiting for the director's signal. He gives it to them when he sees them standing perfectly in their respective positions.

"Action!" ordered the director. Everyone begins shooting, with Dennis being the main character along with Euntae.

"Dennis, stop! Why are you doing that? Don't chase after them!" yelled Euntae.

Dennis and Euntae watch as the chase continues between the two.

"Dennis, I'm scared that these guys might kill us both!" whispered Euntae.

Just at that moment the men start approaching them.

"Stop running away!" screamed the men. Both of them run away from the men but were followed closely by them.

The chase continued for a couple of minutes. Euntae was panicking at seeing Dennis getting closer and closer to death's grasp.

"No...NO!! ", yelled Euntae, as he tries to hold onto Dennis. But to no avail.

"You're dead meat! "shouted the men. They ran towards the duo as they began firing their weapons. One of the bullets hit Euntae right in his heart and he fell to his knees in pain. His hands clutched the bullet wound and blood dripped on his chest.

"NO!!!", screamed Dennis.

"Euntae! I'm sorry! "whispered Dennis, looking down at the lifeless man on the ground.

All of a sudden, a gunshot was heard again and Euntae fell on the floor lifelessly, causing the crowd around them to gasp loudly and run away from the scene.

Dennis kneeled next to Euntae's body and cried for him. He couldn't believe this was happening right before his very eyes. He thought if only he had listened to Euntae earlier that he wouldn't be here, watching his best friend die on the floor right in front of him.

"Is he dead?", asked an agent who was close by.

"Yes, he is. He's dead"

"And CUT!" Screamed the director.

The actors got off the stage and went straight to the dressing rooms to take off their costumes. The rest of the crew went to clean up the mess. Shana also goes to the makeup room and started to remove makeup from Euntae face.

"Shana, I need help, can you help me out here?", called one of the makeup artists.

" Mr. Dennis has requested for you specifically," said the makeup artist.

Shana rolls her eyes and continues to remove the makeup from Dennis's face. While removing makeup from Dennis's face she heard Euntae ask Dennis

"Dude, who is your plus one tonight?"

"Who else? Of course my lovely Bethany"

Dennis answered and glanced at Shana to see Shana's reaction.

"You?" he continued

"I want to invite Shana to come with me tonight." Euntae looked at Shana with the hope that Shana would agree to his invitation. Shana's hand that had been nimble doing its work stopped abruptly. She was surprised to hear Euntae invite her.

"Shana?" Euntae asked once more. Shana smiled at Euntae and replied

"Okay. After all, I'm free tonight. No one is accompanying me tonight either" Shana taunts Dennis.

"All right. I'll pick you up at 7 pm later"

"No need. I will drive to your house later" Shana didn't want Euntae to know that she had married Dennis. They both agreed and Shana continued to remove makeup from Dennis's face.

By 6:55 PM Shana finally arrived at Euntae's house which wasn't too difficult considering that Euntae didn't live too far from there. He gave her a ride to the party. Shana wore a tight red dress that showed her slim and sexy curves. Anyone who looks at it will be tempted.

"Well, we're going to go now," Said Euntae.

"If you still remember the way back home, can you go back now?"

"Euntae, I'm sorry. But I have to go back now. My father is angry."

"Even as an adult, your father is still angry if you come back late at night" teased Euntae.

"Euntae ..." her lower lip protruded in a sulky pout

"Okay, okay. Goodbye and drive safe" Euntae gave a kiss on Shana's hand. After a 15 -minute drive, Shana arrived at Dennis and her house. When she got there Dennis was waiting for him.

"How's your date?" asked Dennis.

Shana just nodded and went to get her coat from the trunk of her car.

Once she got home, she immediately went upstairs to change clothes, but her head didn't stop thinking about how beautiful Dennis had looked in his white shirt and black jacket. Her parents were surprised by the messages and their faces were filled with shock and confusion. After listening to the messages carefully, they were stunned.

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Her father asked.

"Yes, why didn't you tell me about it earlier?" Her mother questioned angrily, scolding her daughter.

"I'm going out for a while. I want to have lunch with Bethany. You don't have to wait for me. Maybe I'll come late at night"

Then he slammed the door behind him as loud as possible. As soon as the door closed he heard her sobbing loudly again, followed by silence. He was so angry at himself and wanted nothing more but to go back in there, apologize, and hug her until she fell asleep. He wanted to hear her laugh or talk to her again. He got into his car and drove back home. He headed to the restaurant where he and Bethany promise to meet for a lunch. He is ready to tell Bethany that he is married but he still loves Bethany. When he entered the restaurant, the place was already packed. It seemed that people always come here for lunch. He took a seat near the exit of the restaurant where he could watch everyone coming and going. He checked his phone and saw a message from Bethany.

He sent her back a quick reply saying that he arrived at the restaurant and was sitting near the exit now.

After about 20 minutes, Bethany came through the entrance of the restaurant looking for him. When he saw her, he gave her a warm smile and stood up. Bethany immediately walked over to him. Bethany stared at him curiously, curious as well as anxious.

"I... we... we don't know what happened. Both of us were drunk that night. The night at Las Vegas." explained Dennis calmly.

Dennis shook his head.

"No, she's not like that".

Bethany raised her eyebrows.

"Don't you think it is weird? Don't you think that there must be some kind of reason why both of you ended up marrying each other?".

"Bethany, there isn't any proof that she has anything to do with it."

"But..." Bethany was not convinced.

"There is nothing else that we can do. I'm are married to her and there is no way of divorce because of some contract we also didn't know where those things " He paused for a moment "Are... and there is nothing that can change that".

Bethany nodded her head and sighed. She was thinking deeply about something and suddenly she snapped her fingers.

"Well it sounds ridiculous but it doesn't matter what happens because you don't love her, right"?

"Yes, I promise".

"Okay, well that's fine I guess, but I will be checking on her sometimes".

"I'm sorry I broke my promise, Bethany".

"What promise?"

Dennis paused for a moment and swallowed. This was the moment to break the news to her.

"I promised that I'd never betray you".

"Oh, Dennis..." Bethany began crying softly.

"Bethany, look. I was drunk. I can't help it." He said, stroking her face gently.

"But... you're supposed to remember your promise even if you're drunk". Bethany sniffled.

Dennis looked away and lowered his head "I am. It's just... sometimes things happen and we don't have control of what happens".

"You won't cheat on me, right? Please don't" pleaded Bethany.

"No, I won't". Said Dennis firmly.

"Then please don't leave me. Just tell me when everything," Said Bethany.

Dennis chuckled and pulled Bethany closer to him, hugging her tight.

It wasn't long before they were done eating and Dennis paid the bill. They left the restaurant and started walking back to their house, holding hands and smiling at each other.

When they reached the street of Bethany's building, they bid goodbye to each other. A few steps ahead of her, Dennis stopped and turned towards her. She stopped walking too and turned around.

"Bethany, I love you," he said sincerely, trying to give her his most sincere look.

A smile formed on her lips and she replied, "I love you too". And then she added, laughing slightly, "So much".

And as she went down the stairs, Dennis turned around and made his way toward his apartment, a big smile playing on his lips.
