Dante

As I watched Anna stride confidently out of my office, my heart sank. I knew her returning my jacket was merely a pretext to see me again. Despite the fact that she was on the run, I had made the decision to keep my distance unless she specifically sought my help. Did she honestly believe she could hide from me? My men had been monitoring her ever since they discovered her in that miserable motel, but they refrained from dragging her to me on my orders.

I was aware of the suspicious individuals who had been asking about her whereabouts, but unless she opened up to me, I refuse to intervene.

Despite my decision, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that I needed to protect her from any potential danger.

I picked up my phone and dialed Matteo's number. "Anna just left my office. I want my men to keep a close eye on her."

"Sure thing, boss. Is she connected to the new business owner?" Matteo inquired.

"I pay you to follow my orders, not to ask questions," I snapped. "Just get my men on her."

"Apologies, boss. I'll take care of it," Matteo responded before I hung up.

I lit up a cigarette and pondered how Anna was already affecting my life without even realizing it. I knew I had to rid her from my mind. I called Lisa and instructed her to come to my office within five minutes.

As I sat in my office, the door suddenly opened without a knock, and I immediately recognized Matteo's bold entrance. We had been friends for years, so I knew he wasn't afraid of me.

"Boss, we have a problem," Matteo announced, looking grim.

"Someone better be dying, Matteo," I growled.

"We've lost Anna," he stated.

I glared at him, trying to contain my rage. "How difficult is it to keep track of one girl? How difficult is it to keep her under surveillance?" I demanded.

"I'm sorry, boss," Matteo apologized.

"I hate that fucking word. You had better find her before nightfall, or else you will be facing the consequences," I threatened. "Get out!"

Matteo left my office, and I immediately called Victor, ordering him to send me the camera footage.

Later, as Matteo and I reviewed the footage together, he asked me, "Who do you think took her?"

"If I had the answer to that question, I would already be on my way to retrieve her and make those bastards pay," I replied.

"At least the CCTV captured their license plate numbers. We'll catch them in no time," Matteo reassured me.

I couldn't shake off the feeling of apprehension that gnawed at me. "I hope we can find her in time," I murmured.

"We will, boss. We'll get to her before it's too late," Matteo replied. "Speaking of time, how long will it take to make Mr. Valentine cooperate with us?"

"Very soon, Matteo. I've already sent him a copy of the files we have on him. He'll realize that he can't avoid prison by holding onto that factory forever," I smirked.

"I doubt he'll give up without a fight. That factory brings him in billions each month," Matteo remarked.

"He's not smart enough to take me down, and even if he tries, I'll be ready for him. That factory will be mine, whether he likes it or not," I declared.

As Matteo prepared to leave, he asked me, "What's your deal with the girl, boss?"

Taking a sip of Scotch, I furrowed my brow. "I wish I knew, Matteo. I really do."

“I sincerely hope this new girl won't cause any complications for us, boss. However, I place my trust in you. If you deem her presence worth the inconvenience, then she must be worth it. I will go discuss with Tom about any information he has gathered about her."

With that, he exited the office, leaving me to ponder over my thoughts. As I took the last sip of my scotch, a sense of unease washed over me. I couldn't help but worry about her safety, wherever she may be.

I was seized with regret over my decision to send her away, a feeling that was new to me.

It dawned on me that I was in a serious situation. For the first time in my life, I, Dante Williams, the ruthless and calculating businessman, was second guessing his actions and questioning his choices.

AnnaAs I tried to lift my hand to touch my throbbing head, I was startled to find that my limbs wouldn't move. Panic set in as I struggled to open my eyes, but the pain only intensified. Just as I was about to lose all hope, cold water was poured over my head, bringing me back to reality. Blinking away the haze, I saw that I was bound hand and foot, with the two men from the previous night staring down at me."What do you want from me?" I demanded, my voice quivering with fear. "If you're going to kill me, just get it over with. I'm not afraid to die."The man with a scar laughed harshly. "Oh, honey, you don't know what you're saying. Death would be the easy way out. You should be praying that our boss doesn't want you dead, because that would be a fate worse than anything you can imagine."I was speechless, unable to even respond with a curse. But just as I thought things couldn't get any worse, a new voice spoke up - one that was surprisingly young and handsome."Nobody's getting f

DanteIt took us two excruciating hours to locate the cabin where Anna was being held. When we finally arrived, I stepped out of the car, ready to retrieve Anna from her captors."Boss, we can't just go in. It might be a trap," Matteo warned.I shot him a hard glare. "Tom, take your crew and surround the back door. Jack, you and your crew should encircle the perimeter and ensure nobody leaves. Matteo and Victor, you're coming with me.""Yes, sir," they answered in unison.Despite my confidence, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. It was more than just Anna's kidnapping; there was an ominous vibe surrounding the whole situation. As we entered the cabin, we found it empty."Boss, do you think we have the right location?""Search the entire house. Report anything out of place," I ordered."Boss, we found something!" Jack shouted from the other end of the house.I sprinted towards the room Jack was pointing at and kicked the door open to find Anna tied to a chair, uncon

DanteAs I approached Anna's room, a disquieting sensation crept up my spine. My mind was already buzzing with unanswered questions that needed to be resolved. As I walked in, my eyes landed on Anna, her back propped against the bedpost, with her eyes tightly shut in unbearable agony. It was evident that the drugs were taking a toll on her, causing her immense discomfort. Despite being aware of how imprudent it was, I proceeded to ask, "How are you feeling, Anna?"She opened her eyes, and her gaze met mine before responding, "I'm fine, I suppose. Just a pulsating headache."As anticipated, the medication seemed to be doing more harm than good. "I'll have Martha bring you some painkillers," I stated. "You need to rest. The doctor has recommended plenty of rest and water for you. Moreover, tomorrow is going to be a long day, and I'll need to gather information from you about the men who abducted you."Anna nibbled on her fingernails before questioning me, "Why did you come for me?"As

AnnaI had a restless night, tossing and turning, as my mind was preoccupied with that despicable man. How could he have done this to me? Who does he think he is? One moment, he's kissing me, and the next, he's off screwing someone else. Recalling the kiss now fills me with embarrassment and makes me feel foolish for having fallen for his deception. "Damn you, Dante," I muttered as I drew myself out of bed and headed for a refreshing shower. After my shower, I made my way to the dining area for breakfast. There, I ran into a fellow lodger who went by the name Matteo. "Good morning, Mat," I greeted him, trying to shake off the bitter mood that had been brought on by Dante's betrayal."Well, well, well," Matteo responded with a sly grin. "Looks like someone woke up on the right side of the bed."I was in no mood for his playful banter. "Just cut the crap, Matteo. I don't have time for your cheekiness this morning."But Matteo's laughter echoed through the hallway, making me realize that

DanteI had a feeling that something was off. Despite the mind-blowing sex we just had, when I asked Anna about her kidnappers, she grew distant and wouldn't meet my eyes. It was obvious that she was hiding something, and it made me uneasy. As I made my way downstairs, I spotted Anna sitting with Matteo at the kitchen table. They were chatting and laughing as if they had known each other for years. I didn't know what Matteo's deal was, but I didn't like how comfortable he was becoming with Anna. I slid into the seat between them, effectively interrupting their conversation.I needed to make a point, to let Matteo know that Anna was officially mine. I noticed that Anna had only a small amount of food on her plate and decided to use it to my advantage.“After the workout we just had, you need to refuel with a hearty breakfast to keep you going all day long,” I said, gesturing to her plate.Matteo raised an eyebrow. “What workout? Did you guys hit the gym this morning?”Anna's face turne

DanteUpon my arrival, I was confronted with a tense scene. My trusted associate, Matteo, was standing guard with two of my men, encircling Dave who was firmly tied to a chair. As soon as he saw me, his eyes welled up with tears and he began to sob uncontrollably, demanding an explanation for his predicament.Seated across from him, I could not help but feel a wave of annoyance wash over me at the sight of his vulnerability. "Dave, your tears are unbecoming of a man," I began sternly. "Your display of weakness suggests that you are unable to endure even the slightest discomfort. What will happen if one of our foes were to capture you and subject you to torture? Would you crumble and beg for mercy before you even feel the sting of the lash?"Despite my admonishment, Dave continued to shake his head and weep, "I would rather face the enemy's wrath than suffer at the hands of my own boss. If I am to meet my end, let it be as a hero at the hands of our adversaries, rather than as a traito

Sorry about a double POV in one chapter. I had to write about Valentine, and it is too short to be considered another chapter of its own.DanteAs I sat in the passenger seat of my SUV, my thoughts drifted to Anna's elusive friend, Debbie. Hoping to gain some valuable information from her, I couldn't help but feel frustrated by Anna's reluctance to share anything with us. The urge to hear Anna's voice was overwhelming, prompting me to call her home phone. Martha, the ever-reliable housekeeper, answered the call and I wasted no time in requesting to speak with Anna."I need to speak to Anna. Please pass the phone to her," I said."Of course, sir," Martha replied before I heard some rustling and commotion, followed by Anna's familiar voice saying, "Hello, Dante?"I remained silent for a few moments, simply relishing in the sound of her voice that had always had a profound effect on me. No other voice had the ability to elicit such a reaction. I knew that what I was experiencing with Ann

Anna As I gazed at the phone that lay in my hands, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Dante had really outdone himself this time. An iPhone? I mean, seriously? I hadn't even considered owning such a device. It was as though he had read my mind and decided to surprise me with something I never imagined I could possess. I mulled over the cost of the gadget, and like a typical broke person, I tried to figure out how I could use the money to pay off my debts to Valentine. It was a fleeting thought, but it lingered in my mind for a while. The last time I saw Dante was when he left me waiting for him, naked, as per his request. But that was hours ago. I had barely put on some clothes when Martha, his assistant, arrived with the phone. As much as I appreciated the gesture, I was more interested in having a word with Dante. So, I got dressed, intending to confront him. I knew he'd be in his office since that's where he usually retreated when he wanted to be alone.I was making my way to hi

ANNA More than a month had passed since that harrowing incident, yet its memories remained as vivid as if it had occurred just yesterday. The echoes of gunshots still reverberated in the depths of my mind, and the fear of losing Dante clung to me like an unwelcome shadow. He had risked everything for me, shielding me with his own body, taking a bullet for me and in that moment, I made a solemn vow to love him endlessly if he fought his way out of the coma that consumed him. The mere thought of losing him sent waves of anguish through my soul. Dante... my brave, selfless Dante. But it wasn't just the anguish of losing him that consumed me; it was the seething rage that burned within me, directed at the one responsible for this tragedy. That vile woman had sent Dante, the great Dante Williams, into a coma. If I could resurrect her just to take her life once more, I would do it without hesitation.Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, Xavier, a man who had been a constant presence in my lif

ANNAOur journey back to New York unfolded smoothly, with laughter and camaraderie filling the helicopter cabin. The guys cracked jokes, Dante engrossed in his phone, and I found solace in immersing myself in a romance novel on Booknet. It was a rare moment of tranquility amidst the chaos we had faced. As we approached our destination, Xavier expressed his need to be dropped off so he could catch a flight back to California. We obliged, landing on the rooftop of a hotel where he bid us farewell. With a final wave, he disappeared into the building, leaving Dante and me to continue our journey.Once we landed and stepped out of the helicopter, I suddenly found myself enveloped in a tight hug. Startled, I looked up to see Mateo wearing a broad smile on his face."So happy to have you back, Anna," Mateo exclaimed, his eyes scanning my face before embracing me once more.Returning his hug, I couldn't help but be touched by his warmth and genuine joy. ANNAAs I sat on the rock, catching my breath and allowing my weary muscles to relax, a glimmer of curiosity caught my eye. Not too far from where I stood, nestled amidst the foliage, was a cave entrance. Its dark recesses beckoned to me, despite the inherent dangers that caves often held. Yet, an irresistible pull urged me forward, compelling me to explore its mysterious depths. How could we have missed this during John and his crew's cleanup? Were they as oblivious to its presence as I had been?I couldn't resist the temptation any longer. With a mix of trepidation and intrigue, I rose from the rock and cautiously made my way towards the cave. Each step carried a hint of apprehension, my mind flooded with thoughts of hidden treasures or a fantastical encounter awaiting me within. Absurd as it may seem, a part of me half-expected a whimsical figure resembling the Wizard of Oz to materialize before my eyes.Shaking off the whimsical notion, I pressed on, my heart pounding in anticipat

ANNAThe past week with Dante had been nothing short of a blissful honeymoon stage, as he lavished me with his attention, pampering me and worshipping every inch of my being. However, amidst the intoxicating whirlwind of love and desire, there was a nagging thought that persistently gnawed at the corners of my mind—the elusive file. I yearned for its resolution, unable to attain complete peace of mind while it still lingered in the shadows.Today, with a newfound determination, I resolved to bring up the subject once more. I couldn't suppress my curiosity any longer; the file's existence cast a faint but palpable shadow over our idyllic paradise.Finding Dante on the island wasn't a particularly challenging task. I spotted him reclining under the warm sun, basking in its golden embrace. Drawing closer, I handed him the bottle of sun screen, a subtle request for him to apply it onto my exposed back. His eyes darted toward the security personnel stationed nearby, prompting the vigilant

ANNADante's reassurances did little to ease my growing unease. Deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something, something potentially dangerous. Attempting to reach him, I dialed his number several times, only to be sent straight to voicemail each time. Frustrated, I turned to Xavier as my next point of contact, but my calls to him also led to his voicemail. It seemed like everyone I reached out to was suddenly unreachable. In a desperate attempt to gather some information, I turned to the intimidating figures Dante had assigned as my security. However, they remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide any insight or even acknowledge my presence. Their indifference to my greetings only fueled my suspicion further.Seeking solace, I stepped out from behind the protective shield made of bamboo and scanned the surroundings. DANTESilently, I eased the door open and peered into the room, spotting one of Orlando's men meticulously arranging the space. It appeared he had been reduced to a servant, a mere houseboy in Orlando's empire. Taking aim at his heart, I squeezed the trigger, the sound of the gunshot punctuating the air. The man crumpled onto the bed, his lifeblood staining the pristine white sheets. One adversary eliminated, leaving six more to confront. Stepping further into the room, Matteo, Tom, and John followed closely behind me, ready for the imminent confrontation. With a subtle nod from me, they dispersed, each armed with the determination to eradicate those despicable men.Time seemed to blur as the next few moments unfolded. Swiftly and efficiently, we took down four more of Orlando's men, their existence extinguished with ruthless precision. DANTELast night, as the moon hung high in the star-studded sky, I found myself unable to surrender to the soothing embrace of sleep. Instead, I remained wide awake, vigilant and alert, my eyes refusing to succumb even for the briefest of moments. In my hand, I cradled Orlando's exquisite scotch, which I had discovered at the deserted bar earlier. Its amber glow danced in the dim light, offering me solace and temporary respite from the anticipation that gripped me.The plan was simple yet delicate. Xavier had assured us that he would inform us the moment they departed from the house. Until then, I found myself imprisoned in the confines of a dreary room, awaiting Xavier's crucial call. Aware of the delicate nature of our mission, I made sure Xavier swore an oath of secrecy, binding him not to utter a single word about our clandestine endeavor to Anna. His compliance was not optional; I had made it abundantly clear that any breach of trust would result in dire consequences—I vowed to

DANTE As Xavier and I discussed the plan, his optimism was palpable. He readily agreed to take care of the individuals responsible for inspecting the jet. I didn't bother asking him for specifics because if he had managed to eliminate the guards around Anna's cell, I had faith that he would handle this task as well. Xavier instructed us to be prepared tonight since Orlando's departure was scheduled for the morning. He emphasized the importance of our presence at the designated location, ready to execute our mission. A portion of my team had already departed for California to ensure the safety of Anna and Xavier's family, while the remaining members would confront Orlando's men at the airport.Lost in my thoughts, I was interrupted by a knock at the door. DANTEI let out a relieved sigh as I reminisced about Lisa's wild escapades from the previous day. Ah, what a weight off my shoulders! Finally, I could shed the charade of playing the affectionate lover, sparing myself from the obligation to shower her with kisses just to keep her satisfied. The thought of indulging in such acts, which would undoubtedly displease Anna, made me cringe inwardly. Damn I sound pussy whipped.Just as I was lost in my musings, my ringing phone jolted me back to reality. With a mischievous grin spreading across my face, I nonchalantly propped my legs up on the table as I reached for the call button. I knew exactly who it was before even glancing at the caller display. "Hey love, is everything alright?" I greeted her, a hint of curiosity lacing my voice. In the background, I could hear Anna shuffling around before finally responding, her tone laced with a touch of annoyance.
