* Chapter 2: Reborn *
In the darkness, she heard whacking sounds.
" Who is there?" shouted Jasmine in ache. She had died so why is she still feeling pain?
A small boy of about five walked towards her playing a ball. " Mommy look. I will become an awesome footballer one day"
My son?
At this time, she heard another voice in the darkness, the figure emerged into the light. It was her?
Wearing a pink dress looking breathtaking. It was how she looked before she entered that hell of a marriage. " Yes, my son. Come your father is calling "
A beautiful little girl ran towards that version of her and was picked up by a man whose face Jasmine could not see properly. He played with the girl and covered her face with kisses then they had a picnic under a beautiful tree.
Watching this, Jasmine smiled bitterly, tears rushing into her eyes.
Then boom.
The scene changes to a different one in which it appeared it was the oldest son's graduation and his parents held hands as the boy took his diplomat.
Again the scene shifted to another where the couple was now old and their children came visiting with their grandchildren.
" What a lovely family! "a soothing voice emerged from the darkness as the scene ended.
" Who are you? "
"Don't you remember me, my dear? "
Jasmine stared at the Lady's blue eyes which gave her a sense of familiarity. Instantly she felt the burning pain disappear. She was back to normal, her hair was full.
The smile on the lady's face feels.
" I can not believe you joined me too soon my pearl "
Pearl?
" Mom, mom-my " she ran to the woman but a glass separated them. She slammed hard on the glass in longing.
" You are in limbo, my dear. I am in the land of the dead. Don't worry. You won't stay for long "
Jasmine tilted her head in confusion.
"Who are they? "
Smiling, the lady replied " She is you from another universe "
Jasmine's eyes widened in shock. " Is the multi-universe true? "
It was something she watched in movies and only heard of.
The lady nodded vigorously.
" Yes! That Jasmine did the opposite of what you did, she enjoyed life with her loving husband while you were paid in sorrows "
" Are you my mother or hers?" She then asked.
Curtly, the lady answered back "I am your mother. That Jasmine's mother is still alive. "
Jasmine pounded the glass to break it. Her eyes glistering with tears " I want to be with you "
"No, you can't." The latter responded firmly, hiding the pain in her heart.
" Why? " Gazing in awe as a mix of emotions ran up, Jasmine quickly recalled something. She caressed her flat tummy
" _And where is my son?"
Her mother smiled faintly. " His is in another world awaiting your arrival"
Her son was alive! This had to be the best news ever. She had to find him. This ray of hope made Jasmine's heart flutter.
" What? Another world which!" In a frenzy, she pestered.
At this point, her mother smiles warmly. Her fingers crossed " Go now. Your time is running out, six months fix everything in six months and you will share the same fate with that Jasmine"
" Think about where you want to start over " she heard her mother advise before she immersed herself in the darkness.
Suddenly a bright light blinded Jasmine's eyes, in response she closed them instantly, unaware that a hand reached out and grabbed her roughly.
It felt like she was tumbling in a hole with steps made out of thorns and branches huddling the way. Everywhere was dark but the pain was excruciatingly real.
The screams of appeal not very far away and the heat she felt all over her body made the sensation unendurable.
Jasmine could feel a throbbing feeling all over tagged along with a desire to peel her skin. All she could think of was pain and more pain.
How then could she choose where to start over from?
When her mind was fuzzy.
" Ahhhh" she screamed only to find herself in a room with other people.
Walls painted white, a rug laying underneath her feet. The smell of fresh flo gets in through the open window. She sat on a swivel chair gazing at her reflection in the vanity mirror.
A subtle clicking sound from the vintage clock and the atmosphere lightened up with chattering.
A certain perfume hung proudly in the air, memories related to the wearer made her grimace.
Lucia!
Softly, her eyes moved sideways watching the group of busy ladies behind her.
Are they also dead?
Before her thoughts could sprout into something bigger, Linda, Jasmine's sister wore a bridal illusion veil over her head.
Oh right! It was her wedding day, the day everything began.
A strange feeling took over her heart. She did not recall ever thinking of this time.
In truth, she wanted to go back to the period when her mother was still alive. Jasmine wished to prevent her mother's death.
A heavy burden weighed her heart at this failure and a sad sigh escaped from her lips.
She had been reborn, this was the second chance she needed. She had to be grateful.
Jasmine sighed helplessly once more.
Skimming through her reflection, Jasmine glimpsed at the white ball gown wedding dress she wore and her blonde hair was styled into an elegant bun with strands of curled hair at the sides. The makeup on her face was delicate and she looked to breathe taking.
On her neck laid a strange golden locket. She had never seen it before. Jasmine raised it to read the writings on it.
" Begin Again" she stared at the reflection meaningfully.
At this time, Lucia helped her wear faint pink three inches heels adorned with large uncut diamonds.
" Oh my! Jasmine can not stop staring at herself then how will the groom stop? " jested Lucia spraying a substance on Jasmine's hair making it shine.
A wicked glint flashed in her eyes. Lucia smiled cunningly, she had broken the heels of the shoe beforehand to make Jasmine trip.
The whole room burst into laughter, excluding Jasmine who glared at Lucia in hatred.
She had trusted her with such a huge evidence but she gave Carl instead.
How could she ever forget such a life-snatching betrayal?
" I can buckle it myself. You can all leave" her low voice emotionless.
Jasmine remembered that the heels had been tampered with hence she did not want to wear them.
The six ladies stared at themselves in shock. " Why?" They acquired in unison.
" It is your wedding day Annie _let me assist you " Lucia insisted donning a calm smile, secretly gritting her teeth.
At this moment, an indecipherable expression plastered on Jasmine's face" You should all leave except my sister"
They all murmured before leaving. Some cursed at her loudly. " Such a rude girl"
" Simply arrogant! "
Linda stood in shock. Did her sister throw out her friends for her?
Taking notice of Linda's expression. Jasmine replied softly changing the heels " I don't need them. They are all fake "
Linda rubbed her ears to check if she missed hearing.
Wasn't Lucia, Jasmine's best friend so why did she throw Lucia out? She watched her sister reapply red lipstick.
Linda moved forward to whisper " Is she not your best friend?"
Best friend? Jasmine's blood boiled at that appellation. If Lucia what was someone considered a best friend? Then she should have no friends.
" I do not have a best friend" replied Jasmine frankly, pressing her lips together afterward
" And the others? " Linda proceeded while applying her make-up.
Stepping from the chair. Jasmine made Linda sit to help her style her hair.
" They are not my friends!! They are all Lucia's friends" she finally replied after she was done with the styling.
Linda did not believe it. She only hummed while Jasmine continued adorning her.
At least if her sister had come to her sense then all would be fine.
' Beep '
Jasmine's phone rang, the caller id was ' Carl my heartbeat '
She sneered at the name and picked up the phone.
" Where are you? Come and meet me we need to leave,..you can't marry that monster "his voice carried a lot of care and worry. If only sincere.
She felt disgusted at his words and almost spat out blood.
The inside corners of her eyebrows slanted upward " Why? You come and take me. How do you expect me to leave here?" she heard him gulp from the other side.
In the past, she was dumb. She left her wedding to Keith to meet this filthy man in another city.
" Are you afraid?" she inquired waiting for his answer.
She almost laughed out loud. This time she would make sure he ends up in jail. She smiled inwardly.
" No-no darling. I-i...you know Keith he is a dangerous man!" his shaky voice came from the other side.
In a low tone, Jasmine spoke as if helpless " Well! I can't come. I am heavily guarded_ " she pretended to scream and switched off her phone.
Linda watched in shock. Did she not like Carl then why did she not go to him for there was no security?
Rather at this time, Jasmine stared at the bandage on her hand. She had attempted suicide which made Keith promise he would let her go. Today, there was no security at that time because he allowed her to flee.
The service was on the fifteen floors. It will be fun to see how that monster will infiltrate. A smile was constructed on her lips.
They say revenge is best served cold but what was served along with a fracture?
* Chapter 3 : Wedding * The congrégation in the was about a hundred influential people of city Bai. They all came to attend Keith Yates wedding, one of the most requested bachelor. Though many wondered what he saw in Jasmine, a rude short tempered middle class girl. She was from the Lawrence family which had a small lotion manufacturing company in the heart of the city ,they were ants to the elephant ( Yates). Plus, this impudent girl was making them late. With all the controversies surrounding their alignment this was not a shocker. They expected this from her. At the front row both families sat,at the right the groom family and the left bride family. Outside the hall doors, Mr Lawrence paced impatiently he had suspected that his daughter would run away and told Keith rather than increasing security, rather Keith laid off some of her bodyguards. What was going on? If this alliance failed,he would be the mocking stalk of the society. " Where is she?" he immed
* Chapter 4 : Thief * Jasmine gasped. " That is my bracelet " "I told you sister, she is no good " Jasmine sister spoke up as her face contorted in disgust. Was she the only one who saw how evil this Lucia was! George Lawrence who had quiet for a while, waved his dismissively. " Forget about that nuance.Let me get my real daughter married first then deal with her" Lucia begged once more instead one of the guards placed tape on her lips. Then carried her downstairs and dropped her on the floor then called the police. The doors opened this time with silence. They all heard what was going on outside and Lucia had been exposed. The music began and the bride's father accompanied her down the Isle. However, Jasmine was having mixed feelings. She only stayed to proof Lucia wrong because Lucia had did the same in the past and she found out later but still forgave her. Jasmine sighed heavily, she was truly a softer in her last life. How did she find it easy
* Chapter 5: meet cute * " I had loved you ever since you poured paint all over my car" Keith repeated as he recalled. _ _ Flashback Keith had just returned from abroad. On his way home, his father had instructed him to pass by the girl he was betrothed to. So he could at least see what she looked like. He hated this but had to please his parents so they would stop speculating he was gay. Upon arriving, a continuous bag of paint was thrown on his windshield. He wiped it using his cleaners only to find a blonde girl in pigtails in shorts standing in front of his car carrying balls of paint. She was dripping wet from head to toe for she had been playing in the rain. Her face was smudged in paint and her hair too. Bolting from her feet, she rushed to his car window. " I am sorry uncle for doing that to your car. It was meant for my sister " At that moment, something changed in him. For no reason at all, he smiled to make the girl more at ease as she se
* Chapter 6 : Date Jasmine could hear the sound of her heart beating loudly. She took possession of his arm and spoke childishly. " Pick me up " she stretched out her arms like a child pouting her lips, pulling him a bit stronger. It was only because he wanted to be pulled or else she could not have been able to move him at all. After all, that was why he spent ten hours every week in the gym. However, his eyebrows creased upon seeing this. What was she up to? Is she not supposed to be mad at him for kissing her? Yet she was begging and clinging on him. " I think I sprained my leg. '' She averted her gaze to her ankle and then at him pouting pitifully. " Please uncle! " The calm aura s
* Chapter 7: Meeting his family Jasmine froze for some time, memories seeped in a continuous rhythm. Upon seeing the expression on her face, Keith proposed " We could sit that out if you don't like the idea ..." Her mind raced, how could she start over again without making amends for the past? She gagged, a throaty laugh " Grand PADI would spank me if we don't attend. After all, it is our reception" Leaning back, Keith confirmed roaming his hands in his wavy raven-black hair " Are you sure?" Jasmine's hazel eyes gleamed as she stretched out her hand to drink a twig from his glass. " Hundred percent!" Replied without shifting his gaze from the glass she drank from " Then it is settled then ". Keith was still not convinced, he watched her smile steering
* Chapter 8 : Reassuring him Rather than taking her into the hall, he brought her to the garden. She looked up at him in confusion, " I need to speak with a client, wait here" Keith deciphered caressing her cheeks. Jasmine nodded as she took a seat on the swing. Her mind raced as memories of the past rushed in. _ _ Flashback It was seven years ago when she entered this mansion for the first time. At that time, she had been invited over by the Yates. However, she was not interested in respecting the offer but her father persuaded her. She arrived in a stylish t-shirt and torn jeans. She had her hair packed into a clean ponytail. Jasmine had be
* Chapter 9 Happy to see you * Thinking of this, she presided over the pool. Unawares, she felt someone yank her arm. Halting in her steps, Jasmine veered around and saw old master Yates. She intended to bow but the old man pulled her in for a hug. Jasmine reciprocated grand PADI's hug. Jasmine's heart throbbed and her eyes flickered in tears as the dead old man's face overlapped. He was the only Yates apart from Keith who kept tabs on her even after she married Carl. He never hated her and always treated her like his own granddaughter. He would always tell everyone that she was young that's why she constantly made mistakes. Sadly, in her last life, she did not value him till his death. Peeling out of the hug, she asked emotionally " Grand PADI how ar
*Chapter 10 He can't do anything * Striding closer, Carl studied, the facial expression on Jasmine's face. She appeared miserable so it hinted he was still in power. Conceivably, she might be cursing Keith within for beating him. Carl assumed the role of the maltreated boyfriend, who is enduring his pain to make his girlfriend happy. When he saw her he pretended to be sad and then happy, from limping he walked naturally with an effort all over his face to be seen as a victim. His expression did not change, he still had a warm smile on his face and his eyes had that look. The look Jasmine would fall for without any words. Damn! What made her love him? Now the look is so hypocritical. She just wished you her nails to redesign for him. He got closer grabbing Jasmine's hand gently. His touch felt like
Chapter 103: The end At one point, Tatiana was going to end Jasmine's life. As she got closer, a strange force knocked her to the ground faster than the speed of lightning. It was the same power that attacked her before. Like an electric shock. She looked over with a grunt. Her eyes were blazing like fire. " You!" She rushed to attack him, but he fought back with a staff with a sword on the other end. Liam? She launched a plodding attack on his skull. Liam quickly dodged her. A swift shove from Liam on the Fae's chest had little impact. She made a cut at him but missed. Above his blade, the finger-like claws pierced the air. It flickered in and out, low and high, like the tongue of a serpent. That continued for what seemed like a very long time. They moved in both directions. Lucia caught up to Jasmine, who was running away, after noticing that Tatiana was preoccupied and about to lose. She pulled her back down the stairs by grabbing her by the hair. "You
Chapter 102: Finally Revenge "Tatiana?" Muttered Jasmine, shocked. She shook her head helplessly. "The one and only," The Fae grinned. "That day, Carl didn't kill just you. I was hiding in the bushes, recording everything. I can't believe I felt bad for you. Carl made me accuse your father of raping me, and your sister was killed by me. She didn't commit suicide." Taken aback by this confession. Jasmine blinked. Her sister's death was always a mystery to her. She had thought over and over what would make her sensible sister kill herself. And it turned out to be this bitch who caused it. Tears brimmed in Jasmine's eyes. "Why did you do it?" ____
Chapter 101: Basement Killer The party was almost over when Jasmine's phone pinged inside her jacket. It was from a private number. She looked at the message, then her eyes searched for Sydney. Private Number: [If you're interested in knowing the truth, come meet me in the basement alone.] Basement? It meant the person had arrived. Jasmine ran a hand into her hair. She walked over to Sydney, pulling her past people. Now they were alone. "Any news on the car?" "The owner said it was just returned; nothing was stolen and the car was intact. It seems the person only wa
Chapter 100 One day you will be back. Fae walked closer to the kid, about to feast on him with her claws. As she got closer, a strange force knocked her to the ground faster than the speed of lightning. While back at the party, Jasmine watched her sister talk to her friend with happiness. Linda seemed very happy. It made her wonder what would have caused Linda to commit suicide in her past life. No matter how much she investigated, she failed to find anything. Suddenly,an arm slid its way around her waist, holding it firmly. Her body reacted by tensing up, but she relaxed after inhaling his familiar scent. "You know it won't kill you to smile." She teased him, feeling his body linger on hers from behind. He would play the Ken character more with a smile. But her husband
* Chapter 99 Time to put an end to you* A young woman in an asymmetrical red jumpsuit pulled out the cab. She had black, wide-set eyes and waist-length, silky chestnut-brown hair. Before rapping on the massive gate, she gave the driver his tip. Linda suspiciously scanned the area as she knocked on the penthouse's main doors, looking for any indications of a surprise party. But there was silence. perhaps too quiet. The door was later opened from the inside. Instead of Jasmine or Aunty Fe, she was surprised to encounter her moody brother-in-law. He wore jeans and a green shirt with plaiting. He was unassuming, but he was extraordinarily handsome. His bulk obstructs her path. Linda was an introvert as opposed to Jasmine, who was outgoing. She clumsily waved at the enormous
* Chapter 98: Lucia's Free // * Lucia was free. Jasmine could not help but gasp, her breathing becoming erratic. She flung a hand into her hair in utter distress. Taking several deep breaths, Jasmine quickly got into her car. After everything she did to get Lucia implicated, she managed to get herself free. How? Should she call Aunt Fe to ask? Immediately, Jasmine shook the idea out of her head. Aunty Fe was probably celebrating at the moment, and she did not like to stop that by asking questions. By this time, her phone had vibrated in her pocket, and on the screen, a name flashed: ' Dearest sister'.
* Chapter 97 Match Maker* A red Audi drove by—another false alarm. At least that was what Jasmine thought before it stopped at the end of the street. A young, handsome fellow hopped out, clothed in a Gucci suit. Deep brown eyes and pink dyed curly hair His locks were tied in a ponytail, making him seem feminine. "Finally your here." Jasmine huffed, tucking her black shades into her hair. She had been waiting for him for over four hours by the palm tree, as told. "I was teaching you patience, darling." He mocked flipping his hair, showcasing his gold molars. Opening the car,he grabbed a yellow file. This got Jasmine focused; she eyed him as he flipped open the pages wearing an uninterested grin. Now that he was sure
* Chapter 96 Last Night said otherwise.* The first rays of sunlight lit up my room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in. As the sun reflected on Jasmine's face, she winced in disapproval. A hand rose, blocking the sunlight from hitting her face. Seeing her smile in satisfaction, his lips curled. She cuddled sweetly with him. "Good morning, sleeping head, he whispered, placing a kiss on her forehead. The warmness of his lips on her forehead woke Jasmine. As they exchanged glances, Jasmine grimaced as she held the duvet to her bare chest. She was mad at herself for giving her body to him so easily. He might think she was cheap. "Good morning, beautiful," he
*Chapter 95: Do I still have a husband?* After declining all invitations to a celebration from relatives and friends. After visiting her mother's grave, Jasmine went home. She tried contacting the mystery caller more than a hundred times, but it was futile because it was a private number. She had dreams about her mother that night, many of which were flashbacks to when she was still alive. A day later. The phone had already begun to ring as she settled down to read. As she removed the phone from the table, she muttered an expletive. She looked at the caller ID and snapped. She left it back where it had been and let the bell ring. But when the ringing grew more frequent
