“You are not serious, right?”

I gazed into my husband’s darkened eyes. His face hardened like steel as he gave me that contemplative look. But I could tell he was considering it. There was hesitation flashing in his emerald-green eyes.

He knew that whatever memories Randalf asked Melinda to erase, they could be important.

But then my heart sank when he said flatly. “No.”

We were in my room. I had to wait three lonely days until Evander was able to get some rest from those endless meetings and had time to see me again.
