The Unrepentants

I turned my attention to the other men still hanging in the air. They were in no position to threaten me again instead, they were begging for their lives. They were pleading at the top of their voices. Slowly, I approached them.

"Why should I have you released?" I asked them.

"We have changed! W will never go back to our old life again if you give us another chance to live," said one of the Bandits.

"Speak for yourself and not for the others," I told him.

"Alright, mam! I'm a changed person, I will never go back to my old life," he corrected himself.

The others could not wait. They quickly joined to declare how they had changed. Every man was speaking for himself but, was I ready to listen to them? That question was left for me to answer. Their fate was in my hands, as it stands now.

"Why should I trust all of you? Why should I believe all that you are saying? Do you think you could deceive me? Do I look like someone who could be deceived?"
