Her true Identity 2

  Akira fidgeted as soon as Selene asked her that question.

"Dear, why... Are you asking me this? We should talk about something else. Of course, I am.."

  "Why do I feel you are lying to me?"

Her eyes widened, "Lying to you? Selene, how could you say that?"

  "Please tell me the truth, that's what I want to hear mother, that is if you are.."

Akira gulped,, and stopped what she was doing, "Selene my dear.."

  She cut her off, "Just answer me mother. Are you my real mother?"

Akira sighed deeply, "Seems I can not hide it from you any longer. I am not your real mother."

  Selene felt her heart drop into her stomach, "Wh- what?"

Akira went towards her, and held her hand, "I took you from the forest when you were a child, I never knew or met your real parents. I still wonder what made them leave you in the middle of the forest."

  She stumbled backwards, and Akira held her so she wouldn't fall.

  Selene's breathing became hitched, "So.. my parents.." a tear slid down her face, "abandoned me?"

Akira felt so bad, and immediately regretted telling her the truth, "My dear.. I.. can not say. Who knows if they wanted to protect you or something?" She tried to comfort her but Selene would have none of it.

   "It has been a lie all along?!" Her lips quivered as tears dropped from her eyes.

Akira shook her head, "I am so sorry Selene, I thought it would be best if you just thoughts I was your mother, and not find out the truth. I didn't want to hurt you."

   "Where are my real parents? Why would they leave me like that? So they had the heart to leave a baby in the forest?!" She was losing it, and could no longer hold in the toms of emotions she felt.

  "Selene," Akira's eyes filled with tears.

"Why did you not tell me this earlier? So..I am actually a stranger here, I do not belong here."

  "No Selene, you are my daughter. I have taken you as my daughter, you do not have to think otherwise. Everyone here loves you."

   She shook her head, "No, I think I am actually a burden here mother," her eyes were blurred with tears, "I should not be here," her face contorted with anguish, and she fell to her knees.

  Akira bent down to her level, "Stop behaving this way Selene, you are causing yourself pain, and me too. Don't think about it too much, it's actually fine. Forget about them."

  "I can't mother... It hurts to think that my parents would actually leave me all alone, in the middle of nowhere and just go on with their lives?"

  Akira took her hands in hers, "Selene."

Selene raised her eyes to look at her, "Why are you being so worked up? They had their reasons, even though I don't support what they did, you should forget all about it, and just move on."

  "It happened eighteen years ago Selene, why bother yourself so much about it?"

   "Mother," Selene wrapped her hands around her, and broke down into fresh tears.

  Akira patted her back gently, "Don't cry, it's okay, please."

She buried her face in the nook of Akira's neck, and sobbed loudly.

  "Yesterday I had shifted.. without the full moon," she said when she had quietened down a bit.

Akira creased her brows, "Is that so? How?"

"I don't know, but.. I met him," she sniffed, "He was the one who asked me to do this."

"Him? Who did you meet?"

"My mate."

Akira's jaws dropped. Everything was fast, and she couldn't grasp what she was saying.

"I don't get you. First you shifted without the moon, now you.. have met your mate?"

Selene disengaged from her embrace, and sniffed, "I.. my fur was red."

Akira squinted her eyes, "Red? That's so.. Selene, how is your fur red? You must be very special!"

She sighed sadly, "I wish.."

"No, you are," she cupped her face in her arms, "You must have some kind of special abilities. I don't think you are an Omega Selene.."

"Then what am I?"

Akira's eyes widened, "A Luna!" She gasped, her voice barely above a whisper.

Selene drew her head backwards, she wiped her tear stained cheeks, "Luna?"

"I have heard of this prophecy before, I never imagined it would be true!" Her eyes beamed.

"What are you saying mother? I don't understand you," Selene creased her brows.

"The prophecy says that the a particular Luna shall birth the destined Luna who will have the power to rule her pack, and defeat all those who troubles us. It was said, she would be a Red Luna, with actual red fur."

"So.. I am the destined one?" Her eyes widened in shock.

"Yes!"

Selene covered her mouth with her hands, "I don't know what to say," her eyes teared up again.

"With this power of yours, you could find out who your actual parents were."

"Powers? I don't even know how to use them."

"I wish I could show you how to my dear, but I am am omega myself, and I can't really help you."

"Selene is the Red Luna?"

They both turned startled to see who it was. Elias, who stood gawking at Selene.

"Yes my dear, she is the Red Luna. She shifted yesterday without the full moon."

Elias took a few steps forward, "This is wonderful. So that prophecy was never a lie!" His face beamed with joy.

"Selene, do you know we all have our hopes in you? You are going to the the reason our lives will change."

"I'm scared, I don't think I'm cut out for this," she rubbed her arms.

Elias laughed, "You don't have to be cut out for this. You already are the Red Luna, you can't change it."

She pouted, "Do you think my parents would have just left me?"

Akira turned to face her, "What do you mean?"

"What if they were killed?"

Elias' smile disappeared, 'Whoa.. that's am accusation. Who are you accusing?"

She got to her heels, "If I am a Luna, it means I'm royalty, and if I'm royalty, it means I'm connected to the palace."

"So what do you want to do?"

"Find out who I really am."
