“W-what happened!?”

I tried to wrench myself out of Christian’s grip, but he just tightened it even more, stopping me from sprinting towards the other passages that hadn’t closed yet.

“Kian! What did they do to him? Let go of me, Christian!” I growled, glaring at him.

“He’s not Kian! Kian would never hurt you!”

“He is Kian!” I yelled, boring my gaze into him and, with determination, jerked his hands off my shoulders.

I hadn’t even taken a step closer to the passage that was about to close when Christian grabbed my wrist, yanking me away from it until it fully disappeared.

“What the hell!” Turning around, I slapped Christian across his face.

Christian clenched his jaws, his grip still unyielding.

“He is not Kian…” he said in a strangely calm tone. “You should not go back in there. He is going to kill you. And if Kian was here, he would want me to stop you, and that’s what I’ll do.”

I clenched my fists.

“Don’t talk as if Kian is dead,” I grunted through my gritted teeth. Tears b
