“Nothing, honestly,” he shrugged.

“You don’t wanna get out of here?” I asked.

“This prison has good food and a warm floor. What more do you want from life?”

I frowned as he peered at me with a smile.

“I need to know the end of this. I need to know everything you know!” I stepped closer to the bars of his cell.

“You are a Zeke, miss Elffire. You already know everything you need to know to reach the end of all this. You already have all the answers, everything you need to stop the fae lord.”

I knit my brows, squinting my eyes.

“What do you mean?” I asked plainly.

“Have you heard about karma, miss Elffire?”

“Yes.”

“No one in this universe can escape karma. Not even your moon goddess. She can delay her trial, but she cannot escape it. Her karma would find a way to her. It has found a way to her through us. Us who are mere puppets of the universe.”
