Promises

Katherine watched Sean falling to the ground like it was happening in slow motion. Her eyes filled with tears, and she opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

That was not the end she wished for him, even if there was no love between them anymore. He deserved something different. Katherine caught the last glimpse of Camille before she disappeared. The witch ran away like a coward when her plans failed.

A crowd gathered in front of Sean's body. Katherine passed all of them and kneeled next to him. His eyes looked at the sky, so she closed them with her hand. That was how the once mighty Alpha ended his life—enchanted, betrayed, backstabbed.

Katherine looked at the man who was one the light of her life. She knew she was supposed to grieve over him, but somehow she couldn't. But Katherine could do two things.
