Chapter 6: Tainted Reputation

"Boss", Stacy greeted, walking up to Rose.

"What is it?", Rose hissed annoyed.

"Boss, it's a call from Sir", Stacy showed Rose her phone, Nathaniel was calling.

"He must be calling about the contract", Rose thought as she had switched off her phone.

"Pick it and put it on speaker", Rose instructed.

"Yes ma", Stacy did as she was told and placed the phone on the table in front of Rose.

"Do you want to destroy the Andino family reputation? ''Nathaniel yelled once the call got through. "Something as simple as signing a contract and you blew it up", he shouted angrily.

Rose stared at the phone confused," what do you mean?", she asked irritatedly.

Nathaniel hissed, "just go look at how you've disgraced yourself in the media. I don't know how you'll do it but you must make sure they still want to sign the contract with us. I can't let the company's hard work go down the drain because of you", he spat before disconnecting the call.

"How did he know they didn't sign the contract", was the first question on Rose's mind, opening I*******m on Stacy's phone.

Stacy was about to protest but Rose eyed her, and she could only stay still.

Rose's mouth opened in shock,"how did...why is it.....who did this? '',she stammered.

She watched what happened at the lobby just 15 mins ago and was now on the net with over a million views and more than a thousand comments.

"Is this how the Andino's welcome their guests, very bad", someone commented.

"Yh, I can't believe she actually called the guards to throw her out", another said.

"Wow, I can't believe the mysterious lady is Taylor Cosgrove, CEO of TAC Limited. Am so happy and FYI she's my new role model".

"Yh, she is the CEO of the #1 car company and she isn't bossy or rude, unlike the so-called future heiress of the Andino's ".

Rose clicked the link under the comment and the video of the morning at the cafe started playing. With a lot of views and comments under.

Rose turned red with rage as she almost tossed Stacy's phone but Stacy was quick to grab it.

In just 15 mins the whole world found out what happened and painted her a bad person.

"Whoever is responsible for this will pay".

"Tell the PR department to take down all the videos from all social media platforms and sites", Rose instructed, her eyes full of rage.

"And also tell the finance department to pay the fine".

"But... ma, Sir had told them not to pay for the fine", Stacy said hesitantly.

Rose hissed annoyed, she knew exactly what Nathaniel was upto, he wanted her to pay for the fine herself.

"Tell them to pay, and deduct it from my salary", Rose said through gritted teeth.

Stacy nodded and walked away, things had gone from bad to worse.

At the Andino mansion

"I told you that girl wasn't fit to handle the business", Gabriel said, looking calm unlike Nathaniel who was riled up.

"You did dad but don't worry dad, she'll deal with it", Nathaniel assured, the Old Man just nodded.

Gabriel watched the video again, his mind on the woman-the CEO of TAC Limited. There was just something about her.

Kate sat on her bed, reading the comments as she laughed. When her phone made a ding, Rose had paid the fine.

Kate smirked,"well, that didn't take time".

Kate continued to read the comments when she saw one.

"Hey!, Stop taking down the videos. It won't change what has happened".

"Yh, instead of trying to take them down, you should come defend yourself. Oh yeah, what's there to defend cause you know you're wrong", another said.

"You can try to cover up your bad deed, but that doesn't hide the truth".

“The netizens acted just like she wanted, Rose was abused while she was praised”.

Kate switched off her phone. “Dealing with Rose was stressful”, she thought with a yawn.

She laid on her bed, placing her head on the pillow and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

At Fast Tech Limited

Rose slumped on the sofa in her office. She had just finished a meeting with the shareholders, as they were threatening to withdraw their shares since the contract was lost.

She was able to pacify them but Mr George wasn't convinced. He was too adamant on withdrawing his shares, and even announced he was going to sell them.

Rose just scoffed, that greedy old man. He was doing it intentionally and was selling it for an outrageous price. She didn't care, moreover his shares weren't worth much.

She had other things to worry about like convincing Taylor to sign the contract. She still found it hard to believe she was the CEO of TAC Limited.

Speaking of Taylor, Rose grabbed her phone and called a number.

"Hello, I’m Rose Andino, and I heard you have the best investigators ``,.

"Yes ma'am ", a man's voice answered.

"I want to hire one, a private investigator", Rose said seriously.

"No problem ma'am, It will cost you a lot......".

"I don't care, I want a private investigator as soon as possible ", Rose said impatiently.

"Very well ma'am, he'll get to work", the man assured and Rose nodded.

"The subject ma'am”,

"Taylor Cosgrove, and this must be kept a secret. No soul should find out", Rose warned.

"I understand ma'am, no one will find out", the man assured, the line went dead.

“Time to find out who Taylor Cosgrove really was?”, she thought, a cunning smile on her face.
