The wind stopped instantly. Just the way it began. Elena got up slowly and walked towards the woman.
“Hi Elena,” her guardian angel said. Elena had stuck to calling her ‘her guardian angel’. She didn’t know the woman’s name and couldn’t ask her. She didn’t even care what the woman’s name was. She was just glad to have someone she could talk to. Someone who knew about her previous life.
Elena rang the bell to her parent’s home. She didn’t have a key and they were not expecting her. She had acted on impulse when she turned the car around. Now as she stood on the steps, she found herself shifting from one foot to the other. She was nervous. Her heart raced. Because of what she was about to do.She was going to escape into Susan. Or at least try to.She rang the bell again. It was taking them a while to answer the door. Finally, Susan showed up.“sweetheart. Come on in.” Susan had a big smile on her face. The sight of her daughter always warmed her heart.“I couldn’t get the door earlier. I was in the bathroom.” Susan explained her delay in answering the door.“sure mum. That’s okay.”“We weren’t expecting you,” Susan stated“Yeah, mum. I just thought I’ll swing by. I didn’t want things to keep being awkward. Especially after our last meeting.”“honey. Things can never be awkward. You are my child and I am there for you regardless. Plus I was a
It was Saturday morning and the friends were meeting at Vanessa’s place later that afternoon. Vanessa woke up early that morning to make some beef kebab. That was her specialty. She was very good at it. She liked to marinate it overnight with hot barbeques sauce, some salt, onions, and sweet peppers. She already did that the previous night and so she woke up to put them into the grill. She had ordered some wine and Carrie was bringing popcorn and doughnuts. Nicole was bringing a salad. Nina was bringing a pie and some muffins. Elena was bringing…. Well, Vanessa paused. She hadn’t told Elena to come with anything. She didn’t want to bother her much. But as Vanessa started her grill, she wondered if that had been a good idea. Normally, Elena would have liked to bring something. She now realized that Elena may feel left out. So Vanessa decided to call her. Ask her if she could come with something. Vanessa dialed Elena.
Sunday lunch with her parents was nice. They talked and had a good time as a family. Elena got to learn more about her parents and their company. Her parents even informed her of the annual general meeting that was coming up in April. Elena had expected the meeting to be uncomfortable. Especially after her previous escape episode, which she had done with her mother. But it hadn’t been. It seemed as though, Susan didn’t even remember it. She didn’t bring up the topic of Cameroon with her dad. She didn’t think it was appropriate. This was their time to spend with their daughter and she wasn’t going to deny them that opportunity. Or distract them from it. So she waited till when her dad, Dave escorted her to her car. She waited till then to bring up the topic. Dave walked his daughter to her car. “hope you had a nice time?” he asked her. “yes, I did. It was lovely dad. I enjoyed it. “so go ahead, I know you have been dying to ask
Monday went by quickly for Elena. She had expected a slower day. A day where she couldn’t concentrate at the office but it was the exact opposite. Vanessa had booked three client meetings that day so they had both gone from one meeting to the other and by the time Elena realized it, it was already 4.00 pm. She hadn’t even had any lunch. She shut down her computer and left for the day. She was tired. She texted Austin as soon as she got home. Reminding him to pass by her place the next day. Austin acknowledged. She bought a book, a romance novel. It was a best seller and yes she liked it. But it was just a cover. A reason to get Austin over to her place. She also printed out two copies of her best photos. She put the photos between the novel and set them on her table as she entered her apartment. Then Tuesday morning came. Elena had informed them at work that she wasn’t coming in that day. Neither was she working from home. She was taki
Elena sprang out of her couch. Her escape episode into Toni was over. But that wasn’t the reason why she jumped up from her couch. She jumped up because she heard a strange noise. Someone was opening the door to her apartment. She could see his frame through the glass. It was a guy.She ran to get her spatula. That was the only thing she could think of to serve as a weapon then she hid behind her couch and watched the man enter the apartment. He walked towards her. She ducked further.“Elena? are you home?” The guy spoke loudly. She didn’t respond.“honey, did you go for a run?”No response still. She watched him take out his phone and dial. Her phone started to ring. Her phone was on the couch. Then she got up slowly. He must be someone she knew before the accident because he obviously had a key and had her number. Plus he had called her honey.“hey,” she said as she stood up fully. He turned around.“oh, honey. There you are.”
By Tuesday night, the bell to Elena’s apartment rang. She wasn’t expecting anyone. She was getting her daily night routine done. Getting ready for bed. The bell rang again. She was already in her nightgown so she grabbed a robe and threw it across her body.

Dec 1st, 2013.In Sydney, Australia.Elena and Cameroon’s wedding day.It had been a long four months of wedding planning for Elena. Susan was going all out, helping her daughter plan the perfect wedding. The food, guest list, dresses, and all. But Susan wasn’t the only one, her friends too were helping. Every step of the way. All hands on deck. They had only four months to plan the perfect Billionaire wedding. But one thing everyone all agreed on from the start, was the location of the wedding. They were having it on Elena’s yacht. It had to be. It was the perfect location. Within that four months, Elena had gone house shopping with her soon-to-be husband, Cameroon and they had found the perfect home.It was a six-bedroom bi-level home. And Elena fell in love with it.It was the perfect fit. They had found out they were having triplets and so they needed a big home. The house was spread on a wide acre of Land. But some
Elena sat at the back seat of the Bentley. She had texted her friends to let them know she was on her way. And they confirmed that they were already there. waiting.
Sunny Friday afternoon- check.Cameras- check.Shopping bags- check.Five friends- check.Credit card- double-check.All items were checked as the five friends headed out on Friday to prepare for the dinner that was happening the next day. Carrie was the designated driver for the day. She picked everyone from their homes in her range rover. The friends had all screamed over the phone when Elena had told them the good news. She still felt weird that she was telling them before she told Cameroon but it already happened. Now they were all in Carrie’s car, riding to the first stop.Elena’s friends were all quick to jump on board. Just like Vanessa had been. And she noticed that too. They all seemed so eager.“So where’s our first stop?” Nicole asked as she entered the car. She was the last person to join them.“massages first, I already booked us an appointment at t
Elena leaned backward into her toilet seat and peed on the stick. She closed her eyes and waited. Counted even. And it turned out again with the positive sign. She had peed on six different sticks already. This was the seventh stick. And it was also positive.Jeez, she swirled around. She laughed, she cried. Nit painful tears but soft happy tears. She was pregnant. With Cameroon’s child. She was engulfed with a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. She wanted to run out to tell him but she was at her own apartment. Elena picked up the phone to call him and stopped herself. No, this wasn’t something she was going to tell him over the phone. She was going to tell him in person.Without a doubt, Elena knew that Cameroon was going to be excited about the news. Just as she was. Her parents were going to be excited too. And her friends! Oh her friends will be too. She placed her hands over her stomach. Straining to see if she could feel the ba
It had been three months since Elena broke things off with Jake. She hadn’t heard from him the whole time. But her friend, Nina had come to her. Nina had taken her to lunch on a sunny Monday afternoon. The meeting wasn’t planned, especially since the girls had gotten together for their usual weekly hangouts. But Elena hadn’t thought much about it. When she received Nina’s text. She simply nodded and drove to the location Nina had asked them to meet.By the time she arrived, Nina was already there. Under a square umbrella. Nina. Nina stood up and waved immediately she caught sight of Elena. And Elena walked to her table.“this early lunch is on you by the way.” Elena joked as she approached her friend.“hahaha. No Probs, Elena. It is nice to see you.”Elena pulled out a chair and sat in it. “it is nice to see you too, even though I saw you two nights ago.” She
Jake was in his home, alone in his thoughts. He had been binging on some movies the night before. It was a Friday night and he had wanted to talk to her. He had picked up his phone so many times but ended up putting it back down.He wanted her to come to him. He wanted her to choose him.And it was beginning to take forever. That made him sad. So he had sat in front of his TV, blocking everything out, and watched several shows till he fell asleep. He woke up the next morning, on his couch. He checked his phone first, no call had come in for him. Then he made his way to the bathroom. Before reaching the bathroom, his doorbell rang. His heartbeat surged. He guessed who it could be. He wasn’t expecting anyone and hadn’t made any orders. But he flung open the door. And there she was, Elena. He grinned. “come on in.” She accepted the invitation and stepped in. The smell of her perfume surrounded him as she came in. She clutched her bag li
The wine Cameroon had come with had a rich taste. Just like she had expected it to. It was a fourteen-year-old bottle made from one of the best wine yards in France.Elena poured herself another glass. Still silent. Her candle still burning. She started to play with his nipples. And Cameroon Jerked. He swallowed again.“Babe,” he whispered.“yes.”“I want to get to know you.”“This is you knowing me.” She teased. He could see the laughter in her eyes. She got up from the couch, set her glass on her desk, and stood in front of him.He looked up at her.She started to unbutton her shirt. She paused at the first button. And teased him some more with her eyes.Slowly, she opened one button after the other. Till she got to the end and then she slipped off the shirt. Her shirt fell to the ground. And spread. She took her hands to her back and unclasped her br
Friday arrived. It was a date night for Elena and Cameroon. And the perfect night. The night was slightly chilly. And the wind was stronger than usual.Elena had spent most of her day in the office. Preoccupied with work. She had caught up on almost all the backlogs and was the only person still in the office. The last person to leave checked out an hour ago. Even the cleaning service had finished up for the day.But not Elena. She was still working. Elena wasn’t exactly a workaholic, but on this day, she simply wanted to pour out herself till she was empty. She had started out the day with a lot of backlogs. That was one of the reasons. And the other reason? She was distracting herself. From thinking about him. Not him, Cameroon. But him, Jake. She had tried so hard to sleep the previous night. But had ended up staying late till 4.00 am and she was up again at 7.00 am.She couldn’t stop her brai
