“Come in.” He said gruffly, his face only softening when the scent of his mate filled the room and eventually her face came to view.

“Someone’s grumpy.”

He sighed, rubbing his hand on his face, “Can’t I resign already?”

His mate gasped, “You’re tired of being the Alpha of our pack? How could you even say such a thing?”

He chuckled at her dramatics, “I see where our Claude learned it from…Speaking of Claude…”

“She’s with her mate.” She said before he had a chance to voice out his questions on why he hadn’t seen her for an entire day.

His face darkened briefly before he let out a sigh, running his hand through his hair, “If she’s forgiven him then I should too, shouldn’t I?” He asked and it sounded more like a debate with himself than a question to her. “And he’s an Alpha no less. At least for the sake of his pack…I know how much a Luna means to a pack. Our pack would fall without you.” He said to his mate, drawing her in.

Before she could respond though, a knock sounded at the door and
