CHAPTER NINETY NINE

When Claude got up to their room later that night, Denver wasn't there. She had eaten dinner alone too and when she had asked of him they said he was busy in the study with the Beta over pack matters. She sighed and shut the door behind her, the silence making her heart heavier and heavier.

She peeled her clothes of her body and took a long bath in the bathroom hoping Denver would come in at sometime but when he still hadn't and the water had begun to turn cold, she washed herself clean and stepped out. She eyed the door, wondering if she should go to him and ask him what was it that she did but she decided to give him the benefit of doubt. Perhaps he was just tired on their way back and perhaps, he really had a load of work to take care of right now.
