CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

FREDERICK POV

I left Aurora's room depressed. I thought that I will be able to convince her to bring getting married forward since it seems she didn't get kidnapped like I had hoped but I left her room disappointed.

She doesn't want to get married right now because she's still focused on getting winning the competition and becoming the Alpha. Or maybe she's just lying to me. All of this is a big fat lie and she doesn't want anything to do with me. I don't even know what to think anymore.

She seems like she's into me, and then she seems like she's not.

I even goaded her with a lie, telling her that Kate told me that she saw her meeting with someone because I want her to give herself away but she didn't fall for it. She stood her ground and called me on my lies.

She even accused Kate and I of betraying her. Of course Aurora had no idea how close she wad to the truth when she said that. But she doesn't know.

At least not now. Not until I get what I want from her.

I must have lost my mind for a second when I made the decision to go after her. I don't even have any feelings for her even though she's my mate. Or do I? No! There's no way it's possible! There's no way that I feel anything for that rude and arrogant wolf who thinks that she's better than everyone. Just then, someone knocked on my door. I wanted to tell whoever it was to get away but i knew that I could not. Maybe it was someone the elders sent. I can't blow off the elders now because they haven't decided when they are going to make me Alpha. Thinking of thier stupid ultimatum was really giving me a headache. I think that right now is not the time for you to care about what you want. You should be thinking how you can make her your Luna and take control of the pack!" Nolan sighed.I took a deep breath. Nolan knows how important bring the Alpha is to me so he's giving me some good advice here. But I just can't see myself with that she wolf at all. I can't stand her for the life of me. "I can't stand her. Have you been listening to the things I've been telling you? She's the worst out there! She's insistent on getting on my nerves!" I said to Nolan. "I'm sure she feels the same way about you" Nolan said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Calm down, I'm just pointing out the obvious. Do they really have to do this all the damn time?!put pressure on me so that they get what they want? "Hello Elders. How can I help you this afternoon?" I asked as I took my seat among them. "I think you already know how you can help us. You only have a few days to the deadline. Why haven't you found your mate yet? Do you think that we were playing with you when we said that you won't get to be the Alpha if you don't find your mate as soon as possible?" One of the elders asked me. He was the youngest among all the elders and yet he was being so rude to me just because I am officially the Alpha yet. I had a polite smile on my face as I counted down all hr times they've disrespected me. I just have to become the Alpha first. I'll find a way to make all of them pay for the disrespect! CHAPTER TWENTY NINEAURORA'S POVI was having dinner with my dad, step mother and Kate. Frederick had joined us for some reason. He was sitting next to me and picking out food for me. Clearly, he wants to suck up to me and convince me to date him and take him seriously again. I really had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. Why did I not know that the wolf that i was in love back then was such a coward? I treated him as a germ when there's nothing good about him at all. "Aurora, I heard from Kate that you shouted at her when she was just asking you how you were when you came back. Why? What happened to you? I know that the stress of the competition has been putting a strain on you but you just can't yell at your sister like that. Better yet, if you know that you can't take on the responsibilities of being the Alpha, you should give up on the competition now. Give it up so someone else who can do it does it. Anyway you are a she wolf. You'll never be strong as a man!" My step mothe

First of all, your dad is trying to do what's best for us without attracting suspicions to himself and us! You see the way Aurora has been acting lately? You think that Aurora won't find out if we plan to kick her out of the competition? Of course she's going to know! And when that happens, we will be the ones kicked out!
