As she looked at the crowd hovering around them, she frowned.

“All of you may go rest now, no need to stand around here.” There were things Gu Xi wanted to discuss with Xing Beiyan so having so many people around made her feel quite uncomfortable.

Everyone froze at this and stared at Xing Beiyan subconsciously.

He nodded calmly.

Once everyone had left, Gu Xi heaved a heavy breath and opened her mouth to speak.

“Darling, there’s something I want to talk to you about.” She carefully glanced at him, as if worried he would not want to talk.

“Did you really think it through?” Xing Beiyan’s expression darkened as he asked through gritted teeth.

Gu Xi was shocked; how did he know what she was thinking of doing?

However, to not anger him, she nodded her head.

This nodding of hers seemed to have lit a fuse because Xing Beiyan stood up abruptly and spat, “It’s up to you!” before he rushed upstairs.

Gu Xi shuddered when she heard the door upstairs slam shut with a long bang.

Oh my, she merely wanted to go back to school. Why did Xing Beiyan get so angry?

Was he worried that she would cross paths with that scumbag, Han Lei?

After all, that man was still a fourth-year university student, so Gu Xi would be studying in the same university as him.

Gu Xi could guarantee that she would definitely never interact with him but there was no saying that Xing Beiyan would not be worried that she still liked Han Lei.

She was anxious; their relationship was finally taking a turn for the better, seeing how Xing Beiyan treated her so kindly in the morning. However, she had just made him angry.

After looking at the delicious dishes on the table, she realized that she had completely lost her appetite. Gu Xi put some of the food into a bowl before she carefully made her way to the second floor.

“Darling? Are you inside?” she asked as she knocked on the study’s door.

Xing Beiyan was shocked upon hearing her voice. He immediately threw the cigarette in his hand away before he hastily gargled a few times with water. He then proceeded to open the door with a sour face.

“Let’s talk about it outside.” He controlled his expression, hoping to get her out of the house before she lost her temper.

“We can talk about it here,” Gu Xi said with a pout. Although she disliked him smoking, now was not the time for her to get angry about it.

That bad temper of hers had completely disappeared right after she had passed away.

Besides, she would never lose her temper at him.

The relationship between them was already on the brink of collapse.

Gu Xi suddenly remembered that before she had killed herself in her last life, Xing Beiyan had agreed to a divorce. The Gu family had shown up after, which threw her plans off entirely.
