chapter 12: Same locket

“This is mine!” Sonia said as she stared intensely at the locket.

Mrs. Jordan was annoyed with Sonia's uncultured behavior, but didn't voice out her displeasure. She was pleased that her son is no longer attached to the waste.

“Of course, it is. It's specially made for the Williams.” Grandfather Williams affirmed not understanding why she had such a reaction.

Sonia stared at the locket totally ignoring everyone. How was she supposed to explain that she had the same locket as Anna and the only difference was the picture inside?

The locket had been her prized possession and was forcefully collected from her by the cult.

A tear slid down her cheeks as she remembered her ordeal. It was still fresh in her memories. The five years old Anna had slept in her room and woke up in an unfamiliar environment. Her only solace was her locket which she shared with her mother, and it was forcefully collected from her despite her pleads.

“What's wrong?” Grandfather Williams asked anxiously,
