Chapter 65.

Kaden

I was still pacing even while in the car.

"Come on, you've got to calm down. You're not helping matters at all. We will get there very soon!" Brandon advised but I was anything but calm.

My wolf wouldn't let me be and my mind in addition was heavily concerned about what was going on in my Pack right now. I could only imagine what must have happened since the guard had mindlinked me. Something told me that the situation might be even worse at the moment.

I just hoped that My Pack wouldn't be subdued by those filthy rogues, I hoped I would get there on time and deal with the enemies who were doing everything to have everything I've worked for demolished in the blink of an eye.

The journey, per say, was quite tense as I fought the worries that clogged my mind. The engine of the car provided a backdrop to our conversation which came occasionally.

"Can you just calm down?!" I growled at my wolf, already sweating from the discomfort he was caus

Look, dear, it doesn't matter how long you do it. As long as you can get it done correctly for an amount of time, it will compound in the long run and very soon you're going to keep getting better and better until you finally get in touch with your wolf. It's that simple but you've got to give it time my dear." That was the one-thousandth time she was drumming those words into my ears today, and it was pissing me off, I wasn't going to lie about that. "Ok?" She said, chuckling when a smug smile crept up my face. I closed my eyes again, trying to shut out everything happening on the outside and focus on my inner being. But as soon as I closed those eyes, my thoughts drifted off t

Chapter 67. KadenPain, agony and torture. Those were the things that we faced in the dark, dank cell that offered no atom of hope as we went through all sorts of punishment. I wondered how I would have to go through it all before we would be released. I still regretted the fact that I didn't listen to her, and every now and then I gnashed my teeth in grime and thought about what I was going to do. The days blurred into endless nights and each night was marked by the relentless pain was inflicted on me by Denisson and the rest of the time, his guards. My thoughts were broken when the door opened to reveal Dennison. He had a wide smirk on his face as he approached us, his footfall resounding resounding over the room. He had a rod on his hand and on the other side was a whip. I bowed my head as I anticipated another session of nothing but pure pain as he carried out his sadistic desires. "Gentlemen." He chuckled, taking the seat that was already placed by the sid

Chapter 68. ReeneSitting in the plush indoor forest of Hezen was something only the royalties could access. It was a therapy of its own because of the peaceful, tranquil nature of the place and the beauty that it exuded, not to mention the exotic flora which provided a stark contrast to the turmoil that was presently going on in the Pack. I wished things were way better than they were now. I wished we could.go back to the old days when everything was right and the world hadn't gone mad like it was right now. I watched as the waterfall in the distance hummed. There were geese that added to the beauty which went quite well with the green. I was seated by my mother on a bench. We were the only ones in here and every access to the woods had been blocked because we had a special program, as she was still teaching me how I was going to awaken my powers. She was very happy with the fact that I was getting way better very fast. There was no doubt now that I had in

Chapter 69. ReeneThe whole place was silent for a while as we all came to terms with what was facing us. Alpha Dennison, however, broke the silence a few minutes later. "We don't have to kill ourselves, we don't have to shed blood. We can be smart, and do so the right way. But if you insist we do it the old way, then who am I not to agree to that?" A sickening smile covered his face, and I stifled the urge to puke.Dennison yelled from the distance, producing a scythe from his garment and holding it across Alpha Kaden's throat. It was attached to a chain so if he pulled the chain, his head would come rolling off. I growled at the sight, unable to contain my rising anger. "Would you love to see his head on a pike?" Dennison asked, looking at me. "Of course not, young lady. I know you wouldn't want to see him dead. And that's why I am giving you this one-time offer to do this the right way and we can avoid getting ourselves killed. It doesn't make sense that way

Chapter 70. KadenI blinked, trying to see what was in front of me but I couldn't see beyond my nose. There was no moon so the night was as black as charcoal. I turned around again, the air whipping my head as I tried to make out what the hell was going on here but it seemed quite impossible. It felt as though I was trapped in a nightmarish world, because I kept seeing shadows and eerie patterns and whispers of dread echoing through the void. I carefully took a step, cracking a twig in the process. The sound resounded throughout the void, causing me to stiffen immediately. Despite not seeing anything, I knew that there was something here in the dark, and I had to do my best to make sure I was not detected or that was going to be my end. The forest seemed to also go silent immediately. I turned back and in the edges of my vision I began seeing shapes lurking. They were indistinct but my instincts told me that they were menacing as well. "Fuck!" I whispered, but t

Chapter 71. KadenI looked outside the bay window by side, watching the vast exposed of the pack lit up by the torches that were placed almost everywhere. Seeing things like this made my heart warm because it showed that everybody was ready to defend the Pack and deal with the enemies that tried to plague us with all sorts of attacks. We were preparing for the war against Alpha Dennison and the witches. We were leaving tonight, and the preparation, therefore, was in full swing. I was still damn angry at what he had done to me and I was ready to make him pay horribly for the things he had done. This was just going to be an introductory anticholinergic compared to what others would face if they tried doing anything to disturb the free flow of the activities in my Pack. I grabbed my sword from the table where I had placed it, brandished it to check its sharpness before carefully putting it in its sheath. I couldn't wait to get to Dennison, the fact that you never saw hi

Chapter 72. ReeneMy mouth widened in shock at the sight before me. The whole crowd gasped and so did my mother. Kaden quickly turned back into his human form, a bit of a smirk on his lips. "Let's go!" He said before he began walking towards us. I watched the headless figure of Gaius still sprawled there on the ground. I couldn't speak to him because it must have been a very hard time for him. The fact that Gaius was somebody he once looked up to as a father figure must be very painful as he had killed him. I felt an inner turmoil because of the empathy he must be feeling at the moment. Without hesitation, I quickly followed him and we all walked out of the arena. The whole place was still in shock and everybody was still rooted to their spot, except for the guards who were moving towards the corpse of the old man to get him ready to be buried. As soon as we were out of the amphitheatre, I couldn't help but approach him immediately. I knew it must be a hard time

Chapter 73 KadenThe battle between ring and Alpha Dennison continued to rage on, and somehow it seemed to transcend time itself. I was very tense with what was going on because sometimes Alpha Denison seemed to be winning, but soon enough she got the upper hand and began dealing with him. That was the only thing I enjoyed seeing. Everyone behind me was equally worried about what the outcome of the battle between the two arch enemies was going to be. "Do you think we made the right choice by allowing her to fight Alpha Denison?" I asked, looking back at Aurel who didn't look quite satisfied by what he was seeing. The sight of him looking at the battle that way made my heart jump. "Of course not, Kaden." He replied, seemingly absent minded. "I know the vengeance she seeks won't let her lose. She will come out victorious. I can feel it." He said, before flashing me a smile. I looked back at Königin Zemirah. There was no doubt that she was aching deeply inside. T

Everyone was trying to leave for the wedding and with Kaden getting on my nerves, I had no idea if we were going to be able to catch up with the wedding service. I needed to be there before the wedding so I could talk to her and offer the advice I could. I stopped for a while, listening for a footstep but i heard none. I was beginning to simmer. "Honey! We are going to be late! Come on." I yelled, shaking my head. Amber was soon running down the stairs. "Where's your brother?" I asked, stretching my hand across the stairs to stop her from running. "And please don't run down the stairs anymore, okay?" I said to her, giving her a gentle pat on the cheeks. She nodded before replying. "He's with daddy." I glanced down at the luggage. There were no guards in sight to help me with it so i just had to wait until Kaden was down. He had always complained ab

She was outside playing with Ichabod and something had bumped her tiny feet.Thankfully she was able to steady herself before she bolted off again in full tilt, her tiny legs carrying her with boundless energy. "Goddess." I muttered, knowing I had to go get her immediately before something worse happened. I quickly stood up from the window side where I was seated. "She's just like his father, they never rest. You should let her. " My mother said, smiling the moment she knew what was happening. "I'm not taking the chance mother." I said, hurrying towards the door before she said something else to stop me. I could hear her laughter as I walked through the passageway, en route to the outside. A tender smile crossed my face the moment I saw Ichabod running after her. They were chasing a butterfly and the moment she caught it, they admired it for a while, the laughter ceasing. She flashed a grin the moment

My nerves tingled with anticipation and excitement as the stylists scurried around me, each performing the specific tasks they had been employed to carry out. I had been dreaming of this day, ever since he mated me, it would seal the relationship between Kaden and I forever. I could feel nimble fingers brushing my hair as my makeup was being applied. "Your hair is absolutely gorgeous." Jane, the blonde hairdresser complimented, but I knew it was a hyperbole. My hair was great, but absolutely gorgeous? No. "We are thinking of weaving in some braids, what do you think?" She asked, the rest of her words were carried by a loud bang that emanated from the door as another stylist walked into the room. "I'd love the braids, be fast about it though. We don't have all day." I said, admiring my hair hair the mirror. "And your makeup, I am thinking of a soft, smoky look." "Just do your thing Jan

Chapter 92. ReeneMy eyes fluttered open and the world gradually began to come into focus. I tried to sit up but the pain in the lower half of my stomach reminded me that it was best to stay still for now. My mind was still clogged with what happened before I fell asleep and as the memories started to rush in I couldn't help but be emotional. I remember everything from how Kaden had successfully rescued me from the hands of Mateo and how the contraction had begun and how I had passed out as soon as we got back to the park. I had no idea of how everything else happened but I guess we were here. My mind was still filled with lots of thoughts and I could not think straight at the moment. That was the moment something struck my mind. "Kaden? Is he in danger?" I asked myself, remembering how Mateo had ordered his men to have him shot. My thoughts were just a jumbled mess and I couldn't quite piece everything together. That was the moment I turned my head to my right and to

Chapter 91. KadenI was standing face-to-face with Mateo and I knew right there and then that the moment had come. The air was filled with anticipation and as I looked back at my men. I knew that they were going to do everything to make sure that my mate was safe. They were all carrying their weapons, ready to carry out my orders if I gave any. The fate of my mate was in the balance, and I knew that any little mistake could cause everything to crash down, so I was going to make sure that we took this gently, considering the kind of evil person that Mateo was. There was no doubt that he could do everything as long as he got what he wanted and in dealing with such kind of people you had to be very careful. We continued to stare at each other for a while and the gears continued to turn in my head while I thought about what I was going to do to him. I prayed for a brain wave, something that would have me attack him before he even knew what was going on. But I also suspected

Chapter 90. Kaden The only sound that could be heard in the room was the clashing of sword against sword as we prepared to embark on our journey to rescue Reene. We made sure to get everything ready and inspect if there was anything we were leaving behind thankfully there was nothing remaining. The morning had been a very restless one since the mysterious man had interrupted our breakfast with the spine-chilling news. At this moment I still remembered how the man had run into the room with a very worried look on his face. After that he claimed that he had zeen Reene being abducted and taken into a cave in the northmost part of the woods. We had all stopped eating in shock because this was the second time that it was happening. The first time it had happened, the men had killed themselves, and now this. The only mistake I had made was thinking that this was going to be a different situation, but in the end, it turned out to be wrong. The other descriptions that he

Chapter 89. ReeneNot long after the incident a group of men brought a plate of food and dropped it in front of me. Before leaving the room they all made sure to say one wild thing or the other just to make sure that I was disheartened. I wondered what they gained from making me uncomfortable not minding the situation that I have found myself in. I wondered how things would turn out in the next few days now that I have been caught. I instinctively knew that their punishment was going to be very bad. But I knew I had to endure the whole thing until I was rescued from this horrible cave. After making fun of me, the men began to walk out of the room once they began hearing footsteps. I knew it was Mateo but actually he did not come anywhere near the room. I sat there in the darkness and the silence staring at the place of food on the floor. They had tied my hand just to make sure I ate in the most degrading way possible. My heart was filled with hatred and anger as

Chapter 88. Kaden I was seated in the dining room and despite the noise that was going on around me I was so lonely and felt like a ghost. The room was filled with the aroma of freshly prepared food but I knew that eating we just felt like I was pouring ashes into my own mouth. I could not eat because my heart was shattered. I looked up again at the table to see the pastries, grapes and all other sorts of food that was scattered around it because none of it appeared to me at all. I could not eat because my heart was filled with guilt and the Guilt no matter how much I tried to state a side continued to gnaw at me from the inside. It felt as though I was being ripped apart from inside because how could I sit here and try to eat while my mate and my unborn child were in the captivity of an enemy who I knew nothing about. The worst part of the whole thing was that the enemy who had abducted my maids had not offered any kind of Ransom and it was clear that they wanted he
