CHAPTER 21

VALERIE'S POV

One thing I like about my parents is that they carry each other along. They always do things together. My parents don't hide anything from each other.

I remember while I was growing up, they always go up to the roof of the house every night, but I never cared to find out why.

I came back from school, looking so exhausted. I couldn't do my assignment, so I went to bed.

It was midnight, I woke up because I was hungry. I knew I didn't eat anything before going to bed. I rushed down to the kitchen, mom actually brought out my portion of food and covered it.

I only had to put it in the microwave to make it hot. After eating, I remembered I had an assignment to make and I needed mom's laptop to do that.

I went towards the door to their room. I knocked three times but I didn't get any response. I tried the knob of the door and it opened. I didn't see mom nor did I see my dad.

I knew they must have gone to the roof again. But what are they always doing up there? I c
