While Sophia stood in the doorway and gawked openly, Eleanor pushed Henry away. He gave a displeased grunt, but she ignored that and shot up from the couch, putting space between them.

As he looked at her, the breath she was trying to catch deserted her all over again when she saw his eyes. For a moment, his dark eyes flickered with a golden hue, as if his wolf wanted to break through.

Eleanor could see his struggle to control his animal instincts in his stiff posture and furrowed brow.

It seemed like forever before he fully composed himself and she finally managed to sigh in relief.

How could be? Why was his wolf so attracted to her? Did his wolf sense something special from her?

She was eager to get the answer but her wolf had no sign of waking.

Maybe it wasn’t the time yet, she thought.

Eleanor walked to the door and met Sophia halfway. It was only a few moments, but Eleanor was worried that Thomas would be the next person to show up at the door.
