Lyra POV

I leaned forward, focusing on Julianna's training. "We just need to find a way to focus your mana in one direction."

Julianna raised an eyebrow. "You make it sound easy."

"Controlling your powers will prevent another full-time pulse," I explained. "Right now, your mana leaves your body unchecked, causing you to constantly faint.. Mastering control means help to prevent that."

Scott grinned mischievously. "Fun times."

Julianna resigned. "Fine, let's play ball."

I settled in to study the book. Hours passed without progress. Bored, I noticed a locked drawer beside S

"Why can Scott sometimes move when I pulse time?"Lyra turned down the volume. "I'm not sure. I think you unconsciously gave him permission to move.""Hmm." I pondered this.Lyra offered reassurance. "Just give it time, Julianna. You'll learn to control your powers eventually."She tossed a pillow at me playfully.I responded quickly, pulsing time to freeze the pillow mid-air."See? You're getting better already," Lyra said, beaming.Just then, a knock at the door broke my concentration, and the pillow fell."Scott, better not—" I started, opening the door. But it wasn't Scott. "Exactly the response I'd expect from you."Just then, Scott burst in without knocking."Seriously, haven't you heard of knocking?" I tossed a pillow at him.Lyra echoed my sentiment. "What brings you here, Scott?"Scott shrugged. "I should be asking you the same thing. You're supposed to be training, Julianna. Let's go."I shook my head. "I'm not going anywhere. Exams are next week, and I need to study.""What!" Scott exclaimed."I suggest you should better go study," I said with a grin."Nah, I can ace the exams without studying. N
