Eira’s POV“Of course, what did you want to discuss with me?” Selene asked me, looking up at me all serious.I instantly became tongue-tied, now that I’m facing her, I didn’t know how to tell her that about the idea I had confidently told Dolphus last night.“Selene, would you like to go out of the Palace?” I asked, focusing my attention on her. I watched as she gently removed her hands from her mine and knotted them in her laps.“You don’t have to, you can refuse if you want to,” I immediately added when I saw that my words made her uncomfortable. I wouldn’t ever do what will make her sad or comfortable because of my own personal ideas. She’s my patient and I’m after her well-being, but if she’s not interested, there’s nothing much I could do about it.“Eira, I don’t know.” She finally let out, I could see tears slowly coming out of her eyes. “What is it, Selene, you know you can tell me why you don’t want to go out,” I told her, bringing her soft hands again into my small ones. Ge
Eira’s POV“We already got to the courtyard, right?” Selene asked, and I replied.“Yes, we just got here,”“I know, I always came here as a child. This courtyard was the Queen’s favorite spot. She said the energy here is different from any other place in the Palace, ” Selene announced, glancing around as if she could see the courtyard. But I guessed she was reminiscing and looking at the place as she had seen it before.“When was the last time you came here before you lost your sight?” I asked, supporting her to the pavilion. After we were finally seated, she replied. “I don't come here often. After my parents died, this courtyard became my least favorite place. It's been more than a decade since I've been here, ” “A decade?!” “Yes, my parents died 11 years ago. My brother was enthroned right after their death.” She answered, and I couldn't help but ask her the pending question in my mind.“How old was the Vampire King when he was enthroned?” I asked, trying not to seem curious.“He
Eira’s POVI’ve thought about it for a while, but I couldn’t seem to come up with a reasonable answer, so I was left with no choice than to ask her.Damn, my curious mind.“Because I already promised to come with us before I know that you are staying here,” she answered, but I could see in her eyes that she wasn’t keeping something.“Is that all?” I asked and she nodded.“Of course, could there be any other reason?” She replied and I became mute. Well, I also couldn’t think of any other reason that would have made her come here when she clearly knew that it was the Sapphire courtyard, and it was once her mother’s favorite place.“No, I don’t think so,” I replied after a while and she flashed me a huge smile.“Did you know any fun places around here? I haven’t been able to tour the courtyard,” I asked her and she instantly nodded.“Of course, I do but…” she became silent after excitedly answering my question and I immediately understood that it had to do with her sight.“Did you still
Eira’s POV“Dolphus?” I called out, completely ignoring the Vampire King, who was looking at me with so much malice in his eyes.Immediately I called Dolphus, I noticed that Selene’s eyes were raised. “My brother is here too, right?” She asked sniffing and the Vampire King moved closer to her.“Selene, I'm here. You left your Palace?” He uttered, and turned his eyes to me. He gave me a harsh glare look, but I couldn't even be bothered about him, my concentration was on Dolphus. Why did he come in with the Vampire King? Did they meet on his way back? I observed his body for any injuries but I couldn't see any visible damage.Dolphus nodded, indicating that he was fine and I heaved a deep sigh.“Yes, older brother. I came with Eira. We visited the Wish Tree,” Selene replied to the Vampire King, clearly concealing that I was the one who brought up the idea. I'm sure she did that because she thought that the Vampire King would be angry and he might punish me.“Eira, how did she end up h
Eira’s POV“I’m not aware of this, Your Majesty. It must have escaped the maid's mind, ” he answered, bowing his head as he looked at his feet.“It escapes their minds to bring food for the miraculous healer? Do they even have a brain?” This time, it was Selene that snapped at him. She was undoubtedly angry and her tiny voice was as chilly as her brother’s.“Your highness, I—”“What did you think your punishment should be?” The Vampire King interrupted, totally unimpressed by the Head of Staff’s prevaricate and pretentious acts.“Your Majesty..” He muttered, still not admitting to his guilt. He looked like the Vampire King was punishing him for a stranger. If anyone sees him at the moment they would think that he was innocent and he was punished falsely. The more I looked at his pretentious face, the more contempt I felt for the likes of him.“You are still not admitting? Do you want me to have you beheaded?” The Vampire King asserted in a cold voice, his crimson eyes flashing like a
Eira’s POV“Nothing, ” Dolphus mumbled and stood up, I reluctantly followed him.“Well, aren't you going to explain how you and the Vampire King happened to come to the courtyard together?” I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.“Well, aren't you also going to explain what the Vampire King's blind sister was doing here?” he snapped and I frowned at him. What the hell was that? Didn't I tell him yesterday that I'm trying to make Selene come out of her shell?“I told you not to refer to her as the Vampire King blind sister again,” “I will call her anything I want. Why the hell did you even care!” Dolphus yelled and I flinched.“Because she’s my patient and also my friend!” I shouted back at him, raising my voice so he could know his faults.Dolphus looked at me coldly and shook his head at me, “She’s not your patient. Reagan is. And you are just treating because we have to get the Atelum plant, and she’s also not your friend because she's a vampire. Let that settle in your thick brain.”
Anika’s POV“Your name is now.. Tatiana. You are the first female member of the Rebel Wolfe brotherhood,” The masked man declared.“Tatiana? What about my last name?” I whispered, holding back my discomfort.“Adolph,” he muttered in a cold voice.Upon hearing the last name, I felt a sense of familiarity to it, but I couldn’t place where I had heard it from.“When will she be able to walk?” His grace asked Claudia and I turned my attention to her too since I was also curious about when I will be able to use my legs.“In the next two weeks, she should be fully fine,” Claudia announced and I almost groaned out in pain. Two fucking weeks? What am I supposed to do then? Sit and sleep on this stone bed?“Why aren’t you taking the medicine?” His Grace mentioned, indicating the greenish content in the bowl and I instantly looked away. I regretted my actions immediately because His Grace forced my mouth open and poured all the content of the bowl into my mouth.“Feed her something for that wou
Eira’s POVIt's been a few weeks since the Vampire King assigned the five maids to me and we never had any issues. Well, except Celeste. She's the only one that seems to have a prideful aura when talking to me or Dolphus, she always felt like we were beneath her when in reality we are currently her masters. Since she never did anything outrageous, I always ignored her and went my way. I wasn't always at the courtyard, I've been going in and out of the Palace to get the medicinal herbs for Selene’s eye treatment. The days have been very busy and strenuous. If I wasn't busy with the medicine herbs, I would be at Selene's Palace gisting and accompanying her. Even Dolphus and I hadn't had time to talk and settle our differences. After that day that he left me in the pavilion, we haven't talked much. I made it a habit to go and find him when I'm less, but it just seems that he was always not around. No matter what time I go to look for him, I wouldn't meet him so with time I just stopped.
Eira’s POVI looked at her totally unprepared for the guessing game. “How about you just tell me?” I really can't guess anything, ” I mumbled, since I couldn't come up with anything that could make her so excited.“I can't say it. What's the fun in that.” she let out, pouting her mouth. “Oh wait- Amber, you guys should go and make some refreshments for Eira, I'm sure she hasn't eaten yet.” Selene told her maidsI knew that it was just an excuse but I was still surprised at how she figured out that I haven't eaten yet.“How do you know that I haven’t eaten?”I asked her immediately after Amber and Bianca left and she chuckled.“Because you love the meat Amber makes of course,” she answered and I nodded. Well, she was right about that.“Should I just ask Amber to teach Thana the recipe? It will be hard on Amber to make food for me everyday, don’t you think?” I said to Selene and she just waved it off.“I don’t think so, she loves cooking so much,” she answered and I decided to let it g
Eira’s POV“Why?” the vampire King and I asked simultaneously while Selene looked like she was planning on how to make her brother refuse.“My sister's death anniversary is near and I have to go and go back for a while,” Dolphus answered.“Isabella’s death anniversary is near? I didn't know,” I let out, squeezing his hand in sympathy.“Yea, that's why I have to go.” “I’m tired, I think we should go back to the courtyard, ” I muttered after a while and the vampire King nodded.“Selene, I'm leaving,” I said again when I saw that her attention wasn't there.“Uh? Oh alright. See you tomorrow, ” Selene replied, after a few minutes like I interrupted her thoughts. When we got to the courtyard, I couldn’t help but feel like Dolphus hadn’t said everything at the picnic. Why? Because from the rose garden till they got to the courtyard, they didn’t exchange a word.“Dolphus, is there something wrong?” Eira asked and Dolphus nodded.“I have to go back to Deepwater for a while,” he replied and
Eira’s POVI looked at him, bewildered by his question.“Why will I be worried, if you really like her? I will support you,” Dolphus scoffed, looking away from me. “Why are you scoffing? Did I say something wrong?” I asked him and he shook his head.“No, I’m going to bed. The day was stressful,” he replied and walked to his room. Leaving me standing in the sitting room. What’s with that attitude? Did I say something wrong? He didn’t even say what he always goes out to do. What will I tell Selene tomorrow? Well, at least, I know that it wasn’t a girl he’s always going out to see. So I can tell that to Selene. After a while, I left for bed since there wasn’t anything to do. Thinking about the picnic tomorrow, I didn't know when sleep engulfed me.I didn't wake up till I heard the cockerels' loud crows squeaking in my ears. Dragging myself up the bed, I went to freshen myself up and later went to check on Dolphus but as usual, he had already gone out.“I’m going to the Princess’s Pal
Eira’s POV“Eira..” She looked at me with an aggrieved expression. Like she was heartbroken because she thought I should already know about it.“You need to let me know your feelings, I can’t see your heart.”Fortunately, Selene thought the same and she nodded after a while. “ Yes, I like him. But I don’t know if he will like me too,”I didn’t dare tell her that she wasn’t the only one that likes Dolphus and he had harshly rejected the other girl without even giving her a chance. But I still had to let her know that it might be a one-sided crush. “Selene, Dolphus isn’t really here for romance. He came here to find the treatment for his best friend, he might not entertain any romantic relationship ” I told her as gently as I can.Selene looked away and frowned. “I know. I’m telling you since you said you can’t see my heart. Besides, I'll make him interested in me,” she vowed.I smile at her, happy that she didn’t underestimate herself because of her sightlessness. “Good girl, go for
Eira’s POV“Dolphus, I can't believe you greeted that demon that way!” I countered, immediately after the vampire King was out of hearing.“What should I have said? His Majesty? I’m the Grand Gamma of the whole werewolf Packs. If you as a healer can’t call him that, do you think I should?” He tossed at me and I nodded. He was actually right. No matter what, we should be loyal to our King and not another King.“Are you feeling good? Do you feel pain anywhere?” I asked him and he shook his head.“No, I think they are healing up,” “It’s the medicine that Esme fed you yesterday when you were having a fever,” I told him and he just nodded at me. “You didn’t act strange to her, right?” I asked, raising my eyes at him suspiciously.“I went to bed immediately you left,” he replied as if telling me that I was thinking much about it.“That’s good then. I will be going now,” I muttered, standing up from his bedside.“Is it painful?” He asked and I looked at him unaware of what he was talking
Eira’s POVThe first step of Selene's surgery took a while. Her orbs were too dusty and it was hard to find the main cause of the whole issue but because I had given her a sleep-inducing drug, I was able to take my time. The plant that the vampire King and I had to go pick at the mountain too also came in handy even though I had mixed it with others. It pushed out the Legendary snakes’ toxins, and I was able to see where the problem lies. After a few hours, I rested in the chair beside me, Totally exhausted. Even Esme was tired since she was my help and she was going about during the whole surgery. This was also her first surgical experience.“Are you okay?” I asked, but my voice came out breathlessly.“I’m fine, you are the one that did the whole work,” She answered, standing up.“Where are you going? I asked her because I can’t even stand at the moment.“To get you a cup of water,” She replied and I smiled at her. Awwn, it’s really nice to have a disciple.“Alright, just ask Amber
Eira’s POVEarly the next morning, I went to check on Dolphus and saw that he was still deeply asleep. Esme was resting her head on his bed side. It looked like she had just slept after feeding him the drugs since the spoon she used to feed him the medicinal juice was still in her hands.I went close to her and took the spoon from her and gently woke her up.“Esme, Esme,” I whispered so I wouldn’t wake Dolphus up because he needed so much sleep to recover as soon as possible.“Miraculous healer,” she called out, rubbing sleep off her eyes but her eyes still looked dizzy.“You should go and rest. It's morning already,” She nodded. “He had a fever overnight. But I think it has cooled down a bit after giving him this medicine you gave me,” I had reckoned that he would have a fever overnight. Considering how he hadn't woken up until I gave him my blood.“Alright, we should let him sleep for a while. I will check on him when I get back from Selene’s palace. You should inform Thana to mak
Eira’s POV“Is he really okay? He's still not opening his eyes,” Esme’s voice sounded worried and sick, looking at Dolphus. “Can you go out for a while?” I asked Esme and she nodded after taking several glances at Dolphus who was still unconscious.“Don’t worry, he will be fine.” I assured and she nodded again,“I trust you, Miraculous healer, please make he gets better,” When she felt, I touched Dolphus's acupoints to check if the medicine had taken effect. It has but it was still slow. With this pace, he might stay unconscious for several days. No, I can't let that happen. I shook my head and quickly prickled my thumb with my medical needle then moved it close to his mouth for him to suck on. This was the second time I will be feeding him my blood. The fight time was when we were thrown inside the Silver cell and he had also lost so much blood due to Cullen’s verbal attack. That day too he had so many claw marks all over his body.In this journey, he is the one who suffered the
Eira’s POVWhen I heard the guards' words, I began to think about too many things.“What is it? Is something wrong with the vampire King?” I asked the guard, trying to figure out if the vampire King knew about the outing or not so I would know how to prepare to face him. “Uh?” the guard replied, looking at me as if I was the person who something was wrong with but I didn't mind repeating my questions again..“I said is there —”“I heard you. Why would you even think there’s something wrong with His Majesty?” The guard countered, interrupting my voice.“Since you heard, just answer. What are you trying to say?” I frowned at him.He was talking longer than expected, just tell me what I wanted to know. I almost screamed at him when I saw that we were almost at the vampire King’s attendance room.“There’s nothing wrong with the vampire King,” he eventually replied but I was still curious. “So? Why did he ask to see me?” I threw a question at him. “Don’t you think you should brief me ab
