Cooper POV

I'm going to go crazy if I have to stay in this space. Looking at how there's a small light, at least I can see what's going on, but being in one box and Harper being in another is just great, I roll my eyes at this. At least on the other box, we were together, but this is ridiculous until I feel the car stop and hear something small being thrown, I thought a bullet was shot, but I didn't hear anything that could have meant a gun was fired.

"What did you hear?’ The more I hear about Harper, the more nervous I get.

"Yes, was it a quiet gun or a simple shot from a sniper? Could it have come from far away? He starts asking a million questions, and I'm already getting bored until we both hear a howl.

Close to us, it sounded more like an announcement or a warning. Till I smell other wolves, my ears perk up from this. Is it possible that our pack is looking for us? I ask my twin right away.

"I think we're being chased twice,’ he said. ‘If I heard right, the sound came from the direction where we came out of the woods, but why are they going back in there now?

"Can't they tell we're no longer there?" I ask my brother because I think this will help him a lot to calm down, hearing him anxious is making me go nuts.

"If they are from the same pack as us, they would have just arrived, but-’ two more howls cut him off.

‘I don't think our pack is trying to find us, brother. I think we are also being hunted,’ I tell him, and through the mind link, I hear him growl.

"They can't find us in here because it's made of metal, and besides, they're just wolves. Our smell is not easy to detect if they aren’t from our pack’ Harper adds quickly, but I freak out right away.

'What if they are rogues?' I begin to imagine the worst.

"Well, we'll do what we're good at and lose them.' I nod from my box, where I can't hear anything, but I hope they don't find us. If they are rogues, I can't even imagine the torture they would put us through. When the car shakes, the mind link is cut off quickly.

I put my paws on the front, but I hit the side of the car where the door is. I'm in wolf form, and if I stay in this form while the humans are outside, I might be caught faster. When I'm in a situation like this, I hate to think that I should have been ready. I'm wondering if there's any way to get anything, or if we even brought the shorts we found in that basement with us. The car turns to the side, and now I'm on the ceiling.

“Do.Not.Shift.Cooper! JUST LET IT GO! RUN!’ I hear Harper scream in the mind link, so I start hitting and clawing the door to get out.

As I start shifting my paw to open the door, I start to feel hopeless as it doesn’t happen. Then I hear the door open from the other side and see Harper, who is now human, wearing the same shorts from the basement. I jump on his chest, but I think I did it too much because as soon as I do, he falls on his back and a wolf jumps out to bite his shoulder. I get off Harper and go after the mutt instead.

Rolling on the dirt and cement, he claws my chest with his lower paws. I bite its shoulder while clawing his other shoulder, trying to get rid of the mutt on top. Whoever this is knowing how to attack. Is this a warrior or just a random mutt? When I finally got the wolf off of me, another wolf bit my tail and paw, which made me growl and bite the mutt off of me. When I looked around, I saw that I was surrounded by wolves, but they all seemed to belong to the same pack from the smell. I turned around and saw Harper holding a rock in his hands.

‘Harper, we're surrounded!" I might link him to then see a dart hit some wolves.

My heart goes up. I'm surprised by how fast they were moving. It went on, and it took me a split second to turn around and jump into Harper's chest again. I'm not going to get hit by a dart, because those things will knock me out and I’m too young to die, he grabs a hold of me and lets the rocks go.

"It looks like animal control has finally come, so we need to leave before the people think we had something to do with this," he tells me. I nod.

Putting less pressure on him by putting my paws on his shoulder to see behind him, he starts to run to the nearest houses. We have to leave the city, which is much farther from where the poor houses are. When we get closer to an empty house, I change back into a human and stretch for a while.

"We need to go back to her, she's in a lot more trouble than we thought she would be. But first, what the hell are those wolves after? You can't remember what you did? Did you piss them off? I've never met them before, but they seemed to know who your  wolf, Cooper.” He spits at me, and I shoot him with daggers.

"How the hell am I supposed to know who they are? All I remember is that they smelled like a pack after smelling them, I have never had that smell, and that was just now as I tried to stay alive! I don't know who they are or why they are here! Bark some other way mongrel!" I answer while clenching my teeth.

"Don't," he says as he points his finger at me and my arms are crossed over my chest. "Don't give me that lame excuse. You know what I'm asking you: Do you remember anything from before we got in that box?" He got me to finally think about that, the hell do I know.

"Off the top of my head, no. Let me think about it for a bit. In the meantime, we should go back to Chicka because I'm afraid the hunters will go after her. She seems scared of them, and if they are her parents, I can't imagine what they have in store for her." My voice sounds a little more broken and tense as I feel my heart rate pick up, what if they have her already? Thinking about it I shake my head to stop myself from following this train of thought.

"Think about it while I find you some shorts then. Your dingaling could use some support. At least that part is easy compared to supporting your attitude." Harper adds quickly as he turns on his heel to leave, funny.

I go to the broken window to look out to help me think better of that question, yet I see two heavily armed men dragging the boy from the house, Chickas friend. I growl as I see this, and as I run out, I run into Harper, who was about to steal a neighbor's clothesline.

"Stop! Chickas friend is being taken, and we need to find him!" He falls to the ground and runs with me. He lets go of his pants, and we both shift into wolves.

Running to the guy, a small plan comes to mind.

"Take the guns away, hurt them, and if we have to, kill them. Let the kid run back to the hospital!' We run in zigzags because we are right behind them as they hold the boy on one of their shoulders, and we each lunch at one of them.

I grab the skinny one with the really busted eye right in the nipple who is holding the boy. The boy hits him with his elbow, and when he hits him he keeps on doing it for a while. I scratch his ribs and claw him in the thigh with my lower paws. When he falls to the ground, the boy falls to then get far enough away to see who is behind him.

This kid should run and not try to be a hero. When I bite the guy's neck, he stops moving from under me after hearing a sick crunch. Getting up I look at Harper is also done with the other guy, but I see he is limping towards me, which makes me turn my head to him.

‘Harper, what's going on?" I mind link him as he limps toward me, I move to start licking his paw.

"You two are Chicka's wolves, come with me she will be looking for you two." As the boy I'm still trying to remember his name gets closer to Harper, after he sees what I'm doing he picks him up and we walk to where Chicka is together.

"I can help you fix this. Some of the stuff from the car is just for these accidents. But how did you two get out of there, I closed those doors?" He asks as he tries to run to the car while I follow him.

When I hear a gun being fired, I bite his shirt to move him to the side trying to save him from the bullet, he moves a little from my force, and the bullet scraps him on his side. I keep pulling him to get to a hidden place or something. When we finally get far from the open we find the bottom of a wooden house to hide there, these houses are made from various shapes, and materials and are of different sizes, some have layers, toped of small wood stands to hold them up, like the one we are under now and others don't.

The guys who are after us stop looking for us but don't find us. Instead, they talk about something on their radios that I would have heard if I wasn't a wolf.

"DID YOU GOT THE WOLVES?!

The guy with the burned hand answers the radio, "No, and we had one of the kids who came with them." The other one starts to walk into the houses to ask for us when the radio starts up again.

*LOOK FOR THEM! *THEY ARE THE PROPHECY WE NEED!*

Harper and I looked at each other with shocked faces and said, "Prophecy?"

Harper's POV Prophecy? Isn't that what they're seeking in these times? Us? I'm having trouble recalling how we wound up in that box, and I'm fairly positive it was Cooper's fault; if his head was in the proper location with his head that's glued to it, none of this nonsense would have occurred. 'Cooper, what did you do, I vow to the heavens above?' I mentally connect with my twin, who is visibly surprised. 'I swear on my black hairy ass that I have no clue, but I am certain that I did not do anything to have that label placed on us. Whatever we need to get out of here, Jose says as he begins to crawl backward on his arms and knees. He glances behind him as we gaze ahead; they seem to have split up, one on my side following the road and the other on the other. I growl at Cooper and bite his ear as soon as I see them far enoug

"Wake up!" exclaims the narrator. I hear a lady screaming at me; is she the same person who just handed me the knife? I sigh as I realize I was reliving an old experience, why is it that I can't be allowed to die, there's nothing for me as I open my eyes, it's back to the misery I need to maintain, is it even worth it? When I finally open my eyes to see the ruined ceiling paint, I turn around and find the dog from earlier on my side, who gives me a sorrowful grin as he growls at someone besides me. "Calm down, I won't hurt her; she is, after all, under my care. Chamika, how are you?" The director inquires, his voice hoarse, from what I recall. Did animal control try to catch him? Turning my head to get a closer look, the dog has a ketch and release pole. The director tries to speak again, but this time I hear a woman speak in his place. I move my hand, which feels like it has a hole burnt straight through it, and when I glance down, I see a hand cast. "How are you feeling, Chamika?

After hearing what I heard from the front desk, I rush out to get Harper; if my gut instinct is correct, Chicka is not safe here, but where can we go where she would be secure? Not even the building where we were last is safe; once out of the building, I see that everyone is surrounding us. Looking around, I'm beginning to believe that the town itself is working for her parents, based on how that call went. As soon as I got to Harper, I ran into him, straight into his face, as the boy bragging stretched himself to put his foot out and made me fall on my brother, I didn't see it in time to avoid it, oh wait until I get up kid. The bus takes me to the last stop, where I know the beach is close by. A good walk here to make up for lost time would be perfect, but my work at the theater will take away everything from earlier. I know my uniform is stashed behind the small food counter. I continue to be immobile as a terrible recollection surfaces. I was dropped off to my dad's new penthouse at about that time by my mother. I knew he had friends visiting, but I didn't know his friends' spouses, children, and boyfriends would also be there. I never shared it with anybody, particularly when I was only nine years old. It was challenging to stay alive and fend off the prank assaults my parents put on me. When a doctor asked for my assistance, it was agony because as soon as he was through, he was shot in my face, purposefully reminding me that I was never supposed to think I was secure from them. I was reminded of what those ladies did to me when I saw these in my bed. As I sense the one behind me, I am reminded of the reversed harem they performed on me. In the heart of this bustling Chilean metropolis, I made it to the door of my flat. We fled to this area far away since staying concealed here was simpler than at home. My crop top and fuzzy shorts cling to my now-developed physique since the mornings here are damp. It seems strange to consider that I now have a medium bubble rear end and a nice C cup, which makes the idea of fleeing more difficult. However, I must leave this place immediately. I take a step back when I hear a threatening growl behind me. When I turn around, all I can see are two huge wolves—or at least four-legged things that resemble wolves. I don't know how I ever believed they were just puppies. Was it foolish of me to refer to them as pups last night? I must have been quite exhausted since I totally missed this! These are no longer pups. They are two enormous, red-eyed, black wolves! They each stood by my side while I yelled; they weren't startled by my outburst, but I thought I saw one of them twitch in discom
