Janet woke up in Edwin’s arms.

It was still late at night around 4 am, but she needed to leave before Edwin woke up.

She promised Rim to meet her before leaving, too.

She noticed the person sleeping beside her peacefully.

She wanted to make yesterday’s night special, it would be the last memory left behind to each other.

Maybe Edwin would hate her after today, but she was making it easy for both of them.

Janet would start a new life away from the shadow of her past with her baby, while Edwin could marry Chesley and settle in his life.

She didn’t want to be stuck in the tug and war between them.

She would rather take her broken heart and leave from here.

She slowly removed his hand from her waist and placed a peck on his lips.

“I have loved you, Edwin. With all my heart. You have been my first man, my first love. You will always remain in my heart. But we can’t stay together,” Janet said in a whisper-like tone.
