When Edwin returned home, Janet wasn’t back, it was already 10 at night, so maybe she wouldn’t return.

Thinking this, Edwin decided to retire in his room.

Today’s work was hectic. He had to meet some business associates during dinner, as they had a flight the next morning.

The meeting was so boring and he couldn’t concentrate as his mind was occupied with Janet’s thoughts.

He knew Chesley’s misbehavior would have consequences, and he didn’t want to suffer anymore for someone else’s mistake.

He wanted to settle this matter as early as possible, but she couldn’t do it before Sunday.

This week his schedule was too packed even for him to breathe, let alone take a tour of the Wilson residence.

Before going to bed, he noticed the jug in his room was empty and came to fill it when he noticed someone entering the house.

He waited in the dark and then noticed a haggard-looking person entering the house.

He could say even in the dark it was Janet.

Edwin looked at the clock, and it was midnight.
