It was captivating to see the mesmerizing scene of the endless pitch black sky wavering in front of us. It was filled with a lot of stars gazing as the wind would slowly brush pass our skin, making our beings a lot more comfortable. We were leaning on a tree, trying to enjoy the view of the majestic city engulfed with nothing but darkness and the city lights.
I don’t know why but my current state feels so calm and collected. As I breathe out the cold air, grasping on our bodies, I felt his hand slowly making his way towards mine. I looked at our hands, slowly intertwining. It was perplexing, how I wasn’t even uncomfortable or surprised that he grabbed my hand. There was only this feeling of tidal waves crushing onto my chest.“I’m sorry,” he whispered. I slowly glanced at him, looking straight in his eyes until he was the first one to avert his gaze and looked forward at the scenery in front of us. I continued to stare at him."I don't know if you care butMy mind seemed to wander elsewhere as I stare right into space. It’s been a month since we got married and if I do say so myself our relationship looks steady. We’re slowly getting to know each other or more likely I’m trying to get to know him better since it looked like he knows almost everything about me; in terms of my favorites.“Don’t you have any plans of telling them?” I blinked and glanced at him. He was staring right into my eyes as he changed the channel on the television. We were currently sitting on the living room, watching an action movie.I heaved a sigh. “I do want to tell them but I’m not sure how to start it,” I said, putting my hands into my face. “I just know my parents will be sad and a little disappointed since they both think like those people from the Stone Age,” I added, looking at him again. “And there’s my pregnant friend, she’s quite sensitive right now so I don’t think this is the right time.”“I guess it can’t be helped,” he responded
Despite having a lot of things that were preventing me from functioning well, I don’t know how I was able to come to the company without any scratches. There are a lot of things in my mind lately.Even though I wanted to talk to my only friend about the situation I’m into, I couldn’t tell her at all. Cassandra had once suffered from a miscarriage and I was there when it happened. It was a pity but more importantly a lot more painful for my friend as she had expected her baby to live. After that incident, I had vowed myself to always buying her whatever she wanted; probably also because of the trauma I sustained from that time.As we were chatting along the table; joking, goofing around and exchanging small talks, we would smile at each other while scooping onto the ice cream I bought.I hope I don’t doze off while listening to her saying all sorts of myth regarding pregnant woman. After a while, she started mentioning Rozz again which led to the two of us into anot
I’m confused with myself. For some reason, I’m having a hard time deciding what to do plus… it’s funny if you think of it like this; I’ve been influenced by Cassandra with being a goody good two shoes. It’s probably been a few minutes since Ivann left the bar with his shoulders sinking in disappointment. I already moved on and I no longer hold any feelings for him except resentment. I crossed my arms, waiting for my husband to arrive at the door.“I hope I don’t make a bad choice of staying with you,” I thought to myself as I closed my eyes. There might have been a lot of things bugging me and how I’m doubtful of his actions and words.A warm hand caressed my cheek gently as I smelled his familiar scent. I could tell that it was him with just a glance. I opened my eyes, only to see him looking straight back at me. He’s hair was in a mess and how sturdy his body looked like. I didn’t move and only let him do what he wants. It’s only been a few hours yet
“You’re creepy,” I pointed out at the man smiling at me.We’re currently in a Korean restaurant, eating. When we woke up earlier it was already passed the time for dinner and so we just decided to eat outside.“I love you,” he said once again before putting a handful of food on a spoon in his mouth.I bit my lower lip as I averted my gaze. Damn, he’s suddenly being so sweet. The moment we woke up earlier, he wouldn’t stop saying those words anymore. It’s even funny if you think of this way. I’ve been waiting for this all along and now, he keeps repeating it like a broken platform.I gazed at him when I felt his hand touch mine above the table.“Thank you,” he said, full of emotions in his words.I smiled at him and reached out my hand to gently squeeze his, “I’m not a narrowed minded person plus… you’re my husba
It’s already my third time visiting him in his office yet I’m still not used to him whenever he transform into a serious businessman. It feels like I’m looking at a different person while he’s there busy talking to a client.“Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Castanio,” the middle aged man mumbled, shaking the hand of my husband.“Thank you as well, Sir Ilba.” Daevon nodded, reciprocating the handshake. After a while they bid themselves goodbye and the old man started walking away.“Another successful client,” I said as he started walking towards my direction.A smile crept into his face as he sat down beside me, circling his arms around my belly followed by kissing my temple. He’s like a different man from earlier, it’s hardly believable. “Do you want to somewhere?” he asked.I leaned on his chest before gazing at him to speak. “I just want to
When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately rushed towards my friend’s room. I saw her at the far corner of the room, staring blankly into space while auntie was there, caressing her hair gently.Cassandra’s mom looked at me when she noticed my presence. A bitter smile formed into her lips before tapping on her daughter’s shoulder.“My child, Ayesha’s here.”Her face slowly turned to look at me as I made my way to sit by her side. Auntie in turn, stood up from her seat and walked towards the door.“I’ll just buy some food for us to eat,” she said and I nodded.I gazed back to look at my friend again and held her hand. What happened? I hope it’s not what I think it is.My eyes automatically landed on her stomach and so I closed my eyes for a second, biting my lower lip. Please…When I heard a sob escaped her lips, I opened my eyes again. She weakly smiled at me while tears were starting to build on her brown orbs.&nb
I was sipping my coffee when Daevon entered my office. He seems to be serious but at the same time afraid of looking at me. I continued to look at him with an expressionless face as I greeted his eyes. I can see how he sighed to himself before making his way to sit in front of my table.I leaned my back on my chair and crossed my legs while looking at him.“I’m sorry.” He was the first to talk as usual and gave me the same look he always does whenever we fight. He claimed my hand at the top of the table and gently squeezed it. “I didn’t mean to do that but I do not have any choice,” he added to which I raised one of my eyebrows.Again, he deeply sighed. Is this guy full of air inside? He walked towards me and grabbed my hand again before pulling me upward to stand.I stiffen in place when he lowered his gaze and leaned his head on my shoulder before wrapping his hands around my torso.“She’s mentally disabled,” he simply explained.I’m surprised b
It’s been three weeks since Cassandra left and I must say I miss her. I sighed to myself while looking at the papers in front of me. It isn’t really hard to manage the things in her company since her secretary was helping me plus there’s Auntie always there to assist me and of course, husband who didn’t leave me alone. It’s a good thing that my parents also allowed me to work here and labeled it as an experience for this sort of field. Well, in fact, they’re quite enthusiastic when they found out I’m working.I might say that I’ve been happy for the past few weeks that came by despite having some mixed emotions with my friend leaving. She removed all of her connection in the Philippines except for her mom. I even feel like sulking every time I think of it but instead, I tried to understand her. She probably needs to fix herself.I was only back to reality when I heard the door clicking open. I saw my secretary coming in with her usual attire. She lowered h
I was sleeping peacefully when my phone rang.I groaned and scanned where I fucking put my phone and answered it without seeing who it was."Please do me a favor." My forehead knotted as I opened my eyes and slowly sit on my bed. That was the first thing he told me the moment I answered the phone call."What now Ivann?" I seriously asked.I heard him sigh before dropping the bomb."I'm sick," he mumbled that made me frozen in feet."Then fucking take a medicine," I hissed when I recovered my composure."I'm flying to America tomorrow," he informed me."Drop the favor," I simply said; looking tired from these shit I'm hearing."Guard my ex, Daevon, " he mumbled in low pitch voice.I creased my forehead, still my phone was close to my ear."You mean stalk her?" I sarcastically asked."I owe you big time for this. I just want to make sure that she won't do anything stupid," he stated."You mean kill her
We all went together at the same time when we were now rested. We're all happy to see her kicking well and had the kids go home early with Auntie while we stayed behind."So mind to tell me what's happening?" Cassandra asked, breaking the silence betwen us all."We're good," Daevon answered. My face quickly flushed red; feeling all the warmth going towards my face. That's not what she meant when asked!"Really? But I remember you saying it once before that you will make him cry," my friend said teasingly. My eyes widened.Fuck you, girl!I felt Azaia, secretly laughing at the sideline.I mouthed bitch to Cassandra before raising one of my eyerbrows at her.I turned towards Azaia, rolling my eyes. "You're laughing at me, traitor," I said and pursed my lips; sulking. She laughed once again before looking at the curious Cassandra. She started narrating what happened to her, the sameway Andre
After a day, I was immediately discharged. Daevon quickly got me a check up at the OB so we can get an update over my pregnancy. We both let out a sigh of relief when I found out that our baby was normal and I was healthy. It feels like something warm touched my heart when I saw the teary-eyed Daevon. He was staring at the small monitor, looking at an image of a baby.He looked at me and mouthed thank you with so much emotions in his eyes. I just smiled at him in return. We ate first at a restaurant before coming home. As the gate swung open, I saw my baby running towards me. She gave me a tight hug and kissed me."I miss you, Mommy," she mumbled and embrace me tighter.I hug her back with the same ferocity and kissed her forehead. After she was finished with me she turned to glance at her dad and reached out her little hands to be carried in his arms. They exchange the same imissyou's and have a littl
DAEVON'S POVIt’s been a few hours yet until now she’s not yet waking up. What happened earlier really drained her.I heard a knock on the door before my friend Xenoah came insicde. I only gave him a thin smile as he patted my shoulder.“I owe you a lot,” I said emotionally and turned to look at my wife again laying on the hospital bed.I felt his presence still there, gazing at Ayesha for a few seconds.“She really loves you,” he said.A bitter smile crept into my lips as I closed my eyes.“I don’t know if I should be happy or not by that,” I weakly uttered under my breath.I gently caressed her face.“Because of her love for me, she almost lost her life. Not only her but also…” I gulped and turned to look at her stomach. “…our soon to be second child,” I added.I felt Xenoah’s hand patting my shoulder again.“I didn’t expect what she did. I know she loves me but I didn’t think she’d pick me over her own life,” I nar
After our emotional breakdown finished, we both fix ourselves and talk everything that we missed for the past four years."How about your pregnancy? Raising her alone with your two friends… was it hard?" he asked calmly while holding onto my hand.My other hand had been helping me munch away some chips while my head was leaning on his chest. We were both sitting on the sofa, watching movies on the television.I stopped to put the chip in my mouth for a second. “I was diagnosed with post-partum,” I said, uttering weakly.I felt him stiffened and then massaged my hand when he regained his composure back.“You know, I only have my instincts at that time. I believe that Ivann and I didn't do it but still I couldn’t erase the fact that there was a chance t-that she's Ivann's child,” I added.I felt his hold tightened. I stared blankly on the television with a sad smile looming my face.“One week. It was a total of one week, I didn’t look
I woke up disoriented. I quickly got out from my bed when I noticed the unfamiliar sight of the whole room. I suddenly tried to recall what happened until I remembered him carrying me last night.Daevon brought me here?I tried to calm myself down. This is a condo unit type with a simple yet elegant style. I heard some sounds coming from the other room and so I walked towards it. As I got closer and closer to the area, the voices become clearer.“I thought you’re not coming back anymore,” a man’s voice said.I never been nosy before but something tells me I need to listen to their conversation. I kept my distance, enough just so I can hear them. I heard some sizzling sound. Someone is cooking.“I just want to show her where I had been for the past four years,” I heard Daevon responded. So he didn’t come home before?“How about that other girl? What was her name again? Ellaine? Yeah, that’s it,” the other man’s voice asked casually.
It’s already late yet Daevon is still in our house. He’s playing with my daughter in the living room while the three of us stood there in the kitchen, talking among ourselves.“So what’s your plan?” my dad asked casually while drinking his coffee. Both of them were eyeing me, waiting for me to speak.I only cupped my chin using my hand and massaged my temple.“I don’t know. I need to talk to him first,” I said before looking at them.My mom smiled at me thinly and gently patted me on my shoulder. “Everything will be okay,” she reassured. “I can feel it, he still loves you so give him a chance.”A sad smile roamed my lips and let out a sigh. You got your gut feeling wrong, mom.I shook my head. As I was beginning to be lost in thoughts, I suddenly felt a presence behind my back.“Let’s talk,” a baritonic voice said.I can feel the same fear crawling down my chest but I tried to remove it. I turned to him with a life
"Is this real?" my daughter asked. Her eyes couldn’t stop from widening and gasping as waters started forming in her eyes. We’re currently inside our room where she watched the video I showed her. I only forced myself to smile and nodded.Hi honey. How are you? Take care always.“D-Daddy,” she called out and tears started streaming down her little rosy cheeks. I then immediately embraced her into a tight hug. It’s been a week since I gathered all of my strength and went with my plan.I decided to arrange everything now about my daughter but I still need to prepare Daeshaia with whatever happens. I made sure to ask Daevon for one take of a video.*flashback*“Ah…Daevon?” I called out after we ate. “Can you do me a favor?” I felt him squeeze my hand gently under the table. He then looked at me with a serious look on his face. “As long as it’s not to let go of you, then sure,” he said. I gasped for a second with what he said but quickly r
I stared blankly at my office the whole morning. It feels like I’ve been played all along. He was not there that day. Then if that was the case… what was that thing I encountered four years ago?Did… Ellaine planned it all along?I shook my head. I don’t want to think negative words about someone but there’s still a possibility. Why would she do that?I was out of my reverie when I heard a knock. The door then swung open gently and whom appeared in front of me was none other than Daevon.I froze for a second when I saw him holding onto a bouquet of rose as he approached me.He thinly smiled at me and put down the flowers onto my table.“T-Thanks,” I uttered weakly while looking at it. I then turned to look at him.“I change my mind,” he said in a low pitch voice while staring at me. I gulped, feeling as if something was stuck in my throat.“What do you mean?” I asked. I almost thanked God for not letting me stutter.
