Rhea did not realize what had happened until it was too late. Her head was spinning and her eyes were as Xavier’s lips locked with hers. Was he really kissing her right in front of her father or it was a dream? It had to be a dream. She opened her eyes to make sure she was not dreaming and almost immediately, Xavier opened his too and pulled away from her. “I’m sorry it took me this long to tell you how I felt about you,” Xavier said holding Rhea by her cheek. “But we cannot keep it as a secret from your father anymore. He has to know.”Rhea stared at him in shock wondering what he was up to and Xavier walked out of the room immediately. Ghost stared at her in shock. He wasn’t even moving a limb and Rhea didn’t know what to do as she stared back at her father. “Uhmm..” she stammered. “I’ll be back.”She ran out of the room closing the door behind her and as soon as she closed the door, she was surprised to see that Xavier was standing right beside her. He turned the key in the mout
Xavier struggled to get himself out of the stranger’s grip without result. The night was dark and the sky was starless. The only source of light available was that of the crescent moon that was shining above them and even that was not enough for Xavier to make out a face.“Let go of me,” he grunted, struggling to free himself from his grip. “Not until you tell me who you are and what you are doing with the princess,” the voice grunted back. “Now you’d better start talking. You’re going to get yourself into a lot of trouble if you don’t talk.”“He’s with me,” Rhea said. “Let go of him immediately.”“Why should I let go of him?” the voice grunted back. “Or even you? Your father has put out a large bounty on your head and I’m looking forward to getting that bounty.”Rhea and Xavier exchanged quick glances under the cover of the darkness and they both turned to face the Lycan that had accosted them.“What bounty?” they chorused.“Well, it’s you of course,” the Lycan laughed and licked hi
Rhea’s eyes almost popped out of her head as she stared at Xavier.“Are you out of your mind? What do you think you are doing?” Rhea frowned at Xavier. “You don’t even know who he is!”“Come on, princess,” the Lycan laughed. “Don’t tell me that you’ve fallen in love with your captor already. You’re meant to be fair in your judgement.”“Well, I’m not fair,” Rhea grunted and turned to Xavier. “We are not having any battle here, not with you or with anyone else. Get that in your head already.”“He wants to have a battle, he knows the right thing to do,” the Lycan laughed. “Who are you to disobey the king’s orders? You’re not even the heir any longer.”“Mind what you say to me,” Rhea frowned at the Lycan and turned back to face Xavier. “Lets get out of here already.”“Are you kidding me?” the Lycan drew out his sword. “Either of us is going to have the princess. There is no way that you would leave here alive.”“Leave this to me, princess,” Xavier said, and turned to face the Lycan. He st
It took them another thirty minutes of running before they could get away from danger and even then, they could still occasionally hear the voices of the Lycans that were looking for them in the woods. Rhea was tired and suggested that they slowed down a bit. Xavier didn’t like the idea of reducing the pace and subsequently, the distance between them and the werewolves that were pursuing after them but he didn’t really have a choice. He understood that she had been in the dungeons for some time, without good food and water and so, she needed to rest a bit. They slowed down as they walked further into the woods and Xavier turned occasionally to make sure that no one was following them behind. “We have not yet mastered the art of sneaking up on our enemies,” Rhea shrugged, noticing that Xavier was looking behind him every minute. “So don’t worry yourself about a Lycan attacking us from behind. It is not going to happen, I can assure you of that.”Xavier nodded slowly and they kept movi
Salvador walked out of the herd of Lycans grinning and Xavier recognized him immediately as the Lycan that he had almost fought with before Rhea’s quick intervention.“It’s Salvador,” Salvador smiled at him. “Not Salad or whatever you called it.”“Sounds like the same name to me,” Xavier shrugged. “Dumb anyways. You think you can face off with me and survive it?”“Yeah,” Salvador nodded. “According to all I heard, your father is dead now and can’t fight for you anymore. What have you got?”“Well, you’re about to see it for yourself,” Xavier spread his arms wide. His eyes turned pitch black immediately and he dived at Salvador immediately. Salvador barely managed to dodge his attack and he landed on the dusty ground a few meters towards the end of the semi circle that the rest of the Lycans had momentarily formed to act as the ring for the fight. “Let’s see what you can do then,” Salvador smiled and steadied himself.“Stop this madness at once!” Rhea cried, coming out of the cabin. “I
“Come on Rhea!” Xavier called but she had already started walking back inside the cabin. In less than a minute, she was out of sight and Xavier was left facing four Lycans with really bad intentions for him.“Don’t be a pussy,” Salvador laughed and drew out his sword. “Come on let’s fight like men and let’s see who would have her.” Xavier turned to face him and shook his head. He drew out his own sword and steadied himself preparing for his attack. He was not one bit scared of Salvador even after all that Rhea had said. He was very confident that he was going to kill him.Salvador attacked him as soon as he drew out his sword, not even giving him any further time to think and Xavier found himself on the defensive immediately. Xavier side stepped and moved back a couple times, trying his best to dodge Salvador’s blows and fortunately for him, he was able to get by the first five strikes without a single scratch. Salvador was not getting tired however as he continued to swing his heavy
At that moment, Xavier willed the earth to open up and swallow him but it didn’t. There was definitely not any lie he was going to tell Layla to justify the fact that he had slept under the same roof with Rhea. He knew exactly what she was thinking had happened and he wished that he could just prove it to her that it was not the case.“It’s not what you think,” Xavier sighed. “We were not together all night.”“Oh but you two were together for some time during the night?” Layla stared at Xavier. “Doing what exactly?”“Calm down, Layla,” Xavier heaved. “Layla helped me a lot on the way here.”“I’m sure she did help you,” Layla stared at him. “In a lot of ways. I’m ashamed to call you my brother. I can’t believe you have been fucking the enemy, the same person who’s father is responsible for the death of your father and the same person that kidnapped your own little sister just a few days ago. How low could you go?”“Do not talk to your king in that manner,” Jimin warned. He turned to fa
“What reports do you bring me from your scouting?” Ghost asked in a frigid voice, staring straight at the array of weapons lining the opposite wall with a murderous intensity. The anger swirling in him was like a thunder storm, and he desperately needed an outlet for his blood-thirsty urges. The warrior standing in the shadows near the entrance to the room, kept staring at the floor. It was better to stare at the dark floor for hours, than look up and risk angering the Alpha further. Especially when Ghost was in such a dangerous mood.“The scouts bring the same news, Alpha.” The warrior said. “Your daughter has been sighted in Black Wolf Pack territory.” He paused, like he was contemplating death, before he finally added in a lower tone. “Rumors have it that she plans to become their Luna.”An enraged growl escaped from Ghost, and he swiped a hand across a table, displacing everything on it. Several objects clattered to the floor in a thunderous crash. Most of them burst into millions
