Xander’s Pov

As Miles and Allegra sway to the music, a wave of conflicting emotions washes over me. Watching them together ignites a fierce possessiveness within me, but I remind myself to keep my composure. I can't let my emotions get the best of me—not here, not now.

Miles' demeanor shifts, and he stops dancing as he spots me. As if trying to prove that Allegra is his, he tries to kiss her. A growl escapes my lips before I can stop it. He takes the hint and leaves her.

“There's no need for that, Allegra,” I say, my tone gentle yet firm. “But I would love to dance with you.”
