SARAH'S POV:

"Can't you drive faster?" I snapped at Barr Lawn, my voice quivering with a mix of fear and urgency, as the rain pounded against the windshield and the trees blurred past in the darkness. My heart pounded with an unrelenting mirroring of the panic that flickered in my wide eyes.

"Sarah, calm down," he replied, casting a worried glance at me, his grip tightening on the steering wheel as the wind howled outside.
