Chapter 67

SARAH'S POV

The next day, I nervously made my way to Barr Lawn's office, feeling the weight of yesterday's events pressing down on me.

As I entered, Barr gestured for me to take a seat. I sat down across from him, feeling the tension in the air as I settled into the chair, my mind consumed by swirling thoughts.

"Sarah, how are you doing?" he asked.

I hesitated for a moment, feeling the weight of his concern, before answering, "I'm Okay." The words felt heavy on my tongue, a simple response to a question that held so much meaning.

"How did the board meeting go?" Barr Lawn inquired, his stoic tone revealing nothing about his emotions.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I clenched my fists, my anger simmering just beneath the surface. "Why didn’t you double-check all the details before sending me to the crucial board meeting?" I snapped, unable to hold back my frustration. The weight of the mistake seemed to hang heavy in the air, adding fuel to the fire of my irritation.
