Unfortunately, It Didn't Go As Planned

Elora's POV.

I was expecting to find the maid walking into the throne chamber on her feets but the second the doors were pushed open, I found a body on a stretcher pushed into the place by the guard whom I had ordered to go get her.

I froze for a second, my heart racing with nothing but shock and disbelief as I stood up from the chair and climbed down to the middle of the place.

“Where is the maid I asked you to bring in here?” I asked, my focus fixed on him as I waited for a response from him.

“She is here, Luna .. it happened she died before I got to her!”

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Dead? No! That's impossible! She isn't dead! She can't be dead!" I declared, shaking my head in disbelief.

The room seemed to close in around me, my thoughts racing. How could she be dead? I had just seen her last night, alive and well.
