Elora's POV

“What was the statement Chief Han made to you on your first day here at the pack?” Killian asked, and for the first time today, I froze, staring directly into his eyes.

I felt empty, lost in shock. I had thought he had forgotten everything about it, but I guess it still etched right in his senses. It remained there like it was glued, and he was never going to let it go until he heard it from me.

“It's…” I was about to say, but Alpha Killian cut in, his words dripping with fury and rage.

“Don't lie to me, Elora, and I mean every darn word I say to you. Lying to me won't help matters, not for a second!” Alpha Killian warned, his grip around my shoulders tightening like he was going to dislocate my arm from its socket.
