Killian's POV

“I suggest that…” I paused, staring at each of them properly before I spoke up. “It's best we let the Alpha of the East handle this… it isn't my duty anymore!” I concluded, and they ended up looking at each other and mumbling to themselves.

It made me smile seeing them in such a situation. Without hesitation, I stood to my feet.

“Since the meeting is over, I'd like to head back to my room. My Luna awaits me!” Without a second glance at any of them, I headed towards the door.

Chief Han didn't utter a single word, unlike him. He must have felt humiliated by how I ignored him and spoke to someone with more power than him.

Shutting the door in their faces, I headed for my room. I had to lie about my Luna so they wouldn't suspect anything.

The second I got into my room, I was welcomed with guilt and regrets as the silence in the room surfaced before me.
