LISA`S POV

“I know this might be a tough revelation for you, but I hope you handle it gracefully.”

I remain silent, and my jaw slacks. Some celebrity media personality gets an accident and twists his leg in my front yard and apparently, he is my father. Just like that? No. No. No. Why does the universe enjoy playing tricks on me?

My mother.

She has never told me about anything of the sort. She cheated on my dad with a McGregor? No. She could never do anything like that to my dad. She loved him. I saw it. I saw the way he treated her—with love and admiration.

The way they talked, spent time together in the warehouse, had long conversations, read each other books, and took long walks in the park across from our house.

They never had long arguments or tried to pick up fights with each other. They loved each other, and I saw it. I know. Well, at least I thought so.

I look at him and find him staring at me with loving eyes. He rummages into the bag again and brings out a bunch of photos.
