Nora's POV
"I, Alpha Gavner Wolfgrimm of the Midnight Prowlers Pack, reject you filthy disgust, Lenora Silverberg, as my mate at this instant." Alpha Gavner snarled with disgust as each word pierced through my heart, and I laughed bitterly at myself.
"You are not fit... to be my Luna," Alpha Gavner growled as I flinched back, trying to grasp a chair.
"You know you can't do this to me, right? I am a blessing given to you by the moon goddess; I was chosen by her, fate.." I said, tucking some strands of hair behind my ear.
I looked up at him, looking deep into his emerald eyes as he quickly looked away.
"I have every right to reject you; you are a filthy rag!" Alpha Gavner said bitterly.
Somehow I knew he didn't want to reject me; the spark I saw in his eyes showed his desire for me.
"Lenora Silverberg, I demand you leave my sight this instant," Gavner said lastly, as I turned around to face the door and walked towards the exit.
Out of his sight.
Out of his life.
My name is Lenora, but everyone calls me Nora. I am in this situation because the moon goddess chose me for Alpha Gavner, and he rejected me.
Specifically, I am a hybrid, a werewolf, and a vampire.
Nobody knows this yet, but it baffles me how Horace knew or did he not know. I just wanted to run away from this pack because he was going to come back for me.
Starting from the moment I got rejected, I knew my life was going to be a mess.
"To kill me," I said to myself.
I lived with my mother all my life, as I had no idea who my father was. My mother is a werewolf, and my dad is a hybrid—a vampire with werewolf blood.
My father was executed by the covens for mating my mother, just like his parents were banished for giving birth to him as a hybrid.
When I was born, I was ordered dead, but my mother wrapped me in her maternity gown and fled the pack for both of our safety.
I grew up in Washington, DC; we stayed in the Midnight Prowlers Pack for safety, and I went to school in a werewolf school as my mother continued to hide my identity.
It was also a good thing because the other werewolves had no idea I was a hybrid. Vampires in werewolf form were hated to the peak, especially when they didn't come out.
All my life, I have never seen how a mate is chosen, so when I heard that the Alpha Horace needed a mate, I decided to see how things would go, not knowing the moon goddess had decided to play a harsh game on me.
Even though I wasn't ready to be a mate, I was mated to the Alpha Gavner, and he rejected me openly.
The more I held back the tears in my eyes, the more I felt like a knife was continuously stabbed at my chest.
I cursed.
As I staggered through the forest, cutting through the big tiled road as the street lights cast an indigo reflection on me, I wondered if my mom was already aware of the situation at hand.
I walked into the house, switched the lights on, and saw my mom standing by the window.
It seemed like she had been waiting for me to return.
"Why did you go there?"
I heard her ask as she turned around and faced me.
I swallowed a lump of saliva as I pulled off my hoodie, throwing it on the floor beside me.
"Mum... I am sorry; I didn't intend on this happening." I apologized as I walked closer to her and held her hands.
She was all I had in this world.
"It just happened, I got rejected." I let out a growl as my mom made me sit on the couch.
"Nora, you need to relax; this is not the time to let out your wolf."
"I know, mom, but I can't control it anymore... It's overwhelming"
"Nora, you can."
"I am just scared; Alpha Gavner somehow knows that I am a hybrid; that was why he rejected me."
"Are you scared that he will come back for me?"
"Nora, we are leaving this pack... I can't afford to lose you the same way I lost your father," my mother said as she heaved a deep breath and raised her index finger to her eyes to wipe out the tears.
"How did this happen? Why did the moon goddess choose you?" My mom asked curiously.
"For all I know, Nora, you were chosen for a reason, but then your life's at risk."
"We are leaving first thing in the morning."
Finally, I heard her say it: "Leaving," but I wasn't satisfied.
"Mom, we have to leave now."
"Tomorrow might be too late... and the night is long."
"Nora, you should..."
My mom was still on it when I rushed into my bedroom, picked up a bag, and put some clothes in it.
"What if he rejected you for other reasons and not because of who you are?"
"If he knew who you were, Nora, you wouldn't be here. Rather, you'd be inside that filthy dungeon."
I paused and stared at her. She was right, but then, Gavner was not a man to joke around with; he was known to be a rude and hot-blooded wolf.
I am not the first mate he rejected, and those he rejected were either locked up for the rest of their lives or sold out as sex slaves.
But then,
"Mum, have you ever been in the dungeon...?" I asked.
"That's a question for another day."
I quickly grabbed my car keys, held her hand, and led her out of the house.
A strong gust of wind was unleashed on us as my wolf whined. I didn't understand the werewolf and vampire feelings fully because I hadn't gotten a hold of them, though they were still in my blood.
"Nora, we shouldn't do this. A storm is approaching," my mom claimed."Mum, you know that's not possible... in summer?" I asked as I opened the door, slightly pushing her as she sat down."Where are we going?" "I don't know mum" I started the engine and drove off, I couldn't imagine how miserable my life will turn out if I don't leave. The air began to feel thick and heavy, maybe they were feeling bad for me as well, hot tears ran down my cheek as I whimpered. All my life I never imagined I was going to be rejected.Suddenly it began to rain heavily, just as my mum had said.... the storm. It was unusual."We are been followed, Nora!" I heard my mum scream behind me."What??!" I asked rhetorically as I glanced at the side mirror, fear grasped me immediately I saw a pack of wolves howling behind us.I stepped on the brake and increased my speed.Still running for our lives, I looked up, staring directly into the eyes of a fierce-looking wolf standing in the middle of the road.I trie
With my mother by my side, I was able to blend in as a full-blooded werewolf but now I just realized I am not one of them.Alpha Gavner must pay with everything.I took a few steps forward but I felt dizzy, falling to the ground, I hit my head on a log of wood as it all because black.______✿ ♡‿♡✿_______ GAVNER'S POVI couldn't help but wonder why the moon goddess will give me a nerd for the third time.Since I came of age, once every 250 years, I would go in search of a mate and today was another day.The moment I rejected her, I could see the pain in her eyes, but I didn't give a damn because she wasn't my style. Moreover, I hardly see her around. After rejecting her, I would have locked her up immediately but I let her slip away. She would earn me something good even though she's not good enough for me.I watched her stagger through the forest, she argues with a woman about something as they hop into the car.It seems like she has heard about me .... She was trying to escape my wr
"All my life I have been cheated on, first my brother was made Alpha king of the pack and then the so-called goddess isn't giving me idiots as a mate... Arrghhh" I said to myself, resting my head on the table, I dozed off. With the sound of the alarm and the reflection of the sun directly in my eye, I stretched and yawned while I turned off the alarm.Quickly, I had a shower and washed my mouth; I had business to settle urgently."Walker, did you notice anything again?" I asked one of the dungeon keepers as I strode through the hallway."She has been fierce since she regained consciousness...""That's odd, she regained consciousness already?" I asked again."Yes Alpha, she has been hitting on the bars fiercely the past few days and asking about her mother" Walker responded as we walked up to where she was. This time she was lying down, but immediately after we got there she lifted her head."Gavner where is my mother?" Lenora asked I could see the anger in her eyes. They were swollen
I continued "Although it is uncommon, it does happen to have your mate rejects you." I rolled the scroll to the ending. "I will read what the last two alphas had to say." 'Although it is understandable to have a mate rejected, it is not required to get rid of anyone from the pack.' "We are a pack and a unit, thus I have issued a law after consulting many elders from other packs." I halted and raised my head. "There can be no other option if the rejection has been accepted by both parties. Then an unmated male or female of the rejected line can claim the rejected for themselves." I rolled up the scroll carefully. "You all know I'm not mated," I said as I stole a glance at her. "I, Horace Wolfgrimm claims Lenora Silverberg as mine and the Luna of this pack," I declared not minding the murmurings from the people. With that said, I walked up to Nora and placed my hand on her back and her knee joint. Subconsciously, she curled her hand around my neck and I lifted her. Out of Ga
"And while I'm doing that... you have to accept it," Horace snarled at him."But. I do not understand why you are doing this; why did you claim her? "You haven't been gifted, but you claimed my mate." I heard Gavner spit at Horace.I wondered why he was so interested in me when he rejected me."Obviously, she doesn't love you. You can just say I'm cleaning up your dirty game." Horace smirked."A true mate is very rare, and when you find yourself with three, you reject them like they are some piece of trash. I did not expect you to think of selling her off, but then I picked up your pieces, and this is one of the reasons this pack was never handed over to you.... And now, while I'm still being nice to you, elder brother, leave my house.""That is an order."Gavner had always been a selfish man. From the time he was a little boy, knowing it was his fate to take over from their father as the first son, he never devoted his time to the pack. always taking everything he seemed to want for
There was a firm knock on the door, and two maids walked in."Your Majesty, My Lady," they said with a bow. "Queen Mother requested your presence at lunch," one of them said."Along with your mate," the other person completed."You can leave now," Sarah ordered as they bowed and took their leave."She must have been worried when the news got to her," Sarah said to Horace as he sighed.I was sure the queen's mother was Horace's mother; I'd never set my eyes on her.I couldn't help but wonder what she was like.Sarah walked up to me. "Your Majesty, My Lady," she said, holding out her hand towards me. "Shall I prepare Her Highness?""Sure, you should... I will get ready as well.""Prepare her in the best way you can," Horace said, not taking his eyes off me."Yes, Your Majesty." I was led into the bathroom, where Sarah helped me shower and wash my hair."Your Highness, feel free to ask me anything bothering you," Sarah said as she rinsed out the soap from my body.I raised my head, star
"And then we will have to prove to her that she is not fit to be a mate or a queen..." One of the ladies said. "She's such a lowlife," another claimed. They made a toast and sipped from their glasses. Regardless of how they displayed their stupidity, I kept on eating... I have not eaten a nice meal in the past few days. "I can't believe he reclaimed the messy bitch I rejected, hmph," Gavner said with a clenched jaw as he narrowed his eyes toward me. "Well, they suit each other." They're messy and clumsy. They always take positions that don't belong to them." Wow! That statement. I finally understood where all the hate was coming from, and I suddenly had the urge to speak up for Horace. I wanted to teach them a lesson. "You must have heard that your mate is an illegitimate son, who stole the throne from me, his elder brother?" Gavner asked me as he dropped the wine glass on the table. I have held myself back enough. "I think it's unproductive of you to dwell on rumors because
I walked out of the room and shut the door behind me.I needed to find a way to let Candra out of my life, even though I knew it would not be that easy.I walked into my study room. Candra was sitting there as usual, but today I wasn't feeling her."Why did you have to claim a mate when you know how much I love you?" She asked."Candra, I'm not in the mood for this," I said as I walked up to my chair and sat down."You are avoiding me; you just used me, and now you dumped me because of a woman your brother rejected? It doesn't make sense!" She cursedI ignored her, but she didn't look like she was going to leave me.She stood up, slightly. She continuously tapped her artificial nails on the table as she slowly walked up to me, rubbing her hands in a slow motion around my ears, down to my shoulders, then slipping her hand inside my robe, touching my chest, and beginning to fall in excruciatingly slow designs. She pulled my robe off as she suckled on my nipples, making me groan, and her
