Fifteen years later

REBORNED

  Episode Three : Fifteen years later

  Dierdre's POV

"Dove! Dove run!!"  Mom shouted faintly.

"What happened" I asked frightened.

"just go!" She shouted.

I saw myself running from the house and just then, it blew up and I jerked from my sleep.

My heart was beating really fast and I held my chest hoping to calm down. I brushed hair down with my hand and breathed out in relief.

  I stood up from the wooden bed where I slept. 

  I looked out the window and saw the view of the village from the mountains, that's the first thing I do every morning  .

I heard loud stomps , coming closer toy room . I knew that Nona was coming.

"Dove! " Nona called walking with her stick to hold her waist up, actually she's old.

  "Dierdre " I corrected nonchalantly.

  "Don't correct me , your name's Dove and so be it" Nona said as she walked towards me and placed her hand on my shoulder.

  "Dear, it isn't the end of the world , you can't continue drowning in sorrow and pain" She added , rubbing my shoulder .

  "Yeah , but I love it when it's eating me up" I said , patting her hand on my shoulder and slowly removed it.

  I walked towards my old  wardrobe and brought out my long gown , I didn't forget to take my cotton cardigan.

 "Nona, you should leave I want to dress up" I said .

  Nona sighed and walked away , I brushed my teeth and took my bath in the small bathroom.

  I wore my dress which covers my whole body except my arms and wore my cardigan to cover the scars on my arms.

  I walked out of the hut to the sea where I goes fishing , I arranged the tools on the boat and pushed the boat to the sea then jumped on it .

 I paddled the boat and stopped in the middle of the sea, I brought out my fishing net and hauled it to sea.

  I sat down for a few minutes and drew the net into the boat. I plucked fishes out of the tangled net dropped into the bucket.

  I paddled back to the village , carried the bucket of fishes and walked to my destination *The market*

  "Dove!" I heard my name and turned to see Gladys , my friend waving and running to me. she stopped at my front , panting like a marathon racer.

  "I won't like to remind you that it's Dierdre" I said nonchalantly.

  "Dierdre ?!  Nope! I'll call you Dove" Gladys said , narrowing her eyebrows.

  "Whatever " I said .

  "so, where are you going? Nona store?" she questioned and I nodded.

  The walk to Nona store was silent and Gladys has a look on her face like she want to say something.

  I ignored her and continued my walk to the store.

  Finally, we arrived . The store is not really far , just five minutes walk.

  Nona was  selling  the little amount of fish , last week. There are a lot of costumers standing in a queue.

  I dropped the bucket on the table and helped Nona sit down  on the wooden chair because she's tired. I quickly attended to costumers, selling the fish. Gladys helped counting the money before placing it on the money box.

 "uhm...Dove" Gladys called .

I sent her a look which indicates 'what?'

  "I need your help , my mom sent me an assignment to fetch water" Gladys said, rubbing her hands nervously.

  "Why do you need my help when I'm busy?" I asked coldly and Gladys sent a puppy face.

  "I need your help pu... please" she said , pouting her lips.

I wanted to say something but Nona interrupted.

  "Gladys would go with you" Nona interpolated and Gladys smiled.

 "B... but" I stuttered .

  "No buts , you would help her , that's final" Nona commanded.

  "Fine" I said and sighed.

 Gladys grabbed my hands and pulled me to her house, we took our two bucket s each and walked to the stream , far from her house.

  We fetched water and walked all the way to the house. we met boys , smoking and staring at us lustfully.

  "Hey, beautiful" A boy called but we ignored him and continued walking.

  "Whoa , they are hot "

  

  "Their ass are appetizing"

  "I like that one with cotton cardigan"

  "Hello , will you spend the night with me?"

  A guy climbed down from the tree , walked towards Gladys and slapped her butt.

  Gladys gasped , dropped a bucket and threw the bucket of water on his body.

  Good for him.

  "Boss! , are you okay?" A guy ran to him and asked.

  "How dare you pour water on master body?....." The guy asked .

  "Hey! , do you want to die?" I interpolated.

 "No, but you're die" the guy said and the rest of the boys began coming towards us.

  The boys were not much , they are just total five of them 

  I saw two planks laying on the ground beside me , I ran to where it was laying , took it and scooped sand in my hand.

  One of the boys were about to grab Gladys but I hit the plank on his head, he fell to the ground, making him unconscious.

  I gave Gladys one of the planks and poured sand on the boys faces .

 

 They yelped in pains and fell down , rubbing their eyes several times.

  I looked at Gladys and smirked at her , then we began hitting them with the plank. Gladys gave more hits to the guy that touched her butt than the other.

  The boys stood up and ran away .

"Thanks Dove" Gladys said thankful

  "You're welcome"I said and carried the buckets while Gladys carried one bucket full of water and the other empty.

We walked to her house and poured the water into the small container ,making it full .

  The bell rang three times from a tower building which indicates that there is a meeting at the village meeting ground.

  A lot of people were walking in group to the place .

  "should we go there?" Gladys asked innocently.

  "Of course, do you want to go?" I questioned.

  "sure" she replied .

  we walked to the village meeting ground , there were lots of people there .

We snuck our way through to get to the front.

The village chairman was seated in his all white attire. He told in front of the populace and coughed.

The whole place was rowdy... he tried his very best to calm all down.

 I looked around to see anything to shut the people and an idea came to my head.

I looked at the tower and ran there .

 "Dove , where are you going?!" Gladys yelled but I ignored her and she followed me.

  I climbed the tower til I came on top, I took an insanely big hammer and used it to hit the bell beside me. It produce a loud sound that made the people confused of where the sound is coming from. They became quiet and calm.

  I climbed down and dragged Gladys back to the crowd .

  "Good day , my people" the chairman greeted.

  "Good day to you too" they chorused.

"I apologize for disturbing you by this time of the day" He said apologizing.

  "There is a very important for information I want to give you all" He added.

"you all may be distressed by the information but it's in our favor" He said and paused for a while , his face expressionless.

  The crowd murmured among themselves and stopped to listen to the information.

  "I know you all would be shocked and it also came as a shocker to me " he said.

  "And due to our financial status, it's the best for us" he added.

  "A very prominent man from the city wants to buy the village and build a company with our people as workers" he released the bomb shell.

  "What??" Gladys exclaimed beside me.

  The whole crowd went berserk and angry , rejecting the information.

  The bodyguard of the village chairman , brought out their pistols and shot two bullet in the air. The crowd went dead silent.

  "why can't you understand? this is in our favor " he tried to explain.

  "Who is buying our village?" I asked ,out of curiosity.

  "He's a prominent politician and we'll known businessman who lives in the city which goes by the name Mr Rogers" he said.

My eyes widen as the name replayed in my head.

  *No but, Mr Rogers or else I'll tell the whole world what you sent us for*

  *Mr Rogers*

 My head began to ache as the environment began going in circles and I staggered and Gladys caught before I could fall.

  "Dove, are you okay?" she said.

   Her mouth was moving,I could not hear  her then I black out.
