Twenty-three

MELISSA'S POV

.

I woke up, wishing that I would meet myself, back at home, that everything was a dream, but I still opened my eyes to the ugly basement we were held in.

"Layla, Layla." I called out to her, softly, so as not to raise any alarm, or sort.

She squinted her eyes as she woke up and looked at me.

"Melissa." She said, softly, adjusting herself on the chair.

"C...can you look around? Probably if you see any sharp objects or something."

"I can't find any, here. Even if I find any, there's no way I will be able to pick it up." She sighed, deeply, looking devastated.

"It's fine. I'm not even able to move at all."

Then we heard footsteps, coming down the stairs. They went straight to Layla, loosed the rope that she was tied to and then dragged her away.

"Where are you taking her to?" I shouted, scared that they were going to do something really bad to her.

"Leave me alone! Let me be!" I could hear her screams as they went up the stairs.
