Kaiden glared at the men in his office. They'd been here for hours, devising and revising plans.

“I'm telling you, we can't bring up a wall in this area. It will lessen our escape routes. We need to think of something better.”

“It might lessen our escape route, but it'll delay the external attack from coming in.”

Kaiden sighed as the men went at each other's throats, bringing up the flaws in each other's plans. They'd brought about more than a hundred ideas but each one got rejected.

Elixir shared a look with Kaiden and winced internally, he looked miserable…worn down totally. If only he could save him from this stress. Elixir looked up at the ceiling and wished the goddess would send a distraction and almost immediately, they both received a mind-link.
