AUTHOR’S POVAs soon as Odessa stepped foot into the Arena, she and Kaiden locked eyes. It had happened so fast that it made Odessa blush. Her sight was poor and hence she couldn't see him very clearly from where she stood but Kaiden on the other hand could see her perfectly well. She stood bright and shiny amongst the others, probably because he had told the designer to add glittering gems all over her dress. The dress wasn't that extravagant, but the beauty in its simplicity was what drew other’s attention towards her. As she walked closer, her curvy shape became more clearer to him. The dress had fit her exactly as he'd imagined it. She looked like a fairy, a beautiful warrior fairy because that's what his woman was. A frown settled on his face as he took note of how exhausted she looked. Was this what she meant by waking up like a zombie? Kaiden wanted to take her in his arms and cuddle her in his bed until he was sure that she'd had enough rest. According to hierarchy and i
AUTHOR’S POVFloating…That's what it felt like. Odessa had known something was wrong with her but she'd classified it under the normal tiredness she was going through every single time she woke up. But she should have known it wasn't it because never had she been so tired…This was different. It felt like she was operating under an out-of-body experience. When she'd suddenly stood up after talking to that sweet little girl, Odessa felt dizzy. She tried to control her body movements, which was working on autopilot. Before she knew it, she was on the horse, waiting for the race to start. But just as her vision was starting to become clear and stable, the horse took off. She tried to hold on to the reins but it kept slipping from her hands, and then she felt her entire brain shift because the horse had made a drastic turn. Black spots were clouding her vision, her head was swaying from left to right. She could see tall buildings and trees but her brain wasn't registering them. Her e
AUTHOR’S POVThe games were canceled and Elixir monopolized half the Kingdom’s army to search for the King and the Princess. Their realm was too wide and too huge for them to go in their huge numbers to one direction, so just four guards were sent to different parts of the realm. They left the arena too late, the both of them could be anywhere by now. Elixir left with 25 teams of soldiers which in total was a hundred. Half of the team would separate as soon as they hit the forest, the other half would cross the bridge and also disperse as soon as they got to the other side. Elixir made a sigh of relief as soon as he saw the hoof marks on the soil. Elixir immediately raised an order and everyone began to ride for the bridge. His eyes were sharp like an eagle’s, looking for anything that was out of place…anything that might have indicated where they would have gone. And then he saw it, a red liquid on one of the rocks alongside the lines of the bridge. Kaiden had grabbed Odessa by
AUTHOR’S POV“How certain are you?” Cassian asked. “50…” Candy whispered but when Cassian tightened his grip on her her arm, she winced not from his actions but the pain in her heart, “99%” Cassian sighed, he pulled his hand away from Cindy and ran it through his hair. “Don't worry about it. Perhaps I'm overthinking. Who knows I might be wrong.” Cindy said trying to calm him down. “We both know that you're rarely wrong, especially when you're this sure of a diagnosis.” Cassian whispered, placing both his hands on the wheel. Cindy watched as his knuckles turned white. She bit hard on her lips, scolding herself mentally for not being able to keep her mouth shut. She looked up as Cassian pulled over suddenly, his hands reached out for her jaw and he tipped her chin upwards, pulling her lips to meet with his. Cindy moaned as soon as their lips made contact, her fidgety hands buried itself into his thick dark mane. Cassian growled with frustration, he wanted her on him, straddling hi
AUTHOR’S POV“Summon everyone to the north wing ball room now!” Kaiden yelled as he made his way down the stairs with Elixir. Elixir’s eyes glazed as he ordered every maid, every manservant, everyone living in the palace to file out and assemble at the Northern Ring. “What are you going to do, Your Majesty?” Elixir asked. “Something I should have done a long time ago.” Kaiden responded and the both of them walked on in silence. As soon as Kaiden arrived, they all bowed and submitted to him. Some of them were shaking and others were about to pee themselves. Half and quarter of this population have never had the unlucky opportunity of facing the King, he was a monster and they knew that well, so they did all they could to avoid him. But now, they could feel his glare piercing through their bodies, aiming directly for their heart. To each one, it felt like he was there for them. “One of you has betrayed me.” He started very softly at first, and some people were immediately eased bec
KAIDEN’S POV“Release her.” The guards let her go immediately, taking two steps backwards. “Now are you ready to tell the truth?” I asked and she nodded, her hand raised shakily as she pointed towards another direction, into the crowd. “Be…Benita. It's Benita. She's the owner of the rose handkerchief.” She answered, her entire body still shaken. I looked up and saw a lady’s head poking out from the crowd, but as soon as she met my gaze, her eyes widened in horror and she ducked immediately, as if that was enough to hide her from me. I looked down at this, “Who is she to you?” “She's my…best friend.” She stammered. “So much for your friendship. She didn't even try to save you.” The maid in question looked like an innocent soul, the kind that would do anything for anyone close to them. Her actions proved so now. She was ready to die for her so-called best friend. Benita must have known and decided to exploit her. I want someone like this beside my woman. Someone that wouldn't th
AUTHOR’S POVKaiden’s eyes trailed Victor's movement as he reached for the doctor's breast pocket, pulling out a blue pen. “Victor, what are you doing?” “Protecting my fiance,” Victor replied to his father and signed the form. He walked up to the doctor, “Here, you have my consent. Do it.” Immediately, Kaiden’s eyes flashed red. He grabbed Victor by the collar, punched him square in the face twice, pulled the form from his hands, and threw him across the room so hard that his body made a human-shaped dent in the wall. Kaiden is breathing angrily as he glares at the form and the signature on it. What right does Victor have to sign away Odessa’s life like that? Not even he had that right; it was only Odysseus who could do that, and he wasn't here, so Kaiden would do everything in his power to protect his daughter. Even if he has to kill his son for it. Kaiden tore the paper in half, again and again, and again, before throwing the pieces into the air, allowing them to drop down lik
AUTHOR’S POVKaiden’s reason for not letting Odessa go to the hospital was because he was scared. No matter how much security he would put in place, those people would still get to her. “Alpha, please. We’re running out of time.” Ray pleaded. “Go and do the blood test. Come back for her once you've confirmed that their blood is compatible.” And with that, Kaiden turned around. He would need to put so many things in place before he would let Odessa go to the hospital. The first would be putting the entire palace on lockdown. No message goes in, no message goes out. “Let's go, Your Highness,” Ray said but Victor stopped him. “Before that, what were you and my father talking about?” Ray stopped and turned to look at the Prince, “I'm sorry, Alpha Prince but I'm not permitted to say.” “I'm going to be your next King. You should earn my trust now before I’m enthroned.” Victor said. Ray made a slight bow. “If I haven't earned your trust yet despite all I do for the Kingdom, then I'll
