AUTHOR’S POV

“What did you just say?” Kaiden asked, stepping very far away from her. Odessa had to sit at the edge of the bed before she collapsed on the floor again.

“I asked if you were the Rogue King. There are rumors–”

“So you believe the rumors?” He asked, his face looking a bit disappointed.

Odessa shook her head, “No, I don't…I mean I can't conclude unless I hear what you have to say.”

“Is my answer really that important to you?” He asked.

“Yes. It is. We both know what will happen if you're truly the Rogue King.” Odessa’s eyes were glazed over with worry.

“And you suddenly care? Why?”

“Can you answer me without trying to change the subject?” She countered.

“Fine! I'm not the Rogue King and I've not shifted ever since my wife died–”

“Liar!” Odessa yelled as she stood up on her feet, placing her hand on the wall.

Kaiden glared at her, “Wha–”

“You're a liar!” She thundered, hot tears rolling down her cheeks. Kaiden's expression softened and he wanted to walk up to her and

AUTHOR’S POVAfter they finished shopping for the clothes and other accessories they would need at the game, the trip began to head for the palace. Hugo and Evelyn made small talks on the way while the Princess was quiet and drowning in her thoughts. Hugo had suggested they involve her in their conversation, but Evelyn told him that the Princess was having some critical thinking and it was best they left her alone. When they arrived at the hallway of the north wingz they were stopped by the King. “Good day Your Majesty,” Evelyn and Odessa curtsied while Hugo bowed. Odessa could feel Kaiden’s gaze on her but she refused to look up and meet his eye. Shame and guilt flooded her as she remembered their conversation last night. The only evidence she had that he'd come back to the room was the fact that she'd slept on the floor and woken up on the bed, properly tucked in. She also knew he hadn't slept in his bed last night and there were no guards by the door when she woke up this morn

AUTHOR’S POVAs soon as Odessa stepped foot into the Arena, she and Kaiden locked eyes. It had happened so fast that it made Odessa blush. Her sight was poor and hence she couldn't see him very clearly from where she stood but Kaiden on the other hand could see her perfectly well. She stood bright and shiny amongst the others, probably because he had told the designer to add glittering gems all over her dress. The dress wasn't that extravagant, but the beauty in its simplicity was what drew other’s attention towards her. As she walked closer, her curvy shape became more clearer to him. The dress had fit her exactly as he'd imagined it. She looked like a fairy, a beautiful warrior fairy because that's what his woman was. A frown settled on his face as he took note of how exhausted she looked. Was this what she meant by waking up like a zombie? Kaiden wanted to take her in his arms and cuddle her in his bed until he was sure that she'd had enough rest. According to hierarchy and i

AUTHOR’S POVFloating…That's what it felt like. Odessa had known something was wrong with her but she'd classified it under the normal tiredness she was going through every single time she woke up. But she should have known it wasn't it because never had she been so tired…This was different. It felt like she was operating under an out-of-body experience. When she'd suddenly stood up after talking to that sweet little girl, Odessa felt dizzy. She tried to control her body movements, which was working on autopilot. Before she knew it, she was on the horse, waiting for the race to start. But just as her vision was starting to become clear and stable, the horse took off. She tried to hold on to the reins but it kept slipping from her hands, and then she felt her entire brain shift because the horse had made a drastic turn. Black spots were clouding her vision, her head was swaying from left to right. She could see tall buildings and trees but her brain wasn't registering them. Her e

  • REBIRTH: My Forbidden Entanglement    Chapter 32

AUTHOR’S POVThe games were canceled and Elixir monopolized half the Kingdom’s army to search for the King and the Princess. Their realm was too wide and too huge for them to go in their huge numbers to one direction, so just four guards were sent to different parts of the realm. They left the arena too late, the both of them could be anywhere by now. Elixir left with 25 teams of soldiers which in total was a hundred. Half of the team would separate as soon as they hit the forest, the other half would cross the bridge and also disperse as soon as they got to the other side. Elixir made a sigh of relief as soon as he saw the hoof marks on the soil. Elixir immediately raised an order and everyone began to ride for the bridge. His eyes were sharp like an eagle’s, looking for anything that was out of place…anything that might have indicated where they would have gone. And then he saw it, a red liquid on one of the rocks alongside the lines of the bridge. Kaiden had grabbed Odessa by

AUTHOR’S POV“How certain are you?” Cassian asked. “50…” Candy whispered but when Cassian tightened his grip on her her arm, she winced not from his actions but the pain in her heart, “99%” Cassian sighed, he pulled his hand away from Cindy and ran it through his hair. “Don't worry about it. Perhaps I'm overthinking. Who knows I might be wrong.” Cindy said trying to calm him down. “We both know that you're rarely wrong, especially when you're this sure of a diagnosis.” Cassian whispered, placing both his hands on the wheel. Cindy watched as his knuckles turned white. She bit hard on her lips, scolding herself mentally for not being able to keep her mouth shut. She looked up as Cassian pulled over suddenly, his hands reached out for her jaw and he tipped her chin upwards, pulling her lips to meet with his. Cindy moaned as soon as their lips made contact, her fidgety hands buried itself into his thick dark mane. Cassian growled with frustration, he wanted her on him, straddling hi

AUTHOR’S POV“Summon everyone to the north wing ball room now!” Kaiden yelled as he made his way down the stairs with Elixir. Elixir’s eyes glazed as he ordered every maid, every manservant, everyone living in the palace to file out and assemble at the Northern Ring. “What are you going to do, Your Majesty?” Elixir asked. “Something I should have done a long time ago.” Kaiden responded and the both of them walked on in silence. As soon as Kaiden arrived, they all bowed and submitted to him. Some of them were shaking and others were about to pee themselves. Half and quarter of this population have never had the unlucky opportunity of facing the King, he was a monster and they knew that well, so they did all they could to avoid him. But now, they could feel his glare piercing through their bodies, aiming directly for their heart. To each one, it felt like he was there for them. “One of you has betrayed me.” He started very softly at first, and some people were immediately eased bec

KAIDEN’S POV“Release her.” The guards let her go immediately, taking two steps backwards. “Now are you ready to tell the truth?” I asked and she nodded, her hand raised shakily as she pointed towards another direction, into the crowd. “Be…Benita. It's Benita. She's the owner of the rose handkerchief.” She answered, her entire body still shaken. I looked up and saw a lady’s head poking out from the crowd, but as soon as she met my gaze, her eyes widened in horror and she ducked immediately, as if that was enough to hide her from me. I looked down at this, “Who is she to you?” “She's my…best friend.” She stammered. “So much for your friendship. She didn't even try to save you.” The maid in question looked like an innocent soul, the kind that would do anything for anyone close to them. Her actions proved so now. She was ready to die for her so-called best friend. Benita must have known and decided to exploit her. I want someone like this beside my woman. Someone that wouldn't th

AUTHOR’S POVKaiden’s eyes trailed Victor's movement as he reached for the doctor's breast pocket, pulling out a blue pen. “Victor, what are you doing?” “Protecting my fiance,” Victor replied to his father and signed the form. He walked up to the doctor, “Here, you have my consent. Do it.” Immediately, Kaiden’s eyes flashed red. He grabbed Victor by the collar, punched him square in the face twice, pulled the form from his hands, and threw him across the room so hard that his body made a human-shaped dent in the wall. Kaiden is breathing angrily as he glares at the form and the signature on it. What right does Victor have to sign away Odessa’s life like that? Not even he had that right; it was only Odysseus who could do that, and he wasn't here, so Kaiden would do everything in his power to protect his daughter. Even if he has to kill his son for it. Kaiden tore the paper in half, again and again, and again, before throwing the pieces into the air, allowing them to drop down lik

The world around them went silent. Everyone, even Urelycus who was lost in his own grief seconds ago couldn't help but watch the incident that just took place in the middle of the field. The ice that had struck itself into the King’s chest melted away, leaving only a red patch on his dark robe. “O—Odessa,” The King called out, his voice breaking as he stared at his mate in his arms, bleeding from the hole in her chest, blood spluttering from her lips. Her gaze locked on his, the fear, the pain, the sadness, the love and the regret, Kaiden could see it all in her eyes. He looked down to the hole in her chest, where his hands laid, trying to stop the bleeding. “Odessa, Odessa, please….Help! Someone help me please!” King Kaiden yelled out in pain as his vision blurred with tears, looking down at his pregnant mate. Odessa wanted to comfort him, comfort them both as she could see the constant switch between gold and red until both appeared, one eye gold and the other red. “No, no, no

AUTHOR'S POV"Let her go." Kaiden growled at Lariel as he watched his mate being suspended in the air by the latter's grip on her neck. Her legs thrashed around as she fought for her life."Lariel! Stop! She's pregnant for God's sake." Urelycus yelled at his son, his cautious gaze drifting to Kaiden."It's not often that anyone gets their hands on the Lycan king's weakness; why should I let go of such a rare chance?" Lariel asked, his head tilted to the side with a creepy smile on his face."Fine, fine, just ease your grip around her neck. She's the reason the Lycan king hasn't torn you apart yet." Urelycus tried to reason with his son, and he could see the moment of contemplation in Lariel's eyes as his son reasoned with what he said. Lariel's grip slowly loosened, and Odessa quickly took in a much-needed breath; her gaze went straight to her mate's, who was rooted to a spot, brewing with anger as he stared back at her helplessly."I can't believe that you would be so weak for someon

She didn't stop until each hole was the same size as a fully grown human. There were seven holes in total, each one in the eight realms of the world, showing the scene of the hall where the Kings and Queens of those teams were seated. AUTHOR’S POV“And now, I'm going to take what really belongs to me!” Eira chuckled, and Odessa glared at her angrily. “What belongs to you? Nothing ever belonged to you, Eira. You stole everything from me just like your mom tried to do to my parents. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree then—” Her head was whacked to the side by a forceful blow from Eira. “All is fair in love and war, Odessa.” And right in her presence, Eira flipped open a small vial and poured the entire contents into her mouth. Odessa arched as Eira’s eyes turned to an ugly mix of purple and green. The latter smiles creepily before standing on her feet and walking off. Odessa curled into herself as she suddenly felt exposed to the people wearing black cloaks on their bodies; she watched as they drew different symbols on the floor and brought in weird ornaments and objects that creeped the hell out of her. Odessa quickly bowed, covering her eyes and ears and falling asleep as the drug in her system hadn

AUTHOR’S POVOdessa woke up to the feeling of cold water all over her body. Her heavy eyes slowly adjusted to the dim brightness of the cave, and her eyes roamed the walls that looked like they'd seen a million murders. “Ahhh, sleeping beauty is finally awake.” Her head snapped in front of her as she stared at Eira, who slowly crouched down to look at her at eye level. “Where am I?” Odessa asked as she stared at the cloak-covered people walking around them, glancing at her from the corner of their eyes before walking away and completely ignoring her existence. “And who are these people?” “This…” Eira gestured at the cave, “This is your gravesite, and these people are your fans.” She smiled genuinely, and Odessa tilted her head to the side. The smile on Eira’s face quickly disappeared. “You don't look fazed.” Odessa shrugged, perks of having the moon goddess as your cab driver. “Did you kidnap me just to kill me, or is there something different that you want?”“Hmm, I'm quite disa

CHAPTER 186AUTHOR’S POVThe manservant fell on his two knees as he approached the two kings, his hand shivering as he held out a letter to the Lycan King."Your Majesty, I've been trying to reach you for days." The manservant said, his gaze completely fixed on Kaiden even as King Odesseus stared at him in confusion. "Hammed, do you know where my mate is?" Kaiden asked, reaching for the paper in the servant's hands.Hammed nodded, "Last night, after the princess was placed on house arrest, I went to her chambers and lingered in the hallway, watching out for her like you ordered, when I saw Princess Eira walking up to the guards and whispering something in their ears. I couldn't hear them properly, but she was given access even after the King ordered that no one visit Princess Odessa in her chambers."Hammed paused, glancing at King Odesseus, wondering how he would say what he was about to say next without losing his tongue."Hammed!" Kaiden called out warningly, and the spy gulped.

AUTHOR’S POVOdessa walked in on her father having breakfast; as soon as he saw her, his eyes lit up with joy and then dimmed. “Odessa, you’re here. I was expecting you.”“Of course, you were. What was that letter about, father?”Odesseus stared at his daughter with raised eyebrows. “Exactly what you read in it.”Odessa’s lips shook with anger. “Father, if Eira is threatening—”“That’s a very inappropriate thing to say about your sister.”“She’s not my fucking sister! She is not, and I know she’s manipulating you. Just tell me what she has on you, and I’ll resolve it, I promise. Just tell—“ODESSA!” Odesseus yelled, glaring hard at his daughter. Odessa took a step backwards, staring at her father in shock. Did he just yell at her?“Father—”“I told you to drop it. Why do you never listen to me?”“Don’t be so shocked, father. Odessa has always been like that.”The princess turned and saw Eira dressed in their Urabian attire. A flashback crossed her mind as she remembered Eira being

Do you have nine lives or something?” Kaiden raised an eyebrow, his gaze filled with disappointment. Odessa pouted, “Well, considering the amount of time I've reincarnated, I'm sure I'm on life three.” She crossed the distance between them and snuggled her way into his lap like a feline, purring and growling once she was comfortable in his arms, “It was a spur on the moment of decision. I wasn't planning on raiding her room in the first place.” “Did you find anything then?” Kaiden asked, his voice vibrating through his chest against her body that was sprawled over him. “No, not a speck of evidence, except the fact that she finally confessed to also remembering our past life.” Kaiden sat up suddenly, his arms went around her petite body to stop her from falling off him and hitting the huge desk in front of them, “She r

What were you thinking?” Evelyn asked her and Odessa sighed. She'd been so deep in her thoughts that she'd poured too much tea in her cup that it overflowed. She embedded Evelyn’s hand inside the ball of water and it stayed like that until they got to the first aid kit. “Is this about what happened last night?” Evelyn asked as Odessa busied herself with applying ointment on her burns. “Hm.” She nodded absentmindedly. “Di
