Logan's POV

I stood frozen, my mind spinning as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing. Ruby and Julian? Together? What was happening between them?

First, Julian had shown up at Sophie’s birthday party with Ruby. That alone had stirred something in me, questions I couldn’t shake off.

And now, here they were again, together in her office, like there was some kind of secret they were keeping.

I couldn’t piece it together, no matter how hard I tried. The answers felt just out of reach, slipping through my fingers like water.

Yet, I couldn’t tear my eyes away. Standing there in Ruby’s office, I watched them through the transparent glass, their movements, their expressions it all seemed too familiar. Too close.

“I need to figure out what’s going on between them,” I whispered under my breath, the words barely audible even to myself.

I turned away and stepped out of her office, but the uneasy feeling stayed with me. The corridor was empty, and my stomach sank when I realized they were

Was this what we had come to after everything we’d been through together? The thought made my stomach churn.“A blackmail?” I asked again, my eyebrows drawing together in a tight frown. My voice was quieter this time, but there was no mistaking the edge in my tone.Logan didn’t say a word. He just stood there, staring at me with that desperate, determined look on his face. It was like he didn’t even realize what he had just done, how low he had sunk. I felt a surge of bitter anger rise in my chest.Wow. I didn’t realize he could be this desperate. Desperate enough to use my own secrets against me just to get hold of the company. It was pathetic. And it hurt.My whole body burned with anger, a searing ache that I couldn’t shake off. Julian's POV“What about the documents that were supposed to be submitted to the Prime Stone Company?” I asked, glancing at my assistant with a sharp gaze. My voice was calm but carried the weight of expectation.“They were submitted last week, sir,” he replied, his tone steady and professional.Hearing his answer, I felt a wave of relief and familiarity wash over me. My assistant was still the same reliable, efficient, and someone I could count on in this chaotic second chance at life.I had avoided going to my company’s headquarters. I knew that if I stepped into that building, I would inevitably cross paths with the Thompson family. I wasn’t ready for that confrontation. Not yet. Instead, I chose to stay at home, working tirelessly in the quiet of my study.Work began piling up quickly, but I didn’t mind. Fortunately, my memories from my past life were int

Ruby's POV:The next morning, as the soft sunlight filtered through my curtains, the first name that came to mind was Sophie. My chest tightened with unease. Why, after everything, did she suddenly want to apologize? It didn’t make sense. Sophie never did anything without a reason, and her reasons were rarely good.I pushed myself up, sitting on the edge of my bed as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Reaching for my phone on the nightstand, I opened the message she had sent. Her words stared back at me, simple yet unsettling.“What if it’s a trap?” I muttered to myself, my voice low as if someone could overhear me. “Nothing good ever comes from Sophie.”A strange feeling clung to me, one I couldn’t shake. It wasn’t fear exactly, but it wasn’t confidence either. It was like being caught in the middle of a storm, unsure if it would pass or if it was about to get worse. Half of me wanted to hear her out, to see what this so-called apology was about. The other half screamed at me to s

She dropped into her chair, her movements sharp and irritated. Julian's POV. I tried calling Ruby to warn her about Sophie, her sister. Something about Sophie’s behavior recently had been bothering me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that she was up to something dangerous. I needed Ruby to know now. But when I called her phone, it rang and rang. She didn’t answer.“Why isn’t she picking up?” I muttered, gripping my phone tightly. A knot formed in my stomach. Ruby had to know what was happening before it was too late. Sophie could be setting a trap, and if Ruby walked into it without knowing, I’d never forgive myself.I sat there, staring at my phone, waiting for it to light up with her name. Minutes felt like hours. Maybe she didn’t have her phone on her. Or maybe… maybe she already knew about Sophie’s plans? The thought barely comforted me. What if she didn’t? What if she was walking straight into danger? The clock kept ticking, and before I knew it, it was almost midnight. Still no call from Ruby. My heart sank. Was she that busy? Or worse

Ruby's POV.“Sign the divorce papers,” Logan threw the divorce papers at me with a sharp, dismissive gesture. The papers fluttered through the air before landing on my lap. I sat there in my wheelchair, feeling a deep, unsettling shock. “You know I don’t appreciate this kind of joke,” I said, trying to laugh, but my voice trembled. It was a special day; how could he be so cruel as to end our marriage now?“This isn’t a joke,” Logan’s voice was harsh and cold. “Just sign the damn papers. It’s over between us.”As I looked up at him, the coldness in his eyes hit me like a punch to the gut. He wasn’t kidding; he was serious. “Stop staring at me with that pitiful look and just sign it,” Logan’s tone was icy, his words cutting through the room. His detachment and finality left me numb, struggling to grasp how everything had happened so quickly.“It’s our fourth wedding anniversary,” I said, my voice breaking as my heart raced uncontrollably. “You can’t do this. Slapping her in front of Ruby and her grandmother it was a terrible move, I admit it. But Sophie had pushed me to the edge. She cornered me, left me with no other way to react.I was furious, absolutely fuming. The frustration bubbled up inside me, making my whole body tense. What Sophie did… it wasn’t just a mistake. It wasn’t something small. She completely destroyed everything I had been working for.Everything I’ve waited for since marrying Ruby gone, just like that. It wasn’t about love. It was about that opportunity. The one thing I had my eyes set on when I walked down that aisle. And Sophie, she just snatched it away from me.Why? Why would she do this to me? What was going through her head? How could she be so careless, so cruel? The thought burned in my mind, over and over again. She knows. Sophie kno
