Chapter 6

"Did you have a mate before me"

The question i avoided like the plague. One i made sure to never have asked or repeated.

I've worked so hard to make sure no one asked about my past and the only people in my pack that knew about my old pack , old mate and why i left were Tyler and Justin,  his mate.

Tyler was my beta and had been with me every step of the way since i was adopted by my foster family where i met my- ex mate.

"Lets go to sleep okay, you're exhausted. " i say trying to distract him but it doesn't work.

"No im not, and don't try to change the subject. Im your mate as much as you don't like that, you do know that you can talk to me about anything right and i would never judge you. Same way you didn't judge me but just listen to me when i told you about my mom" he says a little sad but i ignore it and glare slightly.

"I didn't ask for a mate and what does it matter if i had one before you? The past is in the past and i dont ever want to talk about my past. Now let's get some sleep. Goodnight Andrew. " I say and turn to lay on my side facing away from him so that my back was facing him.

"You could have been nice to him you know, he's trying and so are his wolf/vamp" Belle tells me sadly through the link blocks me before i could respond to her but i know she knows why i am taking time to trust anyone again.

I didn't even trust my ex mate per say but the stories my old pack members used to tell me about finding your and how beautiful it was to trust someone so much and more bullshit lies about your mate falling in love with you immediately and taking care of you no matter what specie they are or where you come from. How powerful a mate bond is and could never be broken.

Pathetic lies they were indeed.

"Goodnight little mate" he says out of it and just lays on his back , while staring up. And now i was starting to feel a little bad.

Back at the moonlight pack(Manuelas old pack)

"You are a pack doctor damn it , make something work." Jason screams to the pack doctor as he holds the doc against the wall and his 'chosen mate ' tries to calm him down by grabbing onto his arm but nothing works.

"Mia leave me alone , get out of here" he says to his mate as nicely as he can and she leaves sadly looking at the pack doctor before she walks out the door to the main pack house.

"Alpha Jason,  I'm trying my best and my best scientist are working on making a medicine that helps Luna Mia carry the baby to term. So far the others are working because no matter what we invent , luna Mia is your chosen mate and only your true mate is able to carry a pup to term, the doctor tells him scared and he just throws him to the ground and starts trashing his office.

"You good for nothing piece of shit,  i pay you enough to come up with the best medicine we can use that helps my mate carry a God damn pup to term and you instead tell me bullcrap I've heard from all the other six doctors. Make it work or else if Mia looses my little pup i swear to the goddess that I'll kill you and your wife and banish your twins to become rogues. How old are they now , 6months? Not old enogh to fend for themselves , hell they would be sold and taken as sex slaves for all i care by those disgusting rogues so you better come up with something and fast." He says menacingly and the doctors face pales.

"Alpha please don't,  I've got a solution but it involves someone i know you never want to see again but im afraid if you want Luna to carry an heir to term , its the only way." He says scared and that catches Jason's attention but he nods his head and then says

"Im listening" as the doctor starts explaining everything to him.

Back at the Queens pack

"It's been about 4 days now Belle , get your ass out here " i say to my stubborn wolf but still get no response. Shes been like this since the day of my first heat when i told Andrew to stop asking about my previous mate. I  didn't confirm nor deny anything, but i also wasntready to let anyone other than Tyler and Justin know. Not just yet.  Maybe not even ever.

Andrew himself has been distant and hard on , well everyone you could say. He gives me short answers when we need to communicate , he's even harder on the pack members from both our packs and oh yeah ,he's been avoiding me like the plague.

Not that i cared anyway, with him out of the way , i get things done quickly and without distractions.

"Or so you say" Belle says annoyed

"Oh so you do in fact speak and why are you ignoring me" i ask aloud since its just me in the office , and well Belle too.

"Because you're selfish , we finally found someone that wants us , he doesn't want to reject us , not his wolf or vamp and you're ruining our chances " she links angrily and i scoff.

"Im protecting you , us. We can't take rejection anymore , it almost killed us , i almost lost you." I say hurt that she is saying that.

"Protecting me? No you are protecting yourself , not me. You're so afraid of rejection that you don't see that our second chance is right out that door. You say you're afraid of rejection because you know how it feels yet you want Andrew , who has done nothing wrong to us and yes he may e a little crazy but he still wants us as a mate. You don't know how long he's been waiting to find his other half, us. And yet you're blowing our chances of being happy because Jason turned you bitter." She says and growls lowly then blocks me out.

I take her words in and really start feeling bad.

Could i really be blowing my shot at happiness out of fear?
