Mia's Pov:
Two months ago, he died. It's been two months since I've slept peacefully. I see him when I close my eyes. My dreams have transformed into nightmares. He was the one who understood me. The one who was there for me. Now, he's gone. Who do I have left? Who do I matter too? I have nothing.
My stepmother and I recently moved to this new city. I'll be starting college today. It's been a hustle. Losing my father hasn't been the easiest to get used to.
~*~*~*~
I get dressed and go downstairs, into the kitchen.
"Morning, honey," I hear her say.
"Morning, mom," I replied to her. We're close. My biological mom left when I was young. My stepmom has been the only mom I've known.
"Are you ready for your first day of school?"
"Ugh, no, mom. Do I have to go?"
"Yes, sweetie. I'm not going to be here when you get back from school. I'm working late," she announces. Again like always.
"Okay, mom. See you whenever I do."
~*~*~*~
Once I was out of my car, everyone stopped and stared. I walk to the school door when I hear the whispers here and there. I feel like I'm walking into the lion's den. I step inside, hoping to find my way to the student's registration desk when I hit a wall. I'm about to hit the floor when I feel somebody catch me. When I look up I see the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen in my life. They're deep; it's like looking into the ocean. The man who's got them is hot. I don't realize how long I've been staring until I hear him clear his throat.
"Hmm, sorry," I mumble.
"No, it's okay. Next time, watch where you are going, cutie," he winks.
I feel myself blushing hot red. Surely, I must look like a tomato.
"Oh, um, hi. Would you be able to point me towards the registration desk?"
"Of course, my sister comes to this school. I can take you there. Let's go, he says.
On our way to the office, I feel like people are looking at me. When I look up some boys are looking at me like I'm their next meal. Thank God, not everyone is looking at me. I don't like to be the center of attention.
"Here we are, cutie pie."
Now, for sure, I look like a tomato.
"Thank you..."
"Damian Gray. Nice to meet you," he extends his hand to me. "You are?".
"Jessica Jones, nice to meet you," I replied.
"I will see you later, cutie," Damien says.
I made my way towards the desk.
"Hi, my name is Jessica Jones. I was hoping to get a new copy of my class schedule," I tell the lady at the desk."
"Yes, of course, do you have your student number?"
I hand over my student identification card with the information she'll need.
"Okay, I've found you," she says. She then hands me the paper she just printed with my schedule. "It looks like you were assigned someone to show you around. You can wait over there on those seats."
"Okay. Thank you so much," I replied.
I sit next to a girl with blue hair, blue cat glasses, and cute nails. I wait.
"Hey, what's your name?" I hear her ask me.
"Jessica Mia Jones. What's yours?"
"Antonella Gray. Nice to meet you. I think I've been assigned to be your tour guide today."
"Likewise," I smile at her. "Where do we start?"
Antonella stands from her seat. She extends her arms enthusiastically.
"Welcome to US University, Jessica Jones. You can call me Nella. I hope you've read the code of conduct. If not..." she leans in to whisper. "It'll be fine. I'll tell you about the most important points."
"Okay," I laugh. "In all honesty, I did not read it. I was busy moving to the city. Please call me Mia."
"No worries, girl. I've got you," she says. "Perhaps you can come to a party tonight. You'll meet some people since you're new to both the town and this college. It's a frat house party so don't set high expectations."
"I will pick you up at seven,'' she says. "You better be done by then."
I guess I have a new mother.
~*~*~*~
When I get home, I start working on my homework in my bedroom. It's five o'clock by the time I'm done with it. I have three hours to get dressed. I take a quick bath, then get dressed. I'm finished getting ready by six-thirty. I hurried downstairs to write a note to my mom letting her know that I went to a party. Twenty minutes later I hear the beep of a car horn. I hurry to get my bag and put on my shoes before heading out the door. When I get in the car, Nella introduces me to her brother who's none other than Damian Gray - the one who showed me to the registration desk - and her boyfriend, Mike.
The frat house is filled with people who've come to the party. Nella takes me straight to the drink bar. She asks for two beers.
"What do you want?" she asked me.
"I don't drink," I reply.
"Well, there's a first for everything" She winks.
She grabs the two beers that have been set on the island. She hands one to me.
"Cheers," she clicks her bottle to mine. She takes a sip from hers.
~*~*~*~
I don't know how much I've had to drink, but I feel fantastic.
"JESSICA!!!" He screeches.
"Why are you screaming, handsome?" I ask him.
"How much did you drink?" Damian asks, "I told you not to drink too much."
"But I didn't drink that much. I mean I can still count till 10" I said.
"Ok, then. Go ahead. I want to hear it," The handsome guy says.
Ok, here goes nothing. "1... 2... 4..."
"Nope, let's go. You're drunk," Damian says while he was picking me up.
"But the party...."
"You're drunk. I'm taking you home," He leaves no room for anything else.
Damian P.o.v: "Hey, man, wake up! We are going to be late!" "Mike, get out! I'll be ready in twenty," I exclaim. You'd think a twenty-five-year-old would have the freedom to sleep-in. That's not the case when you're the Alpha of a wolf pack. I get out of bed, do my morning routine, then I go downstairs. Antonella, my sister, walks up to me with the biggest smile. "Good morning, big bro," she greets. "Don't forget you promised to take me to school today." I groan. Everyone is after me today. "C'mon then. Let's go," I say. "Yay!" Nella squeals. I wince. Dear God, no, please. Nella happily beelines to my car and gets in. I follow suit to the driver's seat. I take her to US University, twenty minutes away from the pack-house. We enter the gated campus and drive to the main building where I'll be dropping her off. As a former alumnus, I know my way around. Walking in the hall, I feel something soft hit me. I look down and see the most beautiful girl is about to fall, I catch her
Mia's P.o.v: I wake up with the sun on my face. Ugh. Why does my head hurt? "Mom, why did you open the curtains?" I ask. "Mom?" an unknown voice asks me. "Since when did I become your mom, Cutie-pie?" I let out a scream when I opened my eyes and saw Damian. "What are you doing in my room?" "Your room?" he says. "Cutie-pie, had you opened your beautiful eyes earlier, you would've seen this isn't your room nor your home." I take a look around. He is, in fact, right. This isn't my bedroom. Omg, why am I so stupid? I feel myself become red with embarrassment. "Why does my head hurt so much?" I ask Damian. "What happened?" "Maybe because you are experiencing a hangover?" he said. "Do you remember what happened last night?" "Hangover?" I ask. "But I don't drink. I don't remember anything from last night." "Well, princess, last night you did drink a lot." "What else happened last night?" "Well, you and Nella had a lot to drink. Mike and I had to carry you and Nella to the car 'ca
Mia's P.o.v: I can't believe what I'm hearing. I was kidnaped?! Does mom know about this? If she does, why hasn't she said anything to me? Is she and dad my real family? Is this the reason why she always acted strange when I asked her about my father? So many questions that only one person can answer. "What is your mother's name?" Austin asks me. "Sybil Leek," I reply. I watch his face turn angry. Damian moves in front of me just as Austin lets out a growl. Damian's back is to me, covering any sight of Austin. What the heck is happening? Damian whispers something to Austin. I don't quite catch what he says but I swear he told him to calm down. Austin moves. I catch sight of his arm. What? Are those claws? They disappear so fast I'm not sure if I did see them or not. Austin walks away and he's out the door. Damian turns to me. "What's going on?" I ask him. "I'm sorry. It's not my story to tell," he replies. "What is not your story to tell?" I say. "Damian, I'm confused." "I
Austin P.o.v: It's been 10 years since I last saw my little sister. Questions constantly invade my thoughts.. Where is she? Is she alive? Does she remember me? Does she think about her family? "Alpha, I think we crossed a border," says my beta. "Ok, let's slow down so it won't look like we are attacking," I said. "When the warriors reach us, don't attack." "Yes, sir," everyone replies. When we arrive closer to the pack-house on this territory, not only are we met by their warriors but by their Alpha Damien Gray. The person I was hoping to talk to. "What are you doing here, rogue?" The Alpha sneers. "I came here to warn you," I replied. "Warn me?" He asks. "What for?" "The Alpha of the Half Moon pack is starting a war," I state. "What do you mean with war?" Damien asks. "I was walking around his border and I heard one of his guards saying that their alpha is planning a war and every pack who doesn't join them will die," I say, point-blank. I don't care if I'm killed for tre
**Important note at the end** ~*~*~*~ Damian P.o.v: "Sybil Leek, are you going to tell Mia the truth?" I ask "Yes I'm going to tell her but you guys can't stay here," she says. "They are following you but don't worry I have masked your scent from a mile away so they won't know where you guys went". "But how did you know we were coming?" Austin Ask "I'm a witch, remember?" she answers "Tell Mia, I'm picking her up tomorrow, I don't want her going anywhere alone," I said "Okay, that's a good idea," she says, "but please keep an eye on the people who surrounding you cause there is a spy in your pack" "And why should I trust you?" Austin asks. "I never told you that you should trust me" she answered. ~*~*~*~ Sybil P.o.v: "I never told you to trust me,'' I said. Mia's pov: Everything around me came to me. I could hear and feel everything. My state of mind was groggy. I wasn't sure if it was the dream or just plain exhaustion from the past few days."What was that dream?" someone asks. "What does it mean?" someone asks. I don't recognize any of the voices while entering my own mind. It was difficult to figure this out with only so little information. My head was starting to ache. But there was no one else here. Just my mom and she were in the living room. "I have a bad feeling about this!" That voice I recognized. It was mine. I was speaking out loud. Why hadn't I recognized my voice at first? I shook my head. Everything was a jumbled mess in here. In this room. In my mind. I couldn't think anymore. I just wanted to lay down… fall asleep. But hadn't I just woken up from a dream? Jeez, why was I so tired? I tried getting out of bed before I got the urge to go to the restroom. Everything felt limp and heavy as I struggled to the one down
