Chapter 5

*Bhairavi Pov*

I curled up more in the warmth and felt all the tiredness leaving my flesh after taking that King’s life for my parents. Now everything will be better after I return to my Kingdom and try to fulfill my parents wishes regarding the ruling.

“Princess, you can wake up now.” I heard a voice and I followed it’s suit opening my eyes and stared at someone hovering up near me.

“Who are you?” I questioned the person frowning while rubbing my eyes.

“Again with the question, Lass. And will you not open your eyes until you are gestured as Princess?” He questioned in mockery.

His voice feels to be very familiar and I abruptly sat up to see that he is the warrior I fought with and also from whom I jumped into the ocean after hearing that I am now his Slave.

“Stay away from me.” I uttered backing away and stared back into his eyes.

“We are near my land, lass. Now get down and get yourself bind.” He said backing away to give me some space to get down.

“Do you feel that I am a wee baby? Why would I follow your words blindly which has my loss?” I questioned him and glanced around the small room for some kind of thing with which I can fight him and ran away.

“I am just giving a chance in which it doesn’t involve me in hurting you.” He replied shrugging before stepping near me holding the ropes.

I started removing the blankets and saw that my attire is changed into some lad’s apparel. I stared at the man before me and mumbled “Please do tell me that you have a maid in this vessel.”

“Why do we need one for?” He questioned back.

“Then who changed my apparel?” I questioned him getting down from the cot.

“I did!” he replied with a shrug.

“How could you?” I asked pushing him back with all the anger that some unknown man changed my apparel.

“You were soaked and needed to be changed otherwise your life would have left your flesh. I would have been happy to witness that, but with the honor I have in me, I couldn’t sit back.” He said pushing me back and started binding my hands when my glance was at him.

“Why are you binding me?” I questioned him tugging my hands away.

At the same moment I heard a knock on the door this small room has, making me frown at it. And then it got opened, revealing two men standing near the door.

“We are here, Alastair.” One man mumbled while the other just gave me a smile.

“Where is here?” I questioned them.

“Nadir!” the man with the smile replied making me frown.

“Where is Nadir?” I questioned them again.

“We all are tired from all the travelling and the war. Now hush your questions and move.” The man whose name is Alastair mumbled holding me in his arms and I slapped them away before walking towards the door.

I need to know where this place is before doing anything and start my journey towards Agatha. How can I trust them to reveal my title to them?

They did a war in an unethical way with some liquid and which makes them similar to Ramsey. I need to be silent about that matter and need to find a way.

“I gestured you as Princess just once. So you need not act like one and move with speed.” Alastair barked from behind me.

“Just because I wore a lad’s attire, that doesn’t change the fact that I am a lass.” I retorted back in normal tone making many warriors around us laugh.

“Do not utter another word.” He threatened before getting down from the vessel holding me.

I glanced around to see the complete barren land and no living being can be found here. I looked back to see Alastair already staring at me with a glare.

“What did I do to you for bringing me here to take my life away?” I questioned him while everyone gave another laugh.

“This is our land.” He replied.

“I do not see anything here. Is Nadir just a barren land?” I questioned him and others.

“Colton! Give me a piece of cloth.” Alastair asked the smiling man.

“No Alastair! It is entertaining all of us.” He mumbled smiling at me again.

“Here!” some man mumbled following his words.

“Thanks Gavin!” Alastair mumbled before stepping towards me.

“Do not come near me.” I uttered before running towards the way we are going, but he caught up with me because of my attire and covered my mouth with that cloth.

“Now, we all will have some pleasantness.” He said before walking ahead still holding me in my arms.

I started to struggle, but stopped when I saw few huts and the land is no more barren with few people moving around. Everyone gave an elated look, but it turned into a dejected look after looking around the men.

We continued to walk and stopped near a small building and which is the only one in this place. All the men already left the group walking towards their huts except us both along with Gavin and Colton.

“He is not going to be pleased.” Gavin mumbled.

“I know! Let us see how bad it will be.” Alastair mumbled before everyone walked inside the chamber like room and dragged me inside.

I glanced up to see a throne occupied by an elder man and there is another throne which would be for his queen. So he must be their king and Alastair’s father as he is the future ruler.

“I got a word that Ramsey was not with you all. Did you lose the battle?” The King asked them.

“No, your highness. We won the battle, but..” Gavin trailed off in the middle.

“Ramsey is no longer alive, your highness.” Alastair said with no fear in his tone.

“How can that happen, Alastair? I remember ordering all of you to bring him without executing him.” He barked and I frowned at his tone.

“We can’t change what happened. But do tell me who went against my order.” He mumbled after few minutes passed.

“She!” They three said gesturing me.

“She?” He questioned them with disbelief on his face and I gave him a glare for thinking that I am not capable of it just because I am a lass.

“Ok! Why did she do it and who is she?” He questioned them when he stared into my eyes.

“We do not know.” Colton replied.

“Let her talk!” he ordered them and the cloth got removed from my mouth in a second.

“Who are you?” I questioned the King to know his name.

“I am Teodor, the king of Nadir.” He replied without a thought.

“King of Nadir! You did an unethical thing by getting a victory in a war without passing a notify and also by using a liquid.” I said staring at him.

“Do not talk to his highness in that way. Do not forget that the way you executed Ramsey is also in unethical ways.” Alastair barked at me.

“No! I removed his binds and gave him time to get his soldiers to stop me or himself. I took his life after he was foolish enough to think that I was there to save him.” I mumbled in a calm tone.

“We heard that she was his slave.” Gavin mumbled glancing at me.

“No! I was not a slave to that cruel man.” I shouted at him with a glare.

“What did he do to you?” King asked in a calm tone.

“He took the life of my parents and I avenged for their death.” I replied in the similar calm tone.

“I am sorry to hear that, Lass. What is your name?” King questioned in a soothing tone.

“I am Bhairavi and I want to know where is Nadir.” I replied.

He nodded before explained me the location and also told me that they are not under the council and rule against the council. This is not a good thing at all as I am on the other side of the world from my Kingdom and these are not favored to council.

“She should have been punished for this act in that land and must have been sent away. Why did you bring her here?” King asked the three men while I contemplated on what to do now.

“She lost a battle with him and even got saved by him.” Colton replied gesturing Alastair.

“What is your say in this, Alastair?” King questioned him while I stared at him too.

“She is my slave, your highness.” He replied staring into my eyes.

“What? I am not.” I screamed, hearing his words and he immediately took me into his arms muffling my words of protesting.

“Well, she can stay here as your responsibility and the people will understand.” King said after a few minutes passed of staring at both of us.

“We will take your leave, your highness.” Alastair said before stepping out of the chamber along with Gavin and Colton.

“Jacey will not be happy hearing this, Alastair.” Gavin said to him in a threatening tone.

“Your father accepted for this, Gavin. And do not come into my matters.” Alastair threatened  back.

“She is my Sister and I have every right to look after her welfare.” Gavin retorted.

“And this woman is my slave which will never change.” Alastair uttered before walking away from them still holding me to him ignoring all my protests.
