chapter 9.9

Hello my readers, this is kind of a bonus chapter to dive a bit into Daisy’s thoughts. The continuation of chapter eight will be in chapter ten. Thanks.

Daisy’s POV

I had gone a tour to promote my latest project but I never expected to find my brother already married when I returned.

I can’t really say I had no idea about the fact that my brother would be married.

My mother and step-father used to talk about how they wanted to expand the family business, how they wanted their company to have a partnership with another successful one.

They have actually been planning of this partnership for sometime now but all attempts to get a successful company to partner with them proved futile.

I mean, what type of a company owner in his or her right senses would want to give up a fifty percent control to another company? No one would do that.

Me and Zavier always tried to tell them to settle for a company that is just starting, a company that is thriving for a push not one that has already been able to push itself to the top but they would always tell us that they would find one.

One funny thing about it was that, they did not also want to partner with a company that is going bankrupt or a company that may be loosing its investors.

My parents are too over themselves.

How in the world can you find a company owner who is dumb enough to give up fifty percent control of their well established company?

For what crazy reason would anyone want to do that?

However, I was in for a surprise when I returned.

To say I was very shocked when I was told by my egoistic parents that they have finally found a company would be an understatement.

And what even surprised me more is when I found out that the company is the famous HM company.

I asked them what they did to the owner for her to give them that amount of control on her company.

I thought maybe, because the new owner is a female, they used some sort of manipulations on her.

However, my parents told me they would not have even agreed to partner with the HM company because they claim the company was loosing their investors but they compromised when the owner promised to give her daughter’s hand in marriage.

Like seriously? Why would anyone give away fifty percent power over their company together with their daughter to another person. What will prompt this action from someone?

What even made me want to meet my brother faster is when they told me that the girl is a teenager who is still in school.

I know how fragile my brother has become ever since the happenings of that evening, the evening we both lost a fiancé and a best friend.

Even though Zavier always act tough in front of the public, he is one hell of a softhearted person.

I eagerly want to see how my brother is coping with the situation.

I know he never got over the death of his beloved so definitely, this marriage will be a big blow to him.

One thing I am also sure of is that my brother would never agree to marry a teenager who is in school but I also know how scheming my parents can get. I know he was lured into it.

Very early morning of the next day of my arrival, I go to meet my brother and his new wife.

I know he will be very surprised to see me that early because he thinks I am still on tour plus he is not really someone who fancy people coming into his house that early in the morning but I just want to surprise him.

I decide to go to his old apartment but I was told by my parents the other day that he had moved to a new location and they also provide me with the new address.

Since Zavier brought the same maids to his new house and I am familiar with all his maids in the house, I do not have any problem entering the house.

I also tell them not to tell Zavier about my presence.

When I get to the dining hall, I see my brother happily having diner with whom I think is his wife.

To be honest, I did not expect to see that.

For once, I can see my brother is genuinely happy.

He has a genuine smile on his face.

Immediately Xavier sees me, he makes the face I already know very well, that face that says, why the fuck are you in my house at this early in the morning!

The face he gives me almost makes me break into laughter but what I did not expect is the reaction I get from his wife.

' OMG! Daisy Hills' the young beautiful teenage girl exclaimed bubbly.

Right then, I immediately got to know that she is one of my many fans around the world.

I do not get very surprised at her reaction because some teenagers, especially girls like her tend to act even more extreme than her.

I see the girl stand up, probably intending to get close to me but Zavier immediately tells her to sit in a very stern voice.

I know what Zavier is intending to do.

He is probably trying to protect his wife from any embarrassment but I would not have even done anything to the girl.

I know I am not really a sociable person but I seem to have developed a liking to the girl plus I could see my brother already like her.

I wanted to tell my brother to stop but he interrupts with a question.

"Ummm... so I guess I have an introduction to make? " he asks as he stares at me.

’Of course, you do brother.’ I tell him, smirking.

’Zarie, meet my sister Daisy and as for you,..’ Zavier says as and trails off the last part as he stares at me.

"I can clearly guess that you have already heard something about her.’ Zavier says as he points a finger at his wife, whom I have come to realize is called Zarie.

However, Zarie seems to not have recovered yet from her starstruck state. 

I can’t blame her though. I see this a lot.

"Hello sister in-law" I said as I extended my hand to Zarie for a shake.

However, Zarie still does not recover from her dazed state and keeps on to stare at me.

Before we realize, Zarie had already fallen on the cold floor, already passed out.

Whiles Zarie is still in her unconscious state, my brother tells me how afraid he was that history may repeat itself.

'Yeah, yeah I get your point very well but she just came into your life So I do not even see the reason why you should even be worried about her, already having discoveries about your past. 

Relax. Unless you have by chance told her something?’ I ask him and he nods negatively.

I think that what happened some years back has really left a big mark on Zavier, more than I even thought.

However, I try all my possible best to calm him down.

I try to reason things out with him.

I also ask him when he was going to tell Zarie about the past and he says he had planned to go to our parents’ place and would have told her everything there.

I do not know why he would choose that location for such a sensitive topic.

I know he just wants to stall.

I know how things are hard for Zavier because I also feel the same.

That night has left a great scar on my heart but I know we have to get over it and try a new start, and try to give ourselves a chance at life.

I was even more glad when Zavier said he thinks Zarie is his chance at a second chance.

I also think so too. I am happy my brother is giving himself a chance, a fresh start to happiness.

I think the contract is not just a contract but a blessing in disguise, a redemption in disguise for my brother.

I think it is a chance fate has presented to Zavier for him to experience happiness all over again.
