Andrei cocked his head in disbelief. “Is that not…”

I nodded as my laugh came to a halt. “He is the one. Why am I even surprised?”

We’d always been on opposite sides since we were children and while we hated each other’s guts, I did not consider him an enemy. I stayed out of his way and I thought he stayed out of mine but apparently not since he had been tracking my men for a while now.

Granted, we were not brothers by blood but he had still been a part of my family growing up. I thought we had mutual respect for each other.
