Chapter 34 - Breaking Point

My eyes were swollen shut; Phillip had beaten me to the brink of collapse before stopping. He would allow me to heal enough before he started all over again. We had been in this cycle for what must have been hours now.

His knuckles were bloody, a mixture of mine and his blood coating them; the copper smell of blood filled the air. I lay slumped over in the corner of the room. My chains were long forgotten as he sat in a chair across from me, his eyes never leaving me. Even though I couldn't see it, I could feel the way his stare made my skin crawl. But I wasn't the only one feeling the pain of this beating. I got a little satisfaction out of the fact that I knew his face and arms were bleeding, too; my nails had dug into him every time he took a swing.

I never stopped fighting. I wouldn't, but I knew I could only hold out so much longer before I passed out from my injuries. My head was a constant pulse, matching the rhythm of my heartbeat.

This makes me so sad. However, I dont think she will put her magic in the stone. Maybe perhaps she fakes it.

Ugh- idk, I don’t think someone in her position could so easily cave to their demands when they would be hurting/killing a lot more than just one of her friends not to mention HER mate that she just agreed to help kill at the first demand ...
