It had been three months since Jessica's last confrontation with her mother. Exactly three months since she started to live in the rich lad's mansion. And three months of being caged inside. In those past months, she hadn't seen her friends, co-workers nor her dearest mother.
'I wonder how they are now.' Jessica thought.
And to top this all of, it had been three months since she last came out of this mansion. That was his command. For her to stay and never come out of the house until he says so.
But not today. She was really bored at the moment and couldn't think of any single thing to do inside the mansion, rather than explore it more. The maids, chef, and other people inside the house working for him wouldn't let her help with the chores. They said that it was his command to not let her do anything in the house.
She wanted to go out, maybe catch up with some of her friends since it’s been so long when she last saw them. She missed them so much. So, she thought, since Philip's not home, maybe she could sneak out.
But she really was just so unlucky, even today....
"Where are you going?" Philip asked her while he locked the door behind. She had no emotion on his face. His eyes were fixed on the brunette in front of him. "Are you sneaking out?" His voice was cold.
"Uhm, n-no, I just wanted to get some fresh air." She answered and bit her lip. She always had this mannerism to bite her lip whenever she's jealous, nervous or lying.
"Didn't I tell you to never go out of this mansion?" He sternly said. "Go to your room."
She was like a trained dog and did what Philip had told her to do.
It had been three months since she started to live with Philip under one roof. But they barely see each other. Maybe, twice or thrice a week, they’d bump to each other at the hall and if his schedule wasn’t jampacked, like it always is, Jess gets to share dinner with him but no words were ever exchanged between them.
Philip was always busy at work. He’s always in meetings. Even when he’s home, he’d lock himself up in his room. And most of the time, he’s out of town so he’s barely home anyway.
They're not even close, not even friends. He's such an asshole at times so Jessica didn't even bother approaching the lad. And she's also pissed off by his attitude. Things always have to go his way. What he wants had to happen. And if you dare contradict it, you'll be dead for sure.
Jess was brought out of her thoughts for there was a knock at the door. She stood up and answered the door only to be met by Samuel, Philip’s bodyguard.
"Miss Jessica, Mister Edwards called for you." Samuel told her. She just smiled at him as a response and nodded and Samuel was gone.
'What could he possibly need now?' Jessica thought yet shrugged it and went directly to Philip's library. He wasn't fond of waiting for too long. And that's just another thing why she was so pissed off at the lad.
She stood in front of the door and didn't hesitate to knock three times. When she saw that the door was open, she went inside.
"What?!" Jessica was surprised by the voice that just shouted. "Colin, I thought we're already done with that. What's the problem now?! You need to fix this or else!" Philip shouted then threw his phone across the room. "Fuck." He muttered under his breath but Jessica heard him right.
Jess just stood there still. She was terrified to what state the lad was in right now. This was the very first time she saw him be this mad. It was terrifying.
"What are you doing here?!" He spat at her direction.
"Y-you called for me?"
"Who told you that?"
"Samuel."
The lad looked at her oddly, thinking why he had called for the brunette's presence.
"Sit down." He commanded and she obliged right away. Jess sat down at the nearest chair. There had been a couple minutes of silence before Philip broke it.
"Marry me." He said emotionless.
After hearing him, Jessica's eyes widened. Did he hear him right? Marry him? Is he pulling a prank on her? Why on earth would this man want to marry her now? It’s just that simple? No need for proposal? He didn't even give her a ring.
"W-what?" That's all what came out of her mouth. The lad then gave her a death glare.
"Do I have to repeat myself, huh?" He rose one of his eyebrows at the brunette. Jessica shook her head. And silence fell upon them once again.
"Are you even serious?" She asked again.
"Does it look like I'm kidding?" He said with a serious face. 'Didn't his parents taught him how to smile?' Jessica thought.
"For what?" He won't ask straight away if he had no reason, right? There's got to be a reason. And Jess was determined to know what it is.
"That's none of your business." Philip answered back, turning his back on her to get something from his book shelf.
"What if I don't want to?"
Philip slowly turned around to look straight in Jessica’s eyes. He slowly made his way over to her. "You act as if you have a choice. You're mine and you'll do what I want." He firmly said as their faces were only a few inches apart.
Inside, she was trembling, scared at the way he loomed over her. With eyes so cold and deadly and yet she can’t look away from. But this fight was not something she could afford to lose. Three months was way too long to be cooped up, it was now time for her to stand her ground.
"I'm not a robot nor your slave,” She replied to Philip. “You don’t own me.”
An evil smirk slowly made its way onto his lips. "You're already my property since the day I bought you from your beloved Mother. Whether you like or not, you'll marry me."
"No," Jessica answered firmly. She promised herself that she'll one day marry the person that'll love her truly. Not someone she barely knew, nor someone who treats her like an object. Not Philip, there was simply no way.
"What?" Philip grabbed her arm that made Jessica shiver with alarm. Due to how tight the lad was holding her; Jess was sure that it would really leave a mark. "Have you forgotten who you’re talking to? You don't know what I could do to you and your precious mother."
"Never bring my mother into this."
"I won't." He released her arm. "If you agree to marry me." Philip then slowly leaned in and cupped her face.
This may not be what Jessica thought her engagement would be, all those years of dreaming about the perfect marriage with her dream guy, but she had no other choice. She doesn’t want to marry him but in order for this asshole to stop threatening her mother, she had no choice but to agree to what she wanted. After all, what he wants, he gets.
"I-I agree..." she whispered but enough for Philip to hear.
"Good." He smirked before slowly leaning into her ear. "As long as you agree to do as what you're told, we have no problem. Understood?" He whispered and Jessica nodded slightly.
"Now. Leave."
One year and six months since their so-called wedding. Things have changed after that. Well, some of it.Philip had decided for the both of them to go and look for another place to stay because his mansion was too big for the both of them. Or at least that’s what Jessica thought since her so-called husband was always busy at work and rarely comes home. In that one whole year, they never had a decent conversation. Not even once. Jessica will always open up a topic but the lad always replies with just one word.Philip was a very busy person. Jessica could see that. She surely w
Jessica woke up early. Strange. She even woke up earlier than usual, which meant, earlier than her alarm clock. But the reason to why she woke up early, was because of the dream she had. It was her father. She remembered the incident that happened a few years back, where her father died in a car crash. It was the reason why her mother hated her in the first place. It happened a few years back but the memories were still fresh to her."I miss you Dad." She muttered to herself but mentally snapped herself from the sad thoughts. "It’s too early to be sad. Cheer up, Jess." And with that, she stood up and made her way to her bathroom for a nice hot shower.
Jessica woke up with somebody poking her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes to be met by ocean blue ones."Wake up," The lad said and stood up from his seat. "Get your lazy ass up."The brunette suddenly fixed herself and stood up as well."Uhm Philip, do you know how long I've been sleeping?" She asked while fiddling with her fingers.
JESSICA"So, Mara, how was the preparation for your birthday party tomorrow?" Colin asked Xiomara."S'all good. It’s not that big though, I just invited you guys and some other people. And that includes my girlfriend." Xiomara answered and looked down. She was blushing and I really find it cute. She's stunning.Right now, we're in a restaurant, eating lunch together. Me, Philip, Elijah, Colin, Mon and Xiomara. Chloe wasn
"Does she know about your father's last will?" Colin asked the lad as they sat at the bar near the main lobby of the hotel, they were staying in. Philip couldn't sleep that night that's why he decided to go out and get some fresh air. He just happened to bump into Colin at the elevator, making the other lad join him for a drink. The blue-eyed lad shook his head after drinking his first shot. "This isn't the right time.""Phil, you have to tell her. She's involved in this situation and she also has the right to know." Colin said calmly before taking a sip from his drink.
Trigger Warning: Sexual AbuseI found myself standing in the middle of the hotel room, with Philip's back facing me. We stood there in silence. None of us bothered to talk. I don't even know what to say at this point. He still seemed to be in a bad mood and I don't want to deal with that right now.I mean, what am I supposed to say? Do I need to explain myself to him? Why? He doesn't seem to care for me in the first place so why should I bother?
Jessica woke up because of the loud banging sound coming from the door. Even if everything feels so heavy, she got up and opened the door. And walking a few steps away from the bed, she realized that she isn't in her room. She's inside their room. She also noticed that the clothes she wore last night were different from the clothes she's wearing right now. She remembered Philip ripping her shirt last night and she thought that maybe this over large shirt she's wearing right now was Philip's.Thinking about Philip made her remember what happened earlier that day. She sighed an
"Where are we?" Jessica asked her husband as she scanned the place."Just follow me." He said and walked inside the huge building where Samuel had dropped them off and didn't dare wait for the brunette. Seeing the lad walk towards the entrance, Jessica followed in pursuit. But as she was about to enter the building, two guards blocked her way."Excuse me, Ma'am, may I see your ID?" The guard who has taper fade hairstyle said."Oh, I don't have
Five years later...The atmosphere was peaceful when Philip reached the place that he's been visiting for the past years. It’s been five years since he last saw her and he admits that she misses her so bad. Even though they haven't known each other that long, even though fate didn't agree for them to have a longer time to be with each other, he had to accept it. As much as he wanted her back, he couldn't do anything."Hey baby," He said as he sat down on the grass. "Sorry I took so long. Had to catch up on something at work. How are you?" He ch
"Are you sure that you really want to go?"Jessica's Dad asked her as she packed all her clothes inside her Disney-themed suitcase. She looked at him and saw his pleading look, a look that wanted her to stay for a little longer. But as much as she wanted to, she knows what's important and had to be done. And that is to see Philip, her husband, again. She had to explain everything to him. Why she left the lad that day to go and look for h
Jessica slowly opened her eyes and tried to adjust to the light coming from their window. Once her sight was back to normal, she looked at her side and saw Philip smiling down at her with his wet hair."Good morning, wife," He kissed her on the corner of her mouth. "Slept well?" Jessica nodded. "How are you feeling? Don't you feel sick?" She shook her head.It had been two months since they knew that Jessica was carrying a child. And it was also the reason for her sudden change of mood and she al
After going to the office, Philip immediately made his way back home. He made sure that he gets back as early as possible since he wanted to come with his wife to the hospital for her first check-up.As he silently opened the door to their house, he was met by his wife who's sitting on the couch while eating. He couldn't help but shake his head for a bit when he noticed that Jessica was eating like she hasn't eaten for days now. But he knew it was the effect of the baby in her womb.He walked towards the brunette and gave her a quick peck on the cheek, which caught Jessica off-guar
Philip opened his eyes and the bright light coming from the ceiling is the first thing he sees. He adjusted to the light and when he finally did, he looked around, only realizing that he was still in his boxers."Ah, Mister Edwards, I'm glad you're awake." A doctor said as he approached him. "I'm Doctor Clifford, I was the one who checked on your wife." The lad introduced himself to Philip before handing the lad what seems to be a coat."How was she?" He asked as he placed the coat around his body.
Jessica woke up with a terrible headache the next day. Her vision was still blurry and she feels like she's about to throw up anytime. Which she did, a few seconds after. But before she makes a mess on the bed, she quickly ran towards the bathroom and emptied her stomach over the toilet. She clutched her tummy as she continued to throw up.This had been happening for a few days now. But the blurry vision was new. This made her think about what happened last night.-"It's so hot in here!" Jessica said as she fluttered her eyes open. They were still on their way home since it was an hour's drive. She used her hands as a fan to try and ease the heat that she was feeling. "Is the air condition not working?"Philip was brought out of his own thoughts as he heard his wife. Yep, Jessica was indeed drunk because she kept saying things."Oh, hey Phil, I didn't see you there." The brunette said with a naughty smile, still t
The married couple drove silently to the road, on their way to an exclusive house to attend a party. Jessica had been telling the lad about it a couple of times this week now and tonight was the night she was talking about. Philip didn't want to go obviously, but because of the brunette's puppy eyes and kisses, she finally convinced him to come.Jessica looked at her husband, who was focused on the road to even notice her staring at him. She didn't know why he was quiet but he didn't seem to be pissed or upset like usual. They haven't been fighting lately as well so her silence really worried the lad.
"Finally! I thought you'd never come." Colin said as he rose from his seat to meet the lad halfway. He had called him earlier today since he has something important to tell his friend. He thought that he ditched him since he was waiting for him for more than an hour and a half."What's so important about what you're going to tell me that you have to make me leave home and meet you here? You could've said it over the phone." He said irritated."Why are you always like that?" Philip just scoffed as they both took a seat.
It was still early in the morning but you could already find Jessica inside the kitchen, cooking breakfast. She knew that she kind of pissed the lad off the last night and this is her way of apologizing to him.She just finished the food and was currently fixing the table when the lad went downstairs. It confused her to see him not wearing his usual office clothes, Jessica assumed that he's taking his day off again today."Uhm, I cooked breakfast. You should eat." The brunette invited him. Philip didn't reply and just sat on the chair. She was about to place some food o
