BLAIRE
"What's your name, Mr. Spy?" I asked while applying treatment to the wound I've inflicted a while ago.
"Don't get me wrong. I don't have plans on becoming your friend." He replied abruptly with a snobbish tone. Annoyed by his reply, I picked up the alcohol on the kit and poured it on his open wound on the neck in annoyance.
"AAAAHHHH! WHAT THE---!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He angrily screamed and jolted away in pain.
"You need to sanitize the wound before treating it, ya know?" I rolled my eyes as if stating the most obvious fact in the world.
"BUT YOU NEED TO CLEAN IT WITH COTTON! NOT DIRECT APPLICATION!" I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly and continued rummaging through the kit as if I was just listening to the wind.
"Since you won't tell me your name, I'll just continue to call you Mr. Spy." I remarked while carefully patting the cotton ball with medicine on his forehead. Realizing that his protests are useless, he hissed a 'tsk' in defeat. I couldn't contain my sealed lips and chuckled. As I look at him up close, I began to wonder.
"How old are you, Mr. Spy?"
"...." When I glared at him, he immediately hid the alcohol behind him and averted his gaze.
"Come on! Why won't you answer? Can't you see that I'm being hospitable to you right now?"
"You inflicted this, you should be responsible."
"You spied on me, you should have anticipated it." He glared at me and I glared back once again. With that, I unexpectedly chuckled. We're really cat and mouse, aren't we?
"Hmmmm, I didn't thought that you would look younger up close."
"What does that mean?"
"You look old." I replied bluntly with a straight face. His eyes widened in fury as he began to spout his anger once again.
"OLD?!"
"I guess you're around late thirties, am I right?" I teased him with a huge grin on my face. It's a lie though, I just want to enjoy his annoyed expression.
"You--!! How is 23 old?! You should get your eyes checked!"
"Oohhh~ so you're 23." I nodded my head and widened my smile in triumph. Too late did he realize that he fell right into my trap. He groaned in frustration which made me laugh even more.
"I can't believe the Empress planted such a weak rat on me"
"Hey!" He raised his voice in annoyance from my insult which made me smile. His face heated up in embarrassment and immediately spouted an excuse.
"She hired a spy, not an assassin. Spies hide, not fight!" I stared at him in disbelief because of his stupidity. I am a child yet I know better what spies do than the spy himself, how is this possible?
"But I found you so you failed to hide as a spy"
"That's what bothers me! I've been watching you since you were 5 but this is the first time you've noticed me. It's as if someone possed the body of the princess with an impressive agility and aggressiveness!" My hands halted from patting his wounds and my body tensed upon hearing his words. Uh-oh! I think I'll have to be more careful or others might start to suspect my actions. I gently smiled at him like nothing happened and slowly wrapped a bandage on his treated neck after applying the medicine.
"Now, report to the empress my usual routine as what we've discussed earlier. Remember everything I've said! Your life is on the line here as well." I warned him again for the nth time. He nodded hesitantly but when I narrowed my eyes and raised the scissors from the kit, he nodded his head right away and hurriedly left after waving goodbye.
"My lady, it's time for your bath." Joewella softly spoke behind me. I turned my head towards her and she flashed a genuine smile. I gazed back to the direction where the spy left and gave out a sigh.
'I just can't trust people easily in this world' I shook my head in defeat and faced Joewella once again. "I'll do it later. I have something important to do first." Not waiting for her reply, I swiftly ran towards the high walls that guarded my castle and climbed on a branch to reach the nearest tree. I leaped gracefully from one branch to another and it became easier for me to move now since I'm wearing pants which I insisted against Joewella who preferred the long dress with a very tight corset. I groaned absent-mindedly upon realizing that I have no choice but to wear those uncomfortable clothes sooner or later. I continued to run silently on the strong branches trying to catch up after Mr. Spy.
'so I'm spying my spy huh? funny.' I silently chuckled at the ironic thought and sharpened my vision along the way.
Silver hair, black cloak--- I spotted the person I was looking for. He was cautiously walking in the woods which I believed to be a hidden shortcut towards the empress' palace.
'I don't know if he bought my warnings but everything I've told him were just full of baffles! The empress will surely not let this slide when she knows what happened.'
I crossed my fingers and hoped for the god of luck to aid my side. After quite some time of following him from a distance, a huge and extravagant palace came into the view. Suddenly, he grabbed on the branch of the nearest tree and leaped over the cornermost side of the high walls. Suspicious. Why are there no knights guarding this area?
It's almost time for the rising sun to rest yet surprisingly, a middle-aged woman with dark bluish hair and sparkling blue eyes was still leisurely drinking a cup of tea in this desolated area. As Mr. Spy descended on the green grass, she gracefully placed the cup back on the table and raised her gaze as if expecting his presence
'Wait! Is she--'
"Greetings to the Moon of the Empire! Glory and Opulence be upon the Kristania Empire." He kneeled on his one foot and placed his right hand on his chest as a courtesy to the woman in front of him.
"Report." The woman's voice was full of authority yet faint uninterest was visible.
"So far there's nothing suspicious, Your Majesty. The lady is just doing her usual routine from the time she woke up until the time I left." The empress smirked with satisfaction but as she spotted the bandage on his neck, she narrowed her eyes and her smile vanished.
"Then why did you get an injury?" She asked while raising a brow. It didn't sound like she was worried about him but it's enough to ignite suspicion on his words a while ago. I unconsciously bit my lip to contain my surging nervousness. Goodness! I haven't thought about this!
"To think that the moon of the empire cares for her lowly subjects like me, Her Majesty truly possesses a benevolent heart. This humble servant slipped while climbing a tree and injured his neck. However, please be at ease for this will not disrupt my duties as a servant of the empress."
"Pffft! Benevolent heart my ass." I silently chuckled at his sloppy flattery. Mr. Spy brilliantly flaunted an excuse before her while keeping his head low. Obviously, he was trying to avoid the suspicious gaze of the royal but the empress took his action and words as signs of loyalty. I slowly breathe a sigh of relief. He truly kept his promise. Not wanting to listen more of their conversation, I carefully turned my back on them and started to climb away. However, after a few minutes of wandering in the forest.
'Uhhhhh I think I'm lost'
I pouted my lips and jumped off the grassy ground. I tried to pat the leaves and dirt from my hair and clothes before I raised my head. Upon seeing the blue sky turning orange, my anxiety began to rise as I continued walking.
'What if I can't go home and remained trapped in this endless forest?'
My face turned pale as I stopped in my tracks. No, I'm not scared of having no place to live or food to eat. I'm scared that I won't be able to go back to my own world if I can't fulfill my tasks. I gulped hard and shook the pessimism off my head. I started to walk again but this time, faster.
"What are you doing here?"
Upon hearing that deep voice, my whole body froze.
BLAIRE "Why are you here?" My whole body froze upon hearing a familiar deep voice. I instantly shut my eyes and took small deep breaths before composing myself to face the masculine figure behind me. "Who are you? Why are you talking down to a princess?" I growled in warning and confidently lifted my chin. With narrowed eyes, I shot him a cold gaze and folded my arms in front of me. I tried my best to act like a stranger to him but this guy....his face is crumpled in full annoyance. I instantly bit my lip to stop myself from laughing at his priceless expression. I feigned a cough to compose myself and the moment our eyes met, the pair of green orbs that were intensely staring at me softened as he heaved a sigh. When the gush of wind suddenly blew against our direction, the hood from his black cloak slowly slipped away and revealed his glorious silver linen hair which gracefully danced along with the serenades of the wind.
BLAIRE In this world, Victoria's life is always in danger. The Empress is keeping an eye on my every move, the princess is looking for ways to eradicate my existence, the prince is turning a blind on my maltreatment, and the emperor has long abandoned his first child. One sunrise, someone planted a bomb around my palace. The other time, I almost ingested poison from picking up a fruit around the garden, thankfully, Joewella was there to stop me. I couldn't help but slump my head on the table as I groaned in frustration. I think Victoria survived all these years because of Joewella. I stared at the woman who is cheerfully humming as she swept the dried leaves off the ground. I bet she's not an ordinary maid, no one could detect a bomb unless they know much about it. A smirk played on my lips as I sat back. I don't care about her secrets, as long as she won't stab me from the back, I would call her my ally. "...ally" I echoed my words in a whis
BLAIRE "I'm homeeee!" I yelled while skipping through my steps. Joewella and Eunice immediately came out the door with excited expressions. "My lady! What have you brought this time?" Eunice asked enthusiastically while running in my direction. "It's a deer." I plopped the dead animal on the ground with a proud smile. Victoria's stamina has improved a lot these past few days. At least, my workout exercises didn't come to waste. "My lady, are you hurt anywhere? did you have a cut? do you feel pain somewhere?" Joewella asked consecutively without catching her breath as she inspected each corner of my body. I have no choice but to chuckle at her great concern. "I'm fine. Can you please send this to Jerome and ask him to prepare dinner?" "Yes, my lady!" They nodded their head and accepted the rope that I offered which connects to the horns of my prey. I shifted my gaze towards the narrow tree by the walls and smiled at the

Sirens and Mermaids are nemeses since the beginning of time. Although they live in the same environment, their personalities are like oil and water. The latter is known to be gentle and kind while the former is alluring and mischievous in nature. In a flash, her tail vanished and a pair of feet came into sight. She glared at me with her cobalt blue eyes and furiously marched in my direction. My maid grabbed my wrist as she stood before me, protecting me with her body from my origin's arch-enemy. Everyone knows that mermaids and sirens never get along. Now, I get the reason why my blood would never be calm around her. She stared intenselyat my maid and gardener who were present in the situation and parted her lips. "I will say this once..."
BLAIRE I slowly opened my mouth and ate a spoonful of dessert with a little uneasiness. The number of eyes that has been focusing on me are making me feel uneasy for quite sometime now. I've already been used to Mr. Spy's unwavering stares but not from the others. I gently placed my utensil back on my plate and smiled awkwardly at the three of them who are standing in front of me. "Uhm..." "My lady, you should drink more water!" "You should eat more food to stay healthy!" "I've prepared these dishes to supply you with ample nutrients for your body, my lady!" I scratched my head and squinted my eyes without removing the smile on my lips to them whose faces are fu
Blaire "Haaah!!" I heaved a deep sigh before sitting up on the bed. I massaged the temples of my head and decided to get some fresh air. The sweet midnight breeze immediately embraced my pale skin against the thin nightdress that I'm wearing. The mixed scent of wet grass welcomed my nose in delight before averting my gaze towards the starless sky. The void is filled with dark gray clouds but the shining moonlight is slowly peeking through the small gaps. I can't sleep! I sighed once again in frustration. Is it because I'm too nervous? or maybe too excited? of what? what the capital looks like? what other people in this world is like? My uneasiness made me pout like a child. I closed my eyes and felt the gentle wind comforting me in its own way. When was the

You wouldn't believe what I just heard!" the high-pitched voice made my heart sink in hopelessness. The sound of her heels paused as she entered the room as if reading the atmosphere. Mother? Is she....I slowly lifted my head and the moment our eyes, she sneered at me with disgust and sashayed her way towards her mother. The color of her hair resembles the Empress but hers was longer and straighter.
BLAIRE "My lady, shall we go now?" I lifted my head and smiled at Eunice who was extending her hands to me. I accepted her assistance and got in the carriage with drowsy eyes. Noticing my sunken aura, Eunice didn't bother to ask questions and allowed me to close my eyes and rest against the wall. I can't sleep well from what happened last night. All my emotions are too mixed up that I can't distinguish one from the other. I gave out a sigh and lifted my heavy eyelids on the window. The people are crowding over the streets, laughing, talking, doing the things they've always done. +Please wait a moment. I will upload the full chapter in the next few hours.+
BLAIRE "Haaaaaaaah" I let out a deep sigh as I surrendered my body against the door. How many times have I sighed this day? I closed my eyes and enjoyed the cold breeze of spring comforting my racing heart. I've barely started the plan yet it seems like my life span has drastically decreased. I shook my head in defeat and smiled sadly. Life's never been easy to me. I slowly walked towards the railings of the balcony and inhaled the sweet scent of the moist green grass.I turned my gaze upward and appreciated the beauty of the wraith-silver disc hanging in the withered skies. Lasers of moonlight, as bright as diamond-flame, turned the scenery a-glow like melted platinum together with the tiny heavenly bodies glittering merrily in their lovely abode. '12th balcony to the left' is what I remembered to be Duke Vel Lavite's sanctuary in the Imperial Palace. I still remembered a scene from the book where he attended a banquet and got distressed
BLAIRE “My lady,” I flinched at the sudden voice behind me. W-what was that? I didn’t notice their presence at all! I tightly closed my eyes and took a deep breath. You can do this, Blaire. In three, two, one… I dramatically turned my head back with my hair swinging like a melody of a lullaby as I faced the group of gentlemen walking in my direction. “My lord,” I called back with a gentle voice and a coy smile. My eyes were narrowed from the uplift of my cheeks as I secretly inspected them from head to toe. These men…. they may be wearing ravishing clothes befitting a noble, however, their crude etiquette could never conceal their rigid per
BLAIRE “Ugh! I don’t feel right,” I grumbled with an uncomfortable expression. I leaned my head against the wall and sighed. Ben couldn't help but chuckle at my frustrating situation. “There’s no need to be nervous. I bet the duke won’t be able to take his eyes off you.” I ran my hands on my waist with an uncomfortable expression. “Why is this so tight?! I can hardly breathe!” Ben frowned and soothed my back with his gentle hands. “The aristocrats have always believed that: the slimmer the waist; the more desirable a woman is.” “Hah! What bullshit is that?” I scoffed and flipped my head away in disbelief. I can feel Ben's glare digging through my head but I didn't dare to look back. So is this how I’m going to clothe myself from now on? “I’m not withstanding this!-” “-Not unless you become the Empress,” Ben replied abruptly with a s
BLAIRE “-ur Highness! You have to wake up now!” I drowsily opened my heavy eyelids at Joewella’s urgent voice. “Mmmm--what?” I asked weakly while rubbing my eyes. “We have to start preparing now!” I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced through the window. The sun is just about to rise and you’re telling me to start preparing? “The party is still is still in the evening, right?” I asked dumbfounded at their panic. Eunice looked at me with fire burning intensely in her eyes as she clenched her fist in the air, and replied emphasizing each word. “Let’s. Start. Now!” With that, a couple of women with familiar faces entered the room. Wait! They are the ladies from The Black Sun! What are they doing here? They looked at each other and exchanged strange expressions. Uh-oh! I don’t lik
BLAIRE My jaw dropped at what I’ve heard. This man looks like a living statue, perfectly sculpted by the gods but would have been better if you wouldn't hear them speak. “W-w-what are you talking about?!” I immediately found my stable footing on the ground and pushed him away. “Who are you?” I asked with furrowed brows as I didn’t take my suspicious eyes away from him. The hood from his cloak gently fell on his back and his glorious crimson hair shined brightly under the heat of the sun. Woah! He’s hot! It’s definitely a sight to behold as his purple eyes looked back at me gently. He flashed a smile so bright that even the sun envied his radiance. “It’s me! Ishi!” He exclaimed excitedly. Ishi? I don’t think I’ve heard that name before. I tilted my head and thought for a moment. I d
BLAIRE “HAHAHAHAHA!!” “Stop laughing, Evander! You’re making me more embarrassed!” The heat on my cheeks is burning up as I tried to hide my face with my hands and kept my head low. “I was an expert with heights before but Victoria has a really bad sense of balance!” “Seriously! Who would try to climb on top of a door?! HAHAHHAHAHA” Ughh! My face flushed redder than it was before that I wished the ground would open up and swallow me whole. I started to hit Evander on the arm and explained,“I do! I was scared of tall places before but I wanted to be an acrobat so I conquered my fear little by little and now it has become comforting thing for me already!” Evander
BLAIRE “-hut your sht!” “I’m telling the truth!” “That’s what liars say” “But I’m not one!” I slowly opened my heavy eyelids and adjusted my vision from the indoor lights. What’s with the commotion? I carefully got up and suddenly, 6 pairs of eyes immediately turned in my direction. “What’s going on?” I asked weakly as they froze in place. “Your Highness!” They shouted in unison which startled me greatly. They ran towards my side, leaving the poor silver-haired guy on the floor with his hands and feet tied. “Are you okay?” “How do you feel now?” “Are you in pain?” They asked me countless questions in a hurry that it started to make me feel dizzy. Ah! Suddenly, a quick shadow entered the room thro
BLAIRE “Here’s the paper today, Your Highness.” Joewella placed the newspaper in front of me as I slowly took a sip from my drink. “It’s really weird to see milk inside the teacup instead of tea,” Eunice murmured quietly while frowning. I turned my head towards her and smiled sarcastically “Then close your eyes.” “Your Highness!” She cried in annoyance as I laughed out loudly. “You’ll get used to it in no time, Eunice.” “But I should not. It should be you who must get used to drinking tea, Your Highness. Noble ladies serve and drink tea in parties, not milk!” “Aya!” I waved my hand in disapproval as I frowned. I know that but I can’t get over the taste of this expensive drink yet. I have four other siblings at home and we can’t afford to buy milk so I’m taking my time and enjoying every bit of it here.
